Lucius Malfoy's Second Wife
The character of Lucius Malfoy belongs to J.K.Rowling. I am only borrowing him for a while. No copyright transgressions are intended and no profit is made.
Story starts sometime before the end of the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Lucius’ second wife, Olivia White, is not canon. Romance and humor.
Chapter One – Olivia
Lucius Malfoy knew it would be nearly impossible to find a bride in England. He had intimidated or threatened most of the pureblood families throughout the entire British Isles. Certainly the few pureblood families who had daughters of marriageable and childbearing age would never agree to let him marry one of their females now. Even the most cowed of them would fight back when it came to their children’s entire lives. One family said they’d actually kill their daughter first.
Lucius was being pressured into providing more pureblood children. The Dark Lord was adjuring him to marry again and bring more pureblood wizards and witches into the world. Lucius privately thought he was being used to build Voldemort’s future army but his choices were limited to obeying or dying. An easy choice, really, he mentally shrugged.
Narcissa had feared for Draco’s involvement with the Dark Lord and had divorced Lucius, taking their son off to Europe. Voldemort blamed him for letting her escape, but Lucius had secretly allowed her flight with Draco after He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had started showing an interest in Draco becoming a Death Eater.
He definitely needed to find a pureblood wife quickly, or suffer the consequences. He would worry about any future children later.

“The portkey has arrived, Livvy,” her father said, “We’ll leave tomorrow. Mr. Malfoy has offered to purchase an entirely new wardrobe for you, so you needn’t take much.” James White then asked for the hundredth time, “Are you certain about this?”
“Mr. Malfoy’s offer is a godsend to us.” Olivia White was extremely apprehensive about journeying all the way to England from California to meet and possibly marry a wizard she’d never met. His picture had been flattering, but pictures could be adjusted and no picture could give her any idea of the man himself. But she was determined to accept the wizard’s offer.
“I’m truly sorry it has come to this, Livvy. Mr. Malfoy has promised our family a great deal of money and you’re well aware of the straits we are in.” He looked at his daughter sadly, “If you cannot bring yourself to marry Mr. Malfoy, we will try to think of some other way to find the money for your mother’s care. And if you find you are not compatible with him you mustn’t accept his offer.”
“I’m certain, Father.” Olivia knew there was no other way. She felt lucky that her family’s bloodline was completely pureblood although that was more accident than design. Mr. Malfoy had been quite adamant about that. His requirement disturbed her, but was not enough to make her change her mind. She also worried about why Mr. Malfoy was contracting a marriage with someone so far away from his home. She didn’t want to discuss that with her father who probably wondered too. This arrangement was strange all around, but nothing mattered but the money for her mother. Her mother would have the care she needed. That was all that counted.
