Chapter 8

Authors Note: I apologize for not updating sooner. I have had one virus after another on my computer. I have also had some health problems that resulted in
an unexpected surgery. I will be updating this weekly until it is completed and will welcome any reviews to try to improve my future writing. I own nothing except the story idea and Angelina and Lucinda Moonstar. Thank you for your patience. Please
review.

Harry, Minerva and Albus were unable to return to their evening plans. Hermione
and Ron tried to take Harrys' mind off of this afternoon's events but failed miserably.
Finally, Hermione stood up, grabbed both young men by a shoulder and pointed them
towards the door and eventually Dumbledore's office.
"There is only one way to settle this-we need to get some answers from Dumbledore.
No more hedging or waiting for the future. I think we all deserve some answers, including
Angelina. I will swear she is in as much of the dark as we are. Now don't dawdle-I don't
want to lose my nerve."
Ron and Harry looked at each other arching eyebrows(in a scary dead on imitation of
Snape), shrugged and standing straighter strode purposely down the halls.
Reaching the gargoyle at the entrance to the Headmasters' office-the passage was
already open. They snickered at one another, of course, he knew they were on their way.
Minerva and Albus were waiting in the sitting room area in front of the fire.
"Please sit down. Would anyone care for tea or snacks?" Albus asked.
When it was established that no one wanted refreshments-Dumbledore sighed and
began his story.
"I know that you are all here wanting answers. Yes, I realize now that you deserve to
know more about Angelina and unfortunately I fear that the wrong individuals already do.
Let me begin by stating that this will bet dit difficult for you Harry, but I know that your
friends will help you with acceptance of the situation. Angelina does not know what I am
about to tell you, neither for that matter, does Minerva. Severus is the only one and I
will admit that he has told me repeatedly that I was wrong to keep this from you. Harry-
when your parents were attacked-your father was set upon first, Voldemort thought he
had killed him but he had not. When he attacked your mother-she died-then he went after you and failed. In that moment he lost, very nearly, all of his powers thus not realizing James
was alive-barely. James was taken into hiding to begin his recovery. It was decided
immediately to let the public believe he was dead. After a year and a half in a hospital
with no results pointing to the salvaging of his mind-he was taken to live at the Moonstar
residence. Lucinda worked with him daily and finally he was able to help with research
for several secret missions against Deatheaters. James fell in love with Lucinda and they
married secretly-everyone at the Ministry who had to be involved in the paperwork of their
marriage was obliviated afterwards. Lucinda became pregnant and on the night that
Angelina was born-Deatheaters attacked their home and killed Lucinda and James .
It was previously arranged for me to immediately take Angelina and conceal her with a
muggle family. Angelina is your half sister Harry. Do you now understand why you have
always felt so protective of her? She is also a Parseltongue and a healer, although she
has rainraining in handling her powers yet. While Voldemort transferred a large portion
of his powers to you on the night he tried to kill you, Angelina inherited her immensely
potent powers from two Pureblood lines. She will be more powerful than you are one
day Harry. And to answer the next question-again, she knows none of this. I should
have told you sooner, I know that now." Dumbledore looked into the face of the
young man sitting across from him.
Harry, for his part was trying to absorb what he had just heard. Pieces of thoughts
were drifting through his mind but no coherent words. Then the emotions kicked in
and the anger rose to the forefront.
"How could you do this to us? Manipulating me all these years, turning me into
your private assasin-I can almost handle. But now to find out that you've wasted at
least 6 years-wait not wasted-robbed us of 6 years of familial bonding. That is
unforgiveable, considering you know how much I miss my parents, the ache for
a loving family that reaches down to my very soul. I need to get out of here before
I say something that... I can't stand to be in the same room with you right now."
Harry began his descent down the stairs so swiftly, he was gone before the
others could turn to watch him go. He had no idea where he was heading-but as
far away from Dumbledore as possible within the castle walls was a beginning. It
all made sense now-protectiveness, the comforting feeling, same perseverence
and survival instincts. Both of us are Parseltongues-that was still unusual-even
he realized that. Still a million thoughts, too many too fast for him to single out.
He wanted to go to her but he decided to wait for the morning after her collapse
this afternoon. In the morning, he would visit Angelina and give her the news
with Professor Snape present. At least he had been on Dumbledore about this-
Harry could only imagine the harshness of his words to Dumbledore, considering
his feelings for Angelina. Hopefully they were delivered with the same intensity
he always directed at Ron and himself. He wandered the castle for quite some
time. Suddenly his face lit up with a grin that could light a Christmas tree. The
only thought in his mind-I have a sister, I have family.
