Chapter 9: I am NOT a Mudblood
Chapter 9: I am NOT a Mudblood
Isabelle laid stomach down on her bed. She felt like rubbish over the past two months. It was about midway through the year and every day seemed to get a little more boring and a little sadder.
She couldn\'t really stand not being able to try and get with Snape; all she had was the detentions. Hermione always made sure that she was with Isabelle in class so that she wouldn\'t try anything. Isabelle found that to be quite annoying and didn\'t like her doing it. Isabelle looked down at her book and read over a poem that she had written about Snape.
I wish I could feel your touch,
Your body next to mine
Feel your breath against my ear
And be lost in time.
I wish I didn\'t have to just dream,
Of our being together
I wish I could have you near me
And it would be forever.
You are always on my mind,
No matter what I do
Every day and every night,
My thoughts turn only to you.
I feel connected to you, somehow
My feelings for you are strong
The way I feel about you,
I can\'t see how it is wrong.
You have touched me
And woke something up inside
A part of me that\'s been silent
And from the world did hide.
You are always on my mind,
I feel somehow, it\'s meant to be
I don\'t know how or why
But I feel you were sent to me
Always here, on my mind
My thoughts are all of you,
And now, I find you in my heart,
And, I don\'t know what to do.
She closed her book and slipped it in to her book bad. That book had a collection of Snape drawings, poems and letters she wanted to give to him but couldn\'t. It was all dedicated to Snape. Isabelle hopped off of her bed and headed down to the common room to see if Harry was there so she and he could have a good laugh.
Isabelle walked into the common room and just her luck she saw Harry sitting on a couch in front of the fire looking at something in the palm of his hand.
\"What you looking at Harry?\" Isabelle asked as she sat down next to him.
\"Nothing.\" Harry quickly slipped what ever he was looking at into his pocket.
\"Ok.\"
\"Do you play Quidditch?\" Harry asked.
\"Um, no.\" Isabelle shook her head.
\"Why not?\"
\"Don\'t get me wrong Harry, I love everything Quidditch but I can\'t play to save my life and I\'m petrified of heights. You\'ll never see me in the stands.\"
\"Ha!\" Harry laughed at her.
\"Harry!\" Isabelle punched him in the arm. \"That\'s not funny.\"
\"No but this is.\" Harry punched her back a little softer.
\"Oooh. You want to start a fight now Potter.\" Isabelle pushed him back.
\"Yes.\" Harry pushed Isabelle back over to the other side of the couch. They both began to fight playfully, pushing each other back and forth eventually falling on to the floor, rolling around in a pile.
\"Ahem,\" a female cleared her throat. Harry and Isabelle looked up, their faces red from the fighting.
\"Oh hello Amanda.\" Isabelle hopped off of Harry.
\"Yeah hi.\" Amanda looked a little angry. \"You two looked like you were having fun.\"
\"We… were,\" Harry said straightening his robes, feeling slightly bad that his girl friend caught him playing with another girl.
\"Good.\" Amanda sat down next to him hotly.
\"Harry fights like a girl though. He\'s got to learn to be a little rougher,\" Isabelle smirked. Harry laughed.
\"I think Harry is plenty rough,\" Amanda smirked.
\"Oh ok if you\'re talking about what I think you\'re talking about that\'s a bit too much information for my liking.\" Isabelle covered her ears. Harry laughed.
\"Harry can I talk to you?\" Amanda asked with a sly tone.
\"Yeah sure.\" Harry nodded.
\"I\'ll leave you two love birds alone.\" Isabelle smiled sweetly and walked out of the common room. She thought that going for a little walk will do her good. Isabelle crossed her arms and walked out to the court yard, wanting to get a little bit of fresh air. She walked over to a bench and sat down.
\"Hey Mudblood,\" a silky dark voice said behind her. Isabelle turned around to see the blonde boy that she had begun to hate.
\"Piss off Malfoy. I\'m not a Mudblood. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you go and accuse people,\" Isabelle retorted.
\"Oooh the new girl talks back,\" Draco laughed and his two goons accompanying him.
\"Yes I do and you would have notice if you actually paid attention in potions, as I do get detentions for retorting at Snape constantly,\" Isabelle grinned.
\"I reckon she\'s a slut,\" Draco whispered.
\"What makes you say something as random as that? I haven\'t fucked you yet.\" Isabelle thought as to what might have made him say something like that. Did he know that she liked Snape?
\"I know you want to,\" Draco smirked.
\"Yeah you wish Malfoy. Only the smart girls don\'t fuck you.\"
\"Tell me Levine, what do you do in all your detentions with Snape? Do you share a few bodily fluids?\" Draco asked snickering.
\"Oh wouldn\'t you like to know. But to your disappointment nothing happens in the detentions, but me cleaning up and doing extra work. You should know Malfoy you\'ve had your few.\"
\"Hmm, I still think you are a slut.\" Draco rubbed his chin, thinking.
\"I assure you I am not, well not really.\" Isabelle stood up.
\"Not really? What is that supposed to mean?\" Draco\'s eyes flashed.
\"Oh I know you\'d so like to know what I do. Maybe if you were a little nicer you\'d be able to see.\" Isabelle stepped closer to Draco, slowly backing him into a wall. Her face was only a few center meters away from his. \"But unfortunately I don\'t sleep with guys that have been with nearly every girl in the school.\" Isabelle took a step back.
