Revelations

- REVELATIONS -

Harry Potter sat by the fire in the Gryffindor common room, idly flicking through his Charms assignment. His mind just wasn’t on homework that night and, try as he might, he just couldn’t shake the distractions from his mind:

It had all begun at dinner that night. Harry was seated at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall with his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, sitting across from him. Harry had always known that Ron carried a flame for the once bushy-haired brunette, and now that a few years had passed since they first met, Harry guiltily found some dirty thoughts about her creeping into his own mind. He had never acted on them however; as he worried about the effect it would have on his friendship with Ron.

Hermione had grown up, seemingly during their last holiday break. She had traveled to Western Australia with her parents, who had friends there, for nearly a month. The sunshine had tanned her usually fair skin to a pleasant shade of brown. She had also picked up a few complex beauty charms from witches she met there. Her hair, once a tangled mess, was now straight and shiny, falling just above her waist. She had also filled out in quite a stunning way; her hips and breasts now had a distinct curve to them. The girl who was once viewed as a studious bookworm by all now turned more than her fair share of heads as she sauntered past. The change in her looks hadn’t changed her personality in any way that Harry could see. She was, perhaps, a little bit more confident, but she still liked to excel in her studies and was as level headed as ever.

All the same, Hermione definitely wasn’t the same girl Harry had met on the train six years ago. Harry watched her as she delicately picked at her food. This was when his attention had first peaked. Hermione had missed a button on her school shirt, and from Harry’s present angle, he could quite clearly see that she wore no bra. He watched the gentle curve of her breast as it rose and fell with her breathing. Harry knew he shouldn’t be looking, Hermione was his friend after all, But it was as if his eyes were glued to that small window of visible flesh.

As he was staring, he had a sudden feeling that he was being watched. Slowly, he raised his gaze to meet Hermione’s eyes. She wore an almost stern look of disapproval that was betrayed by the slightest twitch of her lips, as if she was trying to hide a smile. Harry didn’t notice this and blushed deeply, casting his eyes back to his plate. Unsure of how his friend would feel about his obvious perving, Harry decided to keep his eyes to himself for the rest of the meal.

His resolve on the matter was soon challenged, however, when his fork slipped off the table and clattered to the floor. Ducking under the table to retrieve it, Harry chanced a glance across at the sets of legs opposite him. To his shock, Hermione’s legs were slowly parting. Harry made a show of fumbling with his fork, stalling for time. As she opened them further he saw the briefest glimpse of white underwear; he jerked upwards, forgetting that he was under the table. The clatter of the dishes and good natured laughter of his housemates accompanied him as he rose, red faced, back to his seat. He could have sworn that Hermione had sent a cheeky grin and a wink his way, but it seemed so ludicrous that he dismissed the idea almost instantly as a side effect from the knock to his head. He quickly finished his meal, and escaped to the warmth of the common room.

Harry tried again to concentrate on his Charms homework, but found it totally useless. Deciding it was a waste of time, he looked around the common room and noticed that some of the students were starting to disperse to their dormitories. Not wanting to go to bed yet, but also wanting to avoid the gaze of his fellow students, Harry decided to creep upstairs and retrieve his invisibility cloak.

Opening the door to his dormitory, he snuck inside. Mercifully it was empty, the usual occupants still downstairs, undoubtedly working on one school project or another. Harry reached his trunk at the foot of his bed and began to rummage through the contents. Finally he found his cloak, tucked it under his arm and made to slip back out to the staircase. As he reached for the door handle it swung open and Harry came face to face with Ron.

“What’s the adventure tonight?” Ron chuckled, eyeing the cloak in the crook of Harry’s arm.

“Nothing mate, I just don’t feel tired yet and I’d prefer not to be stared at tonight. So I figured I’d throw this on and hang out in the common room by myself for a while.”

“Fair enough, I’ll come with you shall I?”

Harry looked puzzled, “Didn’t you just hear me say I wanted to be by myself?”

“Of course I did,” Ron smiled indulgently. “But if you have that cloak on, no-one will be able to see you.”

“That’s kind of the point Ron,” Harry said, fearing that his friend had finally lost it. ”What are you getting at?”

“Well, what do you think would happen if someone mistook your seat for an empty one?”

“Oh yeah, guess I never really thought of that,” Harry admitted bashfully. “Well, come on then, lets go.” He added, throwing the cloak over himself.

Ron smiled inwardly at his own resourcefulness and followed his now invisible friend back into the common room.

They sat near the corner of the room on one of the older lounges, with Ron quietly talking to Harry out of the corner of his mouth, so as not to attract attention to himself. It was about an hour before Hermione came down from the girls bathroom in her pink dressing gown. Ron made to wave her over before Harry gave him a sharp nudge in the ribs.

“What was that for?!” Ron hissed angrily.

“Don’t you remember me saying I wanted to be alone?”

“But it’s Hermione, she’s alright. It’s not like she asks awkward questions or makes you feel out of place”

If only you knew how wrong you are. Harry thought. “I just don’t feel like any company tonight okay? You’re only here to make sure no-one sits on me.”

“Is that right?” Ron said, clearly hurt. “Well in that case I’m going to bed. Sit here and mope all you like Harry.” With that he turned and stormed off.

Harry glared at Ron as he retreated to the dormitory before returning his eyes to the common room in search of Hermione. This had been his real reason for wanting to be invisible tonight. Harry felt unsure of how to act around her after the events at the dinner table. Was it possible that she was doing these things to attract his attention?

If she is, Harry mused, then she’s doing a damn fine job.

But what if that isn’t the way it is? Said another voice in his head, arguing its case. It could just be some weird sort of timing.

Harry was thoroughly confused. If he was honest with himself, he knew that he had always admired Hermione. At first for her brains and later for her looks as well. Even so, he had never experienced these sorts of feelings for her before tonight. He’d always seen her as being the sister he’d never had. Harry had never really paid attention to the fact that she was a female; she was just Hermione. Now he didn’t know what to feel.

Damn, thought Harry, she must have gone back to her dorm, I can’t see her anywhere.

Harry settled back into the sofa and, within an hour, he had drifted off to sleep.

A/N: Well, that’s it then. The first chapter of my attempt at Adultfic writing is up! This is my first shot at writing anything like this as I’m used to working on original writings. However I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Now then, I’ve got a few people who I’d like to thank.

First of all to my wonderful Betas, WilliamSpike and Hamie; thanks a bunch for correcting my errors, I hope you’ll both enjoy seeing this all come together.

Secondly, I’d like to thank Petalsoft, a fellow author on this site, whose fics inspired me to write my own. When I told her this, her encouragement gave me the confidence to actually do it.

All of Petal’s fics are fantastic, but if you’re looking for a really good read, try out “What a Witch Needs” that’s right, all 63 CHAPTERS! It truly is one of the best I have ever read.

So, on that note I bid you adieu for the moment, and eagerly await your reviews telling me what you think!

Regards,
