Wanting Acceptance
Hey All welcome to my first ever Fan Fiction, most of the characters are not mine no matter how much I would love them to be. The only character that is mine is Aphrodite Taylor, she is mine all mine, he he. Hope you enjoy.
Wanting Acceptance
The Yule ball was about to start in ten minutes, Severus was waiting for Aphrodite to turn up, any moment now she\'d walk down the stairs and greet him, he was going to enjoy this ball, he had enjoyed the last ball with Sinistra but there was no chemistry between them, twenty minutes later and Aphrodite still hadn\'t turned up, he was beginning to get impatient. A further ten minutes later, Remus and Rolanda had walked past arm in arm and still there was no sign of Aphrodite. He resigned to the fact she had decided not to show up at all so he took a walk onto a balcony over looking the lake, he could see the oak tree on the otherside of the lake thinking about the time he had to rescue her after they had argued and she had fallen in. He shook his head in disbelief, all these years teaching at Hogwarts and he\'s never even so much looked at another member of staff in a certain way, never mind develop feelings for them, he looked down at the floor, there was a little area of sand where the lake started and he could see two shadows down there mucking about, looking closer he could make out that it was Sirius and Sinistra \'at least there having fun\' he thought.
Severus was too wrapped up in his own thoughts he hadn\'t noticed Aphrodite walk up behind him, she saw him looking subdued and went right behind him and put her arms on his waist, he flinched but didn\'t look round.
\"I see Sirius and Sinistra are having fun\" she said softly, he pull her arms all way round his body and held her hand.
\"Indeed\" he sighed, he let go of her hands and turned round to face her, she was beautiful, she wasn\'t wearing her trademark black dress complete with black hair, this time she had a white dress on, she looked slightly better in white Severus thought, he had never noticed her green eyes before either, they were beautiful just like the rest of her. Aphrodite looked into his eyes and saw pain, she instantly knew he liked her, she could feel it when she touched him. She reached out for his hands and pulled him close to her, he was freezing.
\"How long you been standing out here?\" she asked
\"Not long\" he replied, but she didn\'t believe him, she rested her head on his shoulders and kissed him on the neck, he shuddered and kissed her back. Aphrodite smiled, he was what she wanted right now, took her a while to realise it. He looked at the clock, it was quarter past nine, the ball had been going on for just over an hour so he took her inside because she too was now starting to get cold, as they walked in Dion walked past and whispered something in Aphrodite\'s ear, it must have either been good news or something funny because she had a big smile of her face.
\"What did he just say to you?\" Severus wanted to know
\"I asked him to find out something for me, which he did and he just told me what he found out, don\'t worry bout it\"
Severus led her to the dance floor, she put her arms around him and kissed him.
\"Hmm\"
\"What?\" she asked
\"Nothing\" he replied dryly and looked her in the eyes
\"Fine! he told me West Ham were top of the football league, O.K?\" she said bitterly, Clearly this wasn\'t ok because he led her to the side of the hall.
\"Why does football come into everything?\" he snapped
\"Eh? We have NEVER spoken about football\" she snapped back
\"You and HIM, always going on about it, its boring\" he was still snapping causing her to go crazy and rage at him.
\"ME and HIM? YOUR KIDDING? OH FOR GODS SAKES SERVERUS!\" and she made to leave but he grabbed her by the arm.
\"Why can\'t you just drop it for one night?\"
\"Why can\'t you accept my liking for the muggle sport?\" she snarled
\"Because...\" he didn\'t know what to say, he couldn\'t say it was because it made her appear closer to Dion then she was to him
\"Because what? C\'mon tell me! I accept your flaws, why can\'t you accept mine?!\" Aphrodite was back to shouting, he looked at her, she saw pain in his eyes again and then he stormed off, leaving her to sit down on a near by chair and put her head in her hands.
\"They\'ll never get on Albus, he won\'t accept her liking for muggle things, he\'s too stubborn, she\'ll end up heart broken\" Minerva said to her dance partner.
\"If any one can make him happy its her, he just hasn\'t realised it yet, she\'ll be fine, she has people to help her through it, speaking of help here\'s Remus, he had to take Rolanda back to her room, she was drunk\" he said with a laugh
Remus was half way across the floor wen Dion stopped him and asked him to take over with Poppy for a while, Remus being the gentleman obliged and Dion made way for Aphrodite, he comforted her and took her outside onto the sand where Sirius and Sinistra had been earlier, she was sobbing uncontrollably so Dion sat her down and sat directly behind her so she was in-between his legs, he wrapped his arms around her and told her everything would be alright.
Little did she know Severus came back to apologise for his behaviour, but when he got back to the hall he couldn\'t find her, so he went to the balcony, \'Maybe she\'ll appear if I stand here again\' he got to the edge of the balcony and looked on the sand, two shadows were there again, but it wasn\'t Sirius and Sinistra, it was Aphrodite and Dion.
\"You\'ll loose her\" came a soft male voice from behind him, he turned to see Remus
\"What would you know? she hardly speaks to you any more\" snapped Severus
\"Exactly, we said we\'d be friends forever and since Dion turned up she\'s hardly had time for me, so what makes you think you got a better chance?\" Remus asked him quietly, Severus just looked at him and then down at Aphrodite, Remus was right, he was loosing her before he even got her.
