Chapter Eight

Ginny walked into the door of her apartment late in the night to find Ruby asleep on the couch.Ginny had stayed at Draco's until nearly midnight,making love to him over and over again.

Making love to Draco was a new experience for Ginny.And what a wonderful one it was.It was new and exciting,not like when she and Ruby had ever done it,likewise with Harry.She would have never guessed someone like Draco could be such a gentle lover,but he was.She'd expected him to be rough and forceful,part of her wished he had been.It would have then made it easier for her to realize what a mistake they were making.Ginny was with Ruby,and she loved her...right?

As Ginny had been walking home,she had began to question her feelings for Ruby.The two had been together for nearly three years,and Ginny had been happy with her.She regretted her decision to sleep with Draco greatly,but part of her was happy she had.Now she didn't know what to do.

Ginny was faced with a big dilema.She couldn't just shrug off what she had done with Draco.She had cheated on Ruby,the only person she had ever loved.She had thought at one point she was in love with Harry,but Ruby made her realize that hadn't been true.And now she had completely betrayed her long time girlfriend.She had commited adultrey.

During her and Draco's love making,all Ginny could think about was how gorgeous her new lover was and how right this all felt.Being with a man was different than being with a woman and after that night,Ginny doubted if she would be able to go back home and everything be the same.

When Ginny walked in the door of her and Ruby's apartment,she was terrified that ruby would be able to tell right away what had gone on at Draco's for she knew that was where she was going.Ginny had told her that she was just going to visit him because he was an old friend from school,which was partly true.

Guilt weighed down Ginny concience as she walked inside and realized Ruby had been waiting up for her.Not wanting to awake her girlfriend,Ginny simply placed a blanket on her sleeping form and went into their bedroom.

Draco had really worn Ginny out so she decided to go right to sleep.She undressed as quietly as she could,careful not to step on the spots on the floor which creak so she would not awake Ruby,who,unlike herself,was a very light sleeper.

After putting on her pajamas Ginny crawled into the large queen sized bed she and Ruby shared.She quickly drifted off to sleep.

Ginny was sitting in her bedroom getting dressed.She was getting ready to go see Draco again.Since their first night together she'd been longing to see him again and had be delighted when he'd called her.Suddenly,in walked Ruby,her eyes red from crying.

"What's wrong?"Ginny asked,worried.Ruby never cried.

"You cheated on me!"Ruby shouted,her voice hysterical,more tears streaming down her face.She thrusted a peice of paper she'd been holding into Ginny's hands.Ginny took the paper and looked at it.It was a picture of her and Draco in his apartment,kissing.

"I loved you and you fucked him!"Ruby shouted.Ginny ripped up the picture and threw the shreds to the floor."How could you do something like this to me?"

"I-I didn't."Ginny said the first thing that came to her mind.She didn't know what to do.She'd never thought about Ruby finding out.Now she'd broken her heart.

"Don't you dare lie to me,Ginny!I saw you."Ruby shouted,her voice full of hurt.

"But-"

"I can't believe you fucked him!"Ruby shouted,interupting Ginny's excuse.Ruby collapsed onto the floor,shaking uncontrollably."I thought you loved me..."Ginny felt a lump in her throat and guilt welling up in her stomach.How could she have done this to her?

"I do love you!"Ginny said,attempting to reach out and touch her crying girlfriend,but she pulled away.

"No!No you don't!"Ruby shouted,not looking Ginny in the eye."I can't believe you fucked him."Ginny couldn't find something to say to comfort her.She was caught,nothing would change what she had done.

"I'm sorry."Was all she could say.She was too,she really was.How could she have been so selfish.

"No you're not!You were going to do it again!Don't lie!"Ruby shouted,getting louder and louder with each sentence."I can't believe you fucked him..."Ginny felt overwhelmed.What could she really say to make this better?Her brain didn't seem to be working properly.Lying wasn't working,saying sorry wasn't working.Nothing was going to make this better.She'd done a dirty thing and nothing she could say would change that.

"I hate you."Ruby spoke,very calmly.She stood up and looked at Ginny with fire in her hazel eyes.

"You don't mean that,"Ginny said,backing away."you don't know what you're saying."Ginny backed up into a wall but Ruby kept advancing.

"I hate you!"Ruby shouted again,coming closer.

"No!Don't say that!"

"I HATE YOU!"Ruby's fist connected with Ginny's stomach.Ginny double over in pain.Ruby was very strong for someone so skinny.She punched Ginny again,hard in the stomach.Ginny tasted the coppery taste of blood in her mouth.Ruby just kept hitting her and hitting her over and over again until she was on the ground,gasping for breath and spitting up blood.Ruby then began to walk away,leaving Ginny laying there,barely concious.

Suddenly,everything started dissolving.The walls of the room were melting around the two and Ruby was disapearing.Ginny felt panic.She tried to escape the fading away room but the door melted away when she reached it.She screamed out but no one was around to hear her.Everything went black.

Ginny awoke with a start,feeling a cold sweat on her pale skin.She was panting heavily and loudly.She galnced at her clock and saw it was nearly 5:00 a.m..It had all been a dream.What an odd dream it was.And it had seemed so real.

Ginny finally understood.The dream was a warning.A warning telling her this could not go on.She had to stop things with Draco unless she wanted to hurt Ruby like in her dream.

Ginny knew what she had to do.She had to go over to Draco's tomorrow and break things off.It was the only way not to hurt anyone.She couldn't bare to make Ruby cry.
