Introduction
I originally began my foray into experiments with alleviating the rather unkind effects of the Cruciatus curse shortly after my indoctrination into the ranks of the Death Eaters. Cruciatus appeared to be one of the Dark Lord's preferred curses, and I quickly concluded that I would likely suffer under this Unforgivable's cruelty regardless of what prestigious pure blood flowed in my veins. Despite my own personal interest in sadomasochism, or perhaps as a result of my comprehension regarding this oft-misunderstood activity, I felt that this particular curse's trauma was not sexually arousing in the least. Yet, I pondered the possibility that Cruciatus could be experienced thusly.
Originally, I assigned myself the task of developing a method to tolerate Cruciatus (or even derive pleasure from the afflicting spell) in order that I might weave a clever little deception on occasions where I would otherwise find myself writhing in agony from a dose of this most painful curse. Sorted into Slytherin as I had been, self-preservation factored heavily in my motives. My own interest in sadomasochism deepened during my early years at Hogwarts and served to arm me with a certain degree of useful information for the arduous task which lay ahead.
There is an inherent difference between well-dispensed erotic pain and the pain associated with curses such as Cruciatus. This is an important differentiation to grasp, and given my audience, I believe the obviousness and realities of curse-associated pain are rather evident. Those of you who do not quite understand the difference will simply have to trust me that pain can be pleasurable -- although I do not doubt some of you must share my own proclivities for sadomasochism (for which was likely a motivating factor in your acquisition of this volume).
