Epilogue
Leonis Maxis Black came into the world at three in the morning screaming angrily. His sister Ursa Aurora Black came into the world five minutes later. Leonis calmed down the moment his sister joined him lying down on Hermione’s chest. With tears in his eyes, Sirius kept kissing them all and whispering that he couldn’t believe it was happening. Once the babies were fed and put into their cribs to sleep, he joined her in the bed.
“They are beautiful,” he whispered to her. “So bloody perfect.”
“Hmm,” she hummed, not having the energy to do more than that.
“And you are perfect,” he told her, kissing her temple.
Hermione looked into his eyes, brushing her fingers through his hair. “I love you.”
“And I you, my angel,” he whispered. “Now get some rest.”
Visitors came and went. Molly was in tears of joy even as Ginny was trying as she might for what must have been the millionth time to grill Hermione about what she knew about Harry. She never got the opportunity as Sirius took her off to the side and threatened to hex her into next year if she didn’t let his wife rest. Arthur Weasley brought cigars for one and all, saying that it was just right for celebrating a birth.
Harry and Remus came with stuffed animals for the newborns. Remus ended up with Ursa cradled in his arms as Harry held Leonis. The room was a hive of activity that only got worse with the arrival of Bill, his wife Fleur, Charlie, the twins, and Mad Eye Moody.
Hermione smiled as she kissed Sirius’s cheek tenderly. “We did it.”
“What?” he asked.
“We’re a family,” she whispered, nodding to the others.
He looked at them all and felt contentment for the first time. With a slow smile he cuddled up with his wife. They needed their rest. The family could look after the children for now.
