Intermission- The Traveling Diary and the Train

Intermission- The Traveling Diary and the Train
September 1, 2008

It was a balmy September 1st. The Hogwarts Express pulled into Platform Nine and Three Quarters. The train held a surprise for those who would ride it today. In one of its compartments, the diary of Dumbledore sat waiting to be read.

The compartment opened, and Luna Lovegood sat down in the empty compartment. Luna was about to read her issue of the Quibbler. Luna stopped when she saw a book lying on the floor. Luna was a Ravenclaw, and she felt it was a crime to leave a book on the floor with its knowledge left unread. She opened it to her fourth year, and she read a entry about her.

'December 29th

Harry seems to be making friends with a student named Luna Lovegood. I have to crush this friendship. Luna and her father have been known to be insane. I find myself not caring when the students hide her things, and I have even found myself hiding things on her. For some reason, the Slytherins do not bug her other then hiding her belongings. I wouldn't blame them for cursing her. If I didn't have to accept all students, I would have never let her into this school. I degress, but it leaves the question of how I am to distance Harry from Luna or keep it quiet until my plans are finished.'

Luna couldn't believe what she had read. She turned the book to the cover, and she read the name of the author. Her mouth hung open, and she threw the book out into the hall. Dumbledore had written those nasty things about her. Luna didn't want to imagine what Dumbledore would have done if he had known that she had a crush on Harry.

Hermione entered the compartment never noticing the diary as she walked in. Hermione's only thoughts were on Luna. Hermione always found Luna sexy, and Luna seemed to really like Harry. Hermione knew that Harry found Luna sexy, because she had watched Harry glancing at Luna in her party dress at the wedding.

"What do you think of Harry?" Hermione asked Luna when she finally got Luna's attention.

Hermione and Luna never noticed as Neville picked up the book, and he took it to his compartment. Neville had only picked it up because he was afraid it was one of Luna's things and would be hidden from her. Neville sat with the diary for a while before curiosity got the better of him. He turned the pages of the diary until he saw his name in the book in his second year.

'September 1st

I had the displeasure of meeting a klutz of a boy. It happened that it was Neville Longbottom. I thank Merlin that Lord Voldemort choose Harry. Neville would be easier to control then Harry, but Neville would never make it past the first year when Harry had to face Quirrel. Neville would have been too stupid to find out about the stone though. He would have never even had to face Quirrel as there is no way he could have made it past the protections set up. This year Neville hasn't gotten any better. I can believe the Longbottoms were unable to fight of the very few Death Eaters that tourtured them to insanity when I look at how useless Neville is doing magic. I never thought they were dumb, but with a son like Neville they couldn't have been that bright either.'

Neville looked at who would write such a horrible thing. Luna wasn't the only one that couldn't believe the real Dumbledore. Neville looked as the diary was the dragon dung he used in the greenhouse, and he set it down on the seat next to him. He slipped out the compartment to find Harry. Neville just had to find out what it meant by Voldemort choosing Harry.

The diary sat on the seat for a while. It didn't take long before Hannah took shelter in the compartment. Pansy Parkinson had been teasing her about being in the Harry Potter Fan Club. Hermione had started it back in the first year, but when she became Harry's best friend she stopped coming to the meetings.

Hannah noticed the diary on the seat. She opened it to see it was Dumbledore's diary. Her curiosity got the better of her quick as she flipped the pages, and she kept seeing Harry's name. She never thought Dumbledore had ever noticed her let alone Harry, but the entry had both her and Harry's name. It was about the fan club in Harry's fourth year.

'December 26st

The Yule Ball was yesterday, and I had to keep Hannah Abbot and the rest of the fan girls away from Harry. If Harry knew others had his best interests in their hearts, Harry would have never become so attached to me. It is bad enough that Hermione is always hanging on his arm. Hannah seems to be the worst of the fan club. She would have gone with Harry to the ball in a heartbeat if I hadn't have Filch follow them around preventing them getting close to Harry. I really have to keep Harry feeling alone and friendless besides for me.'

Hannah couldn't believe it. Dumbledore had cost her the only chance she would have gotten with Harry. She had seen Hermione earlier with the engagement that Harry had given her. She was tempted to burn the diary right there, but she was interrupted when Collin Creevey came into the room.

Collin made a fortune selling pictures of Harry to his fan girls. Hannah bought pictures as always, and she handed the diary to Collin to get her money out. She never realized that Collin still had the diary as he left to his compartment to count all the money he had gotten.

