Chapter 1
Ginny Weasley looked around the library. She had a note in her hand, from someone who wished to meet her, today. It was during the evening break, and the curfew wasn’t on yet. “Who would want to meet me in the library,” she thought, as she walked around. The only person in the library was the weird Ravenclaw fourth year Luna, reading The Quibbler upside down. Ginny looked at her note, and sat down at a table, pondering the reason why she got the note, and who it came from.
The writing appeared very much like something a Ravenclaw would write, but if Cho Chang wished to meet with her, the only reason would be to ask her about Harry, and she knew that Cho was currently seeing a fifth year Hufflepuff named Thomas Greene. She looked around, and Luna saw her. “The absence of followers brings doom, Ginny,” Luna told her, in her mystical voice. “Follow the path of righteousness and the flight shall guide you.”
Ginny was taken aback. The note did say that a person wished to meet her in the library, didn’t say who it was, or why. “Luna, is there a reason why you want to meet me?” Luna shook her dirty blonde hair, and looked at Ginny with her pale eyes. “Why am I here?”
Luna ran her fingers through her hair, and looked at Ginny, not with her usually surprised look, but one of raw animal instinct taking over. “The red headed one would light the darkness that is cast by evil,” Luna spoke with her mystical voice. Ginny moved back from her chair some. “The red headed one can fill the void where darkness is felt.”
Ginny stood up, and said in a nervous voice, “What are you talking about? Last year you would talk to Harry or Ron, this year you want to meet with me…”
Luna giggled. “Some do look for opening when others are around.” Luna stood up, glided next to Ginny, and placed a small kiss on her cheek. Ginny backed out of the library, looking scared. Luna chuckled to herself. “You know you like me, Ginny. You’re just afraid to admit it.”
Ginny ran to the common room as fast as she can. Passing by the suits of armour, even ignoring the small barrage of spit balls thrown by Peeves, she stopped in front of the fat lady. “Pork Pudding,” she gasped, and the portrait nodded and swung open. Ginny ran into the common room and spied Hermione. Gasping, she said, “Hermione, I was just in the library, and…”
Hermione raised her eyebrows. “Let me get this straight, you were in the library?” Hermione asked, interested.
Ginny nodded, and then gasped out, “Yes, I was, L…”
Hermione told Ginny to be quiet. “You were in the library, willingly! I am so surprised. I thought someone taught you to misbehave. I’m glad I influenced you some, as well as Bill, and Charlie influencing you. You sure went the right way.”
Ginny opened her mouth toak, ak, and Hermione continued. “Yes, you can tell me all about it the next time we go there, and show me your favourite book. Continue studying now.” Hermione stood up and headed up the stairs. Ginny grabbed her, and forced her to turn around.
“Now, listen here, Hermione. Luna kissed me in the library. She said some weird things, and then, well… She kissed me!” Ginny stopped for some breath.
Hermione now looked concerned. “But, last year, she was interested in Ron and Harry. Why would she instantly become a lesbian?”
Ginny shrugged, “She may have always been a lesbian. She said something like letting her know who I am by being with my friends and family. There’s one weird thing, however.”
Hermione looked at Ginny closely. “What would that be?”
Ginny looked at her feet, and around. The fire was flickering, some people were scratching on their parchments with their quills. The common room was a little too busy. “Can we go into a dorm room so I can tell you? It’s a little too easy for people to eavesdrop here.”
Hermione nodded, and Ginny and Hermione began to ascent the stairway to the rooms. They passed by Ron and Harry, who grinned to themselves seeing Hermione with Ginny, probably thinking they’ll talk about why they both like Harry and why Hermione likes Ron.
Entering Ginny’s dorm room, they both sat on Ginny’s four poster bed. Nobody else was in the room, and only the blowing wind created any movement. Ginny looked at Hermione, a couple of tears in her eyes.
Hermione held Ginny close. “What was it, the weird thing?”
Ginny sniffed. “I liked the kiss. I think I’m a lesbian.”
