Chapter 8
The Holiday break has ended on a sour note. Now Ron as well as Harry were not friendly with Hermione or Ginny since they found out she has been dating Blaise Zabini the past six months. Ginny didn't really mind Ron not talking to her. He was always trying to tell her what to do, and she was grateful for the peace and quiet. Ginny and Hermione started sitting away from the boys and keeping their distance. They were enjoying lunch between classes when Lavender joined them.
"Hey girls, hows everything going so far? Its been a month since you guys haven't spoken to each other." she stated.
"We're fine" stated Ginny. " Them two just don't approve of the guys we're dating" she said casually.
" You two have boyfriends? Since when?" she asked.
" Well I've been with mine for about 7 months and Hermione has been with hers for almost a year in a half" said Ginny grining.
" Wow." said Lavender taking this information in. Lavender noticed somthing sparkling on Hermiones left hand. She got up and walked to Hermiones other side and picked up her hand her jaw dropping.
"Hermione, is that an Engagement ring?" she asked quietly. Hermione smiled and blushed.
"Yes, my boyfriend proposed to me on Christmas" she said still smiling. Lavender squeeled so loud that the whole hall turned and faced the Gryffindor table. They saw Lavender hug Hermione and jump up and down.
"I can't belive your getting married!" she said loud enough for the whole hall to hear including the staff table. Hermiones face turned bright red as murmers of shock and excitment filled the hall. Over at the Slytherin table, Draco froze as Lavender annouced to everyone that Hermione was engaged.
"Who would want to marry that filthy little piece of shit" Pansy said as the Slythreins snickered.
Draco clenched his fists together and started to get up and kick her ass when Blaise put a hand on his shoulder and told him to relax. The warning bell rang forthe start of next class. Draco knew he and Hermione should tell people soon.
Later that night in their dorm, they discussed when to tell everyone. They decided to enter the Great Hall in the morning along with Blaise and Ginny who would also reveal their secret. Hermione sat in Dracos arms on the couch in their common room. She needed to tell Draco about the baby. She was three months and a half months and already began to show a little stomace.
"Draco," she siad as he rubbed her shouldes.
"Yes my dear" he replied.
"You remember that night in October?" she asked.
"Yes I do, it was the best night of my life" he said as he smirked. " I can't wait till the next time."
Hermione laughed. "Well I wanted to tell you this at Christmas time, but with the excitement of everything I kinda lost track of time"
"Whats the matter?" he asked
She turned and looked at him with watery eyes and a smile on her face.
"Draco" she said holding her stomace " I'm pregnant." she said quietly.
Draco looked into her eyes, his own getting watery. His face finally broke into a smile and he kissed her and held her.
"How far along are you?" he asked
"Almost 4 months. I found out on Christmas. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." she said as tears fell down her cheeks.
"Its ok, darling. But you should really tell Prof. McGonagall. You may need pre natal care." he said.
"I will before classes tommorow." she replied.
"Who else knows?" he asked
"Just Ginny"she replied.
"Does she know about your ....father?" he asked.
"No. Only you do." she replied " I have no reason to tell anybody"
Hermione sat back in Draco's arms and snuggled close to him. They ended up falling asleep with her head on his chest and his hands on her stomace. Tommorow would be a big day for them. The entire school would learn that day that Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy were a couple and engaged. And of all days it had to happen on Valentines Days.