\"So you are a slut.\" Draco grinned. I know she wants me. Look at her, she\'s all over me
\"God Malfoy who ever supplied you with the brains you have must be really stupid.\"
\"Excuse me? I am a pureblood. I\'m way better then you in every way.\"
\"Oh and you being pureblood makes you so much better then everyone else does it? That\'s bullocks Malfoy. All the muggleborns and half bloods here are much better then you. You couldn\'t amount to anything that they do. You are a pathetic excuse for life Malfoy. You probably shouldn\'t even have been born.\"
\"What about you huh? You were given away at birth am I not right?\" Draco grinned knowing that this would get her angry. Isabelle frowned. \"You were given away because you REAL parents didn\'t want you and who did you have to go to? A pair of squibs who can\'t have their own kid.\" Isabelle stared at him angrily.
\"How dare you!\" Isabelle lunged at the blonde haired boy pushing him up against the stone wall holding him by the neck. Tears of anger began to fall from her eyes at the thought of what Draco said. \"You really are pathetic Malfoy,\" Isabelle hissed. Draco\'s face began to turn pale. \"My parents wanted me 20 times as much as your parents wanted you! I know your father doesn\'t give a crap about you! All he wants from you is to get married and have an heir before he dies and your mother is a stupid little tart who fell for the wrong man and got pregnant with a child just like him! You are just like your father Malfoy, another pathetic little morsel of life!\" Isabelle still held Draco up against the wall. Crabbe and Goyle just watched them.
\"MISS LEVINE, let him go!\" Snape\'s solid voice said behind her. Isabelle released her grip on the annoying blonde boy, regrettably. Draco fell to the floor taking in deep breaths. \"Thank you.\" Snape walked over to Draco. \"Mr. Malfoy leave Miss Levine alone. I do not want to see you anywhere near her again,\" Snape demanded. Draco looked up at the professor in shock.
\"She was coming at me!\" Draco choked.
\"Yes, but you started all of this.\" Snape looked at Isabelle who was wiping away her tears. Draco and his goons left the spot, mumbling angrily. Draco hit both of his goons on the head angrily. Muttering mean words telling them off for not helping him when Isabelle was choking him.
\"I could have done this on my own. Why did you stop me?!\" Isabelle shouted.
\"Because I\'m not supposed to let things like this happen,\" Snape said softly. \"Oh and 20 points from Gryffindor.\"
\"Oh yeah thanks!\" Isabelle said sarcastically. \"You should have heard what he said. I could have handled him. Thanks for breaking it up!\" Isabelle was angry that she didn\'t get what she really wanted out of Draco. She ran off heading towards the library. Snape looked around at the few students that were left staring at him after Isabelle had shouted at him.
\"What do you think you are all looking at?\" Snape hissed. He turned around and walked off.
Isabelle walked into the library, tears of hurt falling down her cheeks. What if Draco was right about her real parents? What if they didn\'t want her and didn\'t like her? Maybe she was just a mistake that they couldn\'t get rid of till she was born.
Isabelle sat down in the dark corner of the library and rested against the wall. She pulled her legs up to her chest and rested her head on her knees. How did Draco know that she was adopted? She hadn\'t told anyone but Harry, Ron, Hermione and Amanda. Isabelle closed her eyes and thought for a little while.
*****
Snape walked towards the library to find a book that he needed. He wondered what was really wrong with Isabelle. She wasn\'t as happy as she was at the start of the year and she seemed edgy and she didn\'t seem to talk back as much as she had at the start. He had begun to like her for some extremely odd reason, he never liked anyone. There was just something about her that made him feel a little different. She seemed bright. Every time she walked into the room it felt as though it lit up... but not so much anymore.
Snape walked in to the library and over to a bookshelf in the dark part of the library. He searched the spines of the books looking for the one he needed. He founded it on the top shelf. He reached up and pulled it out. He heard a little rustling from the other side off the book shelf. He took the book in his hand and walked around to the other side of the book shelf.
Snape looked around for where the noise was coming from. On the floor he saw Isabelle sleeping in a curled up position. Snape watched her as she slept her body moving with her breaths. He hesitated as to whether he should wake her or not. He stood up straight.
\"Miss Levine!\" Snape barked. Isabelle shot up she looked around and saw Snape.
\"Go away,\" Isabelle grumbled.
\"Miss Levine I think it would be best if you went to your room to sleep. The library is hardly suitable.\" Snape gave out a hand to help her up.
\"Fine.\" Isabelle pushed his hand away from her. \"I can get up on my own, thanks.\" Isabelle pushed herself up off of the ground. She looked up at Snape for a while, their eyes locking together. Isabelle stared into his eyes. She saw nothing but pure darkness, just what she had expected from him, what she had liked.
\"Miss Levine?\" Snape droned. He knew that the girl liked him it was ever so obvious, her amounts of continues detentions and ogling him at every bloody chance. No one had stared at him like that before, well people have but not in her kind of manor. Isabelle snapped out of her staring faze.
\"Good bye professor.\" Isabelle walked past Snape softly hitting his shoulder as she did so. Isabelle just walked straight up to the common room. Not stopping to talk to anyone, just wanting to sleep a little more. Maybe Hermione was right. Maybe Isabelle had to get over Snape.
Snape stood in the same spot thinking about Isabelle. She seemed so complicated in her mind. She was strong on the outside but somewhere there was a glitch and you could make her do anything if you just found the glitch and played with it. Snape wanted to find the glitch and get the girl.
He took the book and walked right out of the library not even telling Madame Pince that he had taken the book.
