Chapter 9: Prophecy revealed

As Erin and Harry returned from the Quidditch pitch, they came upon Professor Snape.

“You have a visitor waiting for you in Professor Dumbledore’s office, Miss Keely, and I suggest that you change clothes before you arrive.” Snape said this with his usual sneer, but it didn’t affect Erin as much as he had hoped. “Mr. Potter, you are asked to attend.” Snape walked off with the bellowing of his robes causing Erin to snigger just a bit.

Erin and Harry ran to her rooms at full speed. Harry did a quick cleaning spell upon himself but it wasn’t necessary to do so to Erin as she seemed to never need it.

“Erin, who do you think the visitor is?” Harry asked trying to look the other way as Erin tossed off her shirt and shorts and was rummaging through her things trying to find something appropriate to wear. It really wasn’t necessary that he hide his eyes, but he tried to be modest.

Harry’s pants became tight as he snuck a peek, knowing that she never wore any undergarments. It always amazed him how beautiful she was and he noticed that as the days went on, her skin glowed and at times it would glow so profoundly that it was almost blinding.

“I’m not sure Harry, but if it was my father, what I wore wouldn’t matter so much. So whoever it is, they must be important.” Erin brought out a white blouse, a fitted white bodice and a white skirt that sat low on her hip that reached her feet. She brushed out her tangled hair and braided a long thin braid along one side of her face. Slipping her delicate feet into a pair of sandals, she grabbed Harry’s hand and ran to Professor Dumbledore’s office.

Harry was curious as to why she always wore white and that she always had such simple clothing. It was all he could do to get her to put on a pair of shorts to go flying. If he hadn’t known she was fae already, he would have wondered if she was. Everything about her was delicate, mysterious and alluring.

Erin suddenly became nervous as they approached Dumbledore’s office. Panic hit her full force; she grabbed Harry’s hand and entered.

What they saw before them was a woman with golden hair and blue eyes. She looked very much like Erin. Even the clothes that the woman wore resembled that of Erin’s wardrobe. Harry froze in his spot by the door as he looked at this woman. Her skin glowed even more than Erin’s. He shook his head to bring him back to the moment and walked quietly into the room and stood near Dumbledore’s desk, as he and the Professor watched the exchange going on between the two women.

“Erin.” The woman whispered. She looked longingly at her daughter and a tear escaped her eye. “You have grown up, my beautiful child.”

Erin looked at the woman and it dawned on her that this was her mother. But her father told her she died.

The woman saw her daughter look at her with wrinkled brows and knew that this would be difficult.

“Daughter, please sit down, we have a lot to discus. Harry please, take the seat next to Erin, as you too have much to learn.” Harry looked at her puzzled and sat down. Harry looked at Dumbledore to see if the Professor knew what this was all about, and it didn’t take him long to acknowledge that the Professor did know more than he had let on. It made Harry angry to know that he was left in the dark, once again.

“Albus told me that he did inform you that you were half fae and half human, Erin. But there’s so much more to it than that.” The woman paused to look at Harry. “And Harry, please do not be angry with Albus. Much of this he did not know and what he did had to be kept a secret for both of your sakes.” Harry looked at her in shock and he realized that the woman could tell what he was thinking.

She raised her arm up with a smile. “I can not read your mind, Harry, but I can feel your emotions, most fae can do so.” Then, she addressed her daughter. “Erin, we have some problems that we need to address, but first, you will need a little history lesson before we do. And so, I will start at the beginning.”

“Sweetheart, there are many types of fae, but to be specific you are Sidhe and of the Seelie court. Our fae world has two courts; Seelie, the good and the Unseelie, the bad. You, my child, can very well be named ‘Heir’ to the Seelie court. Now, in the past it was only the full blooded Seelie Sidhe that could rule, but over the years we have discovered that what is in the heart is what truly matters. But we are not so free with our laws; you still must have strong Seelie Sidhe blood in you, which brings us to our problem.” The woman paused for a moment.

“I am the current Queen, but an ‘Heir’ must be named so that if something happens to me, we will know who will rule next. You were in hiding for your protection and to be quite honest, I had no idea that you and I would be in this position. There was a war and it wiped out my Aunt’s line. I was her niece and the only female relative left to bare the burden of Queen. And therefore you are next, but only if you prove yourself in the ‘rights of passage’. You have an older brother by my first marriage, and by law he can not be named ‘Heir’, but if he feels that you are not worthy, then he could challenge you. And sweetheart, I am sad to say, that he did indeed do just that.”

“If he feels that he is more worthy than I, then why can’t we let him have the position?” Erin asked.

“I have reason to believe he is working with the Unseelie and so for the sake of all Seelie kind, he can not be named ‘Heir’. I can not bring it up to the court until I have proof. I have no other children and no other relatives alive, so that leaves you as the last female of our line. And since he challenged you, we must prepare you. I’m sorry to put you in this position, but you must win for the sake of our kind.”

“Ma’am, I can’t help but wonder where I fit in. Why is it that I must be here?” Harry really wondered why he was included in this conversation, when it sounded like something he that he should ‘not’ be involved in at all.

“Call me Heather, Please. Harry, normally the fae don’t ask personal questions as it is considered rude, but it must be done. How has your relationship with my daughter progressed?”

Harry was flabbergasted and he blushed unbelievably. “Uh, Uh….” He started to babble and it made Erin laugh. She grabbed his hand to give him support. “Mother, we have only known each other for a week, but we do have strong feelings for each other.” Erin looked down for a moment before getting courage to continue. “We have noticed something interesting and maybe you can enlighten us. The first time we kissed passionately, we created some intense magic. There was a burst of energy and we saw a golden glow, as well as the birth of every flower imaginable surrounding us.”

Heather smiled and looked at Dumbledore to see the twinkle in his eyes. Heather looked at the two in front of her and said. “Your souls found each other and that alone will create magic. But once there is love and passion, your souls will complete the binding. And every time you touch the magic will surround you and complete you. The down side is that you will feel complete loneliness when you are not together.”

“Wait a minute.” Harry caught on to one word and he couldn’t let it pass. “Binding, what do you mean by that?” He asked. Harry saw Heather and Dumbledore shift in their seats, nervous. ‘Damn it’ he thought to himself, that is where he fit in.

Heather hoped that Harry wouldn’t catch her slip. She took a deep breath and forged on. “Harry, you and my daughter are soul bound magically. It was done when you were both just a couple of months old.”

“Professor?” Harry growled. “Does this involve another one of your prophecies that you tend to not inform me of?” Harry was pissed. Damn it, why couldn’t they just tell him the truth from the beginning instead of leading him on like this.

“Actually, Harry…” Dumbledore began. “It’s the second part of the prophecy. The first part of the prophecy required that you succeed in destroying Voldemort, but it does not stop there. A child by you and Erin is prophesied to be the one to end it all. A second wave comes and we have no idea when that will happen.”

Harry and Erin looked at each other in shock. That explained their strong attraction to each other, but the thought of a second wave scared them.
