The Letter

Ok, I know that you are waiting for a new chapter for my other fics but here’s the thing, I am stuck on how to further them. So, here is a little something to keep you all happy while I spank my muse into submission.

Well, this little madness from my brain is post Deathly Hallows, and I have tried not to destroy too much, but I really don’t like Ginny. Really really really don’t like her.

I don’t own anything except Andie Malfoy. All hail goes to J. K. Rowling. She is a goddess.

Harry sat in front of the lawyer Draco had recommended. Harry found this slightly odd in a strangely comforting way.

He had taken Draco Malfoy’s advice about something.

A Malfoy.

‘Merlin, help me’, Harry thought as he turned his attention to the lawyer once again as he started speaking again.

“Mr Potter, I don’t think you quite realised what you were doing when you entered into this contract. When you signed your name to this contract, you legally gave up your claim. I’m sorry Mr Potter, I really am, but there is absolutely nothing I can do,” the lawyer said in what Harry assumed to be a comforting tone. She leaned towards him. “My advice is to talk to her. Try to convince her to be reasonable.”

“If that had worked then I wouldn’t be here, would I?” Harry spat. He stood and walked towards the door.

He let himself out into the corridor and found her sitting on one of the uncomfortable benches. She stood and walked to him, embracing him in a hug. “Any luck?”

“No,” he said sadly. “According to that lawyer your brother suggested, there’s nothing can be done. I signed it, of my own free will and with a God damned smile on my face. She wins, I lose. End of story. I’ve lost everything, Andie, and I don’t know how to fix this.”

She reached up and stroked his cheek, “Shhh, it’ll be ok, we’ll find a way. Come on, let’s go, there’s no reason to be here anymore.”

He pulled her into his arms and Apparated into Draco’s living room. Harry felt his arms loose contact with her and he opened his eyes to see her pouring him a scotch (something he never would have believed any Malfoy would keep).

He took the glass from her and sank down onto one of the couches. As she turned to sit on one of the couches, her attention was captured by and owl impatiently tapping at the window. She sighed and walked to the window and let the tiny owl in. It flew to Harry and waved it’s leg at him, while fluttering up and down erratically and hooting in a sort of self satisfied way.

Harry swore if he could get away with killing the little tennis ball of feathers without Ron killing him with Pig the owl he would, groaning in frustration as he tried very unsuccessfully to remove the letter from the twittering fluff balls leg.

Andie giggled and grabbed Pig out of the air, holding him still which allowed Harry to finally remove the letter. She calmly perched Pig on her shoulder and left the room with an excuse of going to tell Draco they were back.

Harry opened the letter and dropped his glass in shock.

Dear Harry

Let me extend the hand of apology on behalf of most of us. We are so very sorry for what has happened. We had no idea about the contract.

Ginny has always been a hot head and stubborn to boot, which doesn’t help in this situation. If there is anything we can do to help you fight her for your children in the divorce, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Unfortunately, Charlie has sided with Ginny on this one, but let us assure you that the rest of us have always seen you as a member of our family and are appalled at the way Ginny is handling this.

For all intents and purposes, your marriage was over anyway. We love our daughter, we really do, but we can’t condone what she’s done.

We realise that things happened between you two that can’t be fixed, and the divorce is the final step that both of you have to take, but to take your children from you is completely unbelievable and cruel.

Feel free to owl us or to visit if you need us. Don’t hesitate, you’re family. Never forget that.

All our love and best wished and apologies,

Molly and Arthur Weasley (and Ron, Hermione, Rose, Hugo, George, Bill, Fleur, Victoire, Percy, and not forgetting Teddy.)

PS. Teddy sends his love.

Draco, Lucius and Andie ran into the room as Harry broke down into tears. Andie took the letter and read it quickly, passing it to her father and brother as she pulled Harry into a hug, letting him cry on her silk top.

Ok, here it is, the first instalment. I have had this buzzing around in my head for days now, slowly driving me mad.
I will post another chapter, probably tomorrow, and maybe once this is out of my system, I should be able to carry on with the others.
Please review, I would love to know what you think and how you think that this should continue. You never know, I might even use your suggestions.