Collin noticed that he had taken the diary once he gotten to his compartment. He had nothing to stop him to read what he at first thought was Hannah's diary. He was hoping to find out any names of new members of the Harry Potter Fan Club. He was shocked when he saw his name next to Harry's. Hannah wouldn't mention anyone in the same entry as Harry. He turned the book to the cover, and he saw it was Dumbledore's diary. He turned back to the passage, and he read the passage about Harry's 5th year.

'July 1st

The Order is getting on my nerves lately. They are more annoying than Harry's stalker. I can't stand Collin Creevey. He follows Harry around all the time. If he keeps it up, Harry might realize the power he has by defeating Voldemort when he was one. If Harry learns of that power, he could muster an army. I was lucky that Fudge started to discredit Harry. It made Harry fall deeper into my clutches. At least Tonks lets me know she is here with knocking something over. My point just walked into the door.'

Collin couldn't believe it. Dumbledore thought he was a stalker. He couldn't believe that Dumbledore had plans that no one else knew about. He was using people, and he remembered when Dumbledore had asked him to spy on Harry that year Dumbledore was avoiding Harry. Collin threw the diary once again into the hallway. He never noticed as Seamus Finnigan and Justin Finch-Fletchley walked past, and Justin picked up the diary.

Seamus and Justin stopped at their compartment, and they started to read the book they had picked up. They were probably the only male gossips in Hogwarts. They had always been scooped by Parvati. They were in hog heaven when he saw that it was Dumbledore's diary. They found a passage with both their names in it, and it was set in their 4th year.

'December 25th

I am counting my blessing today. I couldn't take it if Harry turned out gay like Seamus Finnigan and Justin Finch-Fletchley. They are the biggest drama queens I have ever seen. They haven't even been good at providing me with information. I have seen Ronald Weasley hanging out with them lately. It makes me wonder if Ron is wanting to start nibbling nobs. I don't have to worry about Ron saving Harry in his final hours since he has always been jealous of Harry. It doesn't take much to encourage this. I can't believe that I confused the hat twice to get both Ron and Ginny Weasley into Gryffindor.'

They sat the diary down, and never noticed as Parvati Patil stole the diary. Parvati had never been scooped by Seamus and Justin, and she wasn't going to let them scoop her this time. She hurried off to her private compartment in the back of the train.

Parvati couldn't believe what the drama queens have stumbled a crossed as she read that it was Dumbledore's diary. She flipped through the diary finding all sorts of good gossip. She only stopped once she noticed her and Harry's names, and she read the diary entry about their 4th year.

'January 1st

Lavender Brown and Parvati haven't spread any rumors about Harry yet. I have to count myself lucky that those two don't have the gift. It was only that damned prophecy that kept their mentor in the school. The divination professor is barely a seer. Lavender and Parvati eat it up though. What kind of small minds believe that old hack has a complete gift. They are no danger as long as Harry doesn't let slip the only true prophecy that hack ever gave. Lavender and Parvati wouldn't know good gossip if it bit them on their bums though.'

It was true after the Quibbler that Lavender and Parvati were no longer friends, but she didn't like reading that either of them weren't fit to gossip let alone the insults to their favorite professor. She never noticed as the Hufflepuff prefect slipped into the compartment until she spoke.

"I see you have been stealing diaries again. Parvati hand it over right now or do you want a week of detention." Susan Bones commanded.

Parvati took the diary, and she threw it at Susan. Parvati used the distraction to run away. Susan looked behind the cover to see who to return the diary to. Susan's eyes almost popped out when she found out it was Dumbledore's. She flipped through it to find out who he left it to. She stopped on every page that had Harry's name on it, because she was a member of his fan club. She figured reading just one entry would be alright.

'Febuary 1st

I have finally scored the ring, but it almost took my hand. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to use Harry until it was time for him to die. I can't sadly as I can't afford to lose my other hand or anyone could defeat me. I have sat back watching Harry get more and more powerful. The final days of Harry Potter has to come soon. I have decided to take him on the next journey so he can transport the dangerous items.'

Susan couldn't believe it. Dumbledore was using Harry as a pawn, and she as a loyal member of his fan club wouldn't stand for it. She would show Dumbledore for what he was even if it was after he was already dead.

Once they had made it up to the castle, she ran up to the owlery, and she selected the fastest owl. She attached the diary and a note to the owl, and sent it to her aunt. Susan would have her revenge on anyone that would dare try to hurt Harry.
