The Good, the Bad and the Death Eater

Hey All welcome to my first ever Fan Fiction, most of the characters are not mine no matter how much I would love them to be. The only character that is mine is Aphrodite Taylor, she is mine all mine, he he. Hope you enjoy.

Matters of the Heart

Aphrodite woke up the next morning in strange surroundings, she wasn\'t in her own room. She sat up in the bed she was in, there were muggle posters all around the room, it suddenly dawned on her that she was in Dion\'s bed. Dion was no where to be seen though, best thing to do was to get dressed and go to breakfast. On her way to the great hall all kind of thoughts passed through her mind, who did she want to be with? Severus or Dion? maybe neither, she couldn\'t make head nor tail over these thoughts. On the one side Severus was a strong man, not overly bad looking but didn\'t seem capable of opening up about his feelings, whereas Dion shared her passion for football and other muggle things, he also knew how to comfort her and seemed to care for her more then Severus did. When she reached the great hall she saw Dion sitting in Remus usual seat leaving a space between him and Severus, once again this was the only seat left as Remus was now sitting next to Sirius and Sinistra. Severus seemed to be in one of his foulest moods but she had to sit next to him and bare it, as she sat down he looked up and scowled at her.

\"Sugar Plum!! Where did you end up lad night? eh?\" Came a shout from across the table, it seemed every knew about her not making it back to her room.

\"Never you mind\" she replied, Severus looked up at her, although she wasn\'t aware, he\'d had enough for one morning so he got up to leave but before he could Sirius decided to bring him into the conversation.

\"Sev you went looking for her last night didn\'t ya? Weren\'t in her room was she? awww same old, same old for ya aint it? always having bad look with women...oh an Dion mate well done, I hear ya tamed my little Sugar Plum?\"

Aphrodite went a deep shade of scarlet and lowered her head, Dion grinned but said nothing, Severus looked hurt and angry, he wanted to shout back at Sirius but he decided to storm out instead. Witnessing what just happened Aphrodite felt really guilty and couldn\'t actually finish her breakfast, with only a few days left of the christmas holiday she decided to head back to her room and prepare for the lessons in the new year. She sat down to work on her lesson plans next to a nicely lit fire, the warmth was so lovely that she soon grew tired and fell into a light sleep. Her dreams were short lived as there was a thumping knock at her door \'Come in\' she managed to say and in walked Dion.

\"Aphrodite, I need to tell you something, it can\'t wait, if I don\'t do now I\'ll regret it forever\"

\"Umm OK, what is it?\" she asked with interest

\"Well, thing is last when I saw you with Severus I was really jealous and I didn\'t know why, then he upset you, so I went to comfort you and that\'s when I realised\" He said, hardly breathing in-between sentences.

\"Realise what?\" she knew of course what he had meant but wanted him to clarify it.

\"That I\'m in love with you and have been for a while, just took me sometime to realise it\" He finally declared it, Aphrodite looked into his eyes, she found comfort. He held his arms open for her to walk into, which she did without hesitation, they embraced each other for a few moments before he kissed her passionately, this was the start of a new adventure for them both.

\"I\'ll be back soon, I just need to make sure Severus is ok after the ball and this morning\" She said whilst putting on her shoes

\"Hmm, I wouldn\'t bother, he didn\'t deserve you any way, I saw the way he was forever having a go at you, I\'ve never been a fan of him\" he growled at her and she glared at him saying he was wrong about Severus. Dion wasn\'t having any of it but he had no choice in letting her go because by time he tried to stop her she had vanished.

On her way down to Severus\'s room she started to get butterflies in her stomach, she knew he liked her but not to the extent of him walking out of the great hall because of a few comments. She reached his door, took a deep breath and knocked loudly, she waited for a few minutes before he came an answered the door. he looked tired and something was clearly on his mind, he stood in the doorway and looked at her, she looked into his eyes, then she looked onto the floor because she couldn\'t bring herself to look at him.

\"I suppose you better come in\" he said quietly, Aphrodite still couldn\'t look at him and she stood inside his room, she looked around, his bed was made but that was the only tidy part of his room, it appeared to Aphrodite that Severus wasn\'t ok, the room had clearly been trashed. She gasped when she looked at his mirror, the mirror was shattered with glass all over the floor.

\"Severus, are you ok?\" Daft question she thought but she really didn\'t know what to say.

\"Yes, Im fabulous, can\'t you tell?\" He said scathingly, he sat in the only chair that wasn\'t upturned, his head was in his hands and he let out a big sigh. Aphrodite had no idea what to do, she thought of fetching Dumbledore but the stopped because Severus might not want the whole of Hogwarts knowing his business, she walked over to him and knelt beside him, putting her hands on his shoulders.

\"Im so sorry\" she mumbled, she pulled him to her chest and held him. She felt helpless, knowing that it was her that caused this.

\"What for? its my own fault for allowing myself to become emotionally attached to a pretty woman who could never love me for who I am\" He replied trying not to sound to hurt, she looked at him, self pity didn\'t suit him.

\"Well, I couldn\'t love someone who found it necessary to have a go at me at every given moment\" she had intended to say it but hadn\'t intended to say it so bitterly. She stood up and backed off a bit, she didn\'t know how he was going to react to that comment, he didn\'t shout or go crazy, he just got up and went into the bathroom, locking the door behind him. Aphrodite could have left at that moment, but she decided to sort out his room, he couldn\'t live in a mess, she had no doubt he\'d tidy it up but she felt somewhat responsible. A few hours of cleaning up Aphrodite had almost finished when Severus finally reappeared from the bathroom, she gave a faint smile towards Aphrodite and told her he\'d finish cleaning his mess up, she said her goodbyes, told him if he ever needed to talk she\'d be there for him and then she left.

Back in her room with Dion she wasn\'t saying much about her visit to Severus\'s room, no matter how much Dion asked, she lay on her bed and closed her eyes, she tried to stop thinking of how hurt Severus was, she told Dion she didn\'t feel very well, so he left her to sleep. She was confident she\'d picked the right man, but she still didn\'t feel happy with herself. All her life she\'d been waiting for the right man to enter her life, a man to love her for who she was and after all this time two men loved her, once upon a time she\'d have begged for the chance to choose between to men but now she had done so she didn\'t think the idea was all it was cracked up to be. After a few hours of lying on her bed thinking about it all she decided to get up and find Dion, if he neglected him she\'d loose him, then end up with no one
