What Is This Feeling?

A/N: Sorry for the long wait I didn't know how to write this chapter I re-wrote it like six times before i was finally happy with it haha well enjoy!

Chapter 7: Get To Know You

Mitch and Hermione walked into the Great Hall holding hands both were smiling and Mitch said something to make Hermione laugh. Everyone that was watching the two walk in had smiles on theirs faces that is every one but one person.

The two girls sat down at the Gryffindor table across Ron and Harry greeting each other by saying ‘Good Morning’ all four began to pile their plates with some food. They ate and talked about the Halloween Ball coming up and how Mitch would be providing entertainment.

“What are you going to do exactly?” Ron asked with an almost mouth full of food.

“I’ll be up there on stage for about an hour or show singing and playing my guitar. I have some friends coming, so they can be the band well since we are a band,” she told them then taking a sip of her orange juice. They continued to talk about the Ball when Draco came up to them, “Mitch, Hermione a word in private,” he said briefly and not waiting for them to respond he walked out of the Great Hall.

Mitch and Hermione excused themselves and followed Draco, both already knowing what it’s about. They met him just outside the doors, “I believe you two know what this is about” he started.

“Changing the password to our dorms” Mitch stated.

“Exactly now I came up with a password and instead of saying out loud I wrote down for you both after you read it the parchment with go up in flames,” he told them as he handed them the piece of parchment. They both glanced at the new password for a few moments before it went up in flames.

“Now no one will know the password but us three I do not like that Jessie girl that showed up last night and I thank Merlin that I do not have to be in the same common room as her. If there’s anything you two need please don’t be afraid to ask,” he told them honestly.

“Thanks Draco I appreciate it,” Mitch said with a smile and a nod.

“Thank you Draco that means a lot,” Hermione said as she took Mitch’s hand in hers and laced their fingers together.

“Don’t mention it I’ll see you two in class,” and with that Draco walked back into the Great Hall.

“Come on let’s finish breakfast then get to our first class,” Hermione suggested and started to walk into the Great Hall but Mitch stopped her and pulled her close.

“We got time,” she said as she started to lean in. Hermione tried to catch her breath, as she leaned in as well wanting to feel those lips again.

“Mitch, where did you go?”

Both Mitch and Hermione broke apart and Mitch closed her eyes knowing that voice belonged to Jessie, “Just shoot me now,” Mitch whispered to Hermione.

Hermione shook her head and said, “Let’s just get back in there, eat and then get to class.”

“Okay but first,” Mitch said with a smile and gave Hermione a small kiss. Hermione smiled and returned the kiss; they both smiled at each other and walked back into the Great Hall only to see Jessie sitting at their spot talking to Ron and Harry. They looked at each other and nodded without saying a word they started to walk to their first class.

“Okay now she’s trying to make good with your friends,” Mitch said as they walked.

“I don’t like it,” Hermione said softly. Mitch stopped walking and pulled Hermione close to her, “Look, all I have to do is explain to those guys what’s she’s like and I’m pretty sure they’ll believe me and you and not her,” she told the concerned Gryffindor.

“Why is it you know the right things to say?” she asked with a smile.

“I don’t always say the right thing baby girl,” she answered truthfully, “Now come on, you have to show me to class remember,” she said with a smile.

Hermione laughed as they continued to walk to their first class which was Potions. Professor Snape said that Dumbledore wanted the two girls to be partners and to Hermione’s surprise he wasn’t nasty at all on the first day.

Before they went to class she had warned Mitch on how nasty Snape could be and that he only favored Slytherins, but for some reason he was being in a word nice. It was weird but in a good way, but no body knows how long this act would last.

After Potions they had Muggle Studies then History of Magic which Mitch ended up falling asleep in and Hermione had to wake her up at least three times. All in all they were glad they only had one class with Jessie and that was Potions, and of course she couldn’t take her eyes of the couple, and that bothered Mitch. She knows what her ex is capable of and she will do anything in her power to stop Jessie’s plan once she knows about it.

When classes were finished Mitch finally got to roll up her sleeves and un-tuck her shirt and loosen her tie, “I don’t how you guys handle uniforms,” she said as she sat down and started to pile food on her plate.

“Well after seven years you kind of get used to it,” Harry said with a small laugh.

“Yeah you do I mean it’s not that bad,” Ron said just before he started to dig into the food that was piled on his plate. Everyone let out a small laugh and began to talk about the upcoming Halloween Ball, along with the first visit to Hogsemeade coming up soon Hermione, Luna, and Ginny made plans to go shopping for dresses then Hermione would spend time with Mitch after the guys showed her around.

Jessie walked into the Great Hall and saw Mitch and all of her new friends laughing and having a grand old time. She didn’t like what she saw, “That should be me not her,” she muttered to herself as she walked to the Slytherin table and sat down next to Pansy and kept looking over at the Gryffindor table. Pansy followed her American friend’s gaze and saw that she was looking over at Mitch and Hermione.

“Do you have a thing for that Mitch girl?” Pansy asked

“More like I’m not over her, she broke up with me a while ago and she always told me that we would get back together down the road and I was hoping we would get back together now,” Jessie told her sadly.

“Why did she break up with you?” Pansy ask wanting to know more.

“She didn’t love me and she didn’t want to get married she said that she wasn’t ready for any kind of commitment like that and that she would need time,” she told her.

“And you want to win her back?”

Jessie nodded, “More than you know”

“I can help you if you want” Pansy said with a smile.

Jessie smiled back at her, “That would be great,” she said and looked back over at Mitch she couldn’t help but think that soon Mitch would be hers again.

Dinner ended and Mitch had her arm around Hermione as they walked back to their room.

“How did you like your first day at Hogwarts?” Hermione asked.

“I have to say I’ve learned more here than I did at my school,” she told her truthfully as they reached their room, Mitch took a look around to make sure they weren’t followed, “Okay it’s safe” she told Hermione so she could say the password.

“Good, now let’s give the new password a try shall we,” Hermione said as Mitch kissed her temple and smiled.

“Sanctuary,” Hermione said softly but loud enough for the portrait to open, “Well hey what do you know it worked,” Mitch said with a small laugh and walked in with Hermione.

Mitch dropped her bag and plopped down on the couch with a sigh, “How much longer til we graduate?” she asked as Hermione walked over and sat next to her.

“Don’t worry it will be here before you know it,” she said with a smile as Mitch put her arm around her, pulling her closer to her.

They sat there in silence just enjoy each other company staring at the fire that was already lit no doubt Draco was there before they were. After a few more moments of silence Hermione looked up at Mitch who had a look of concentration and she wanted to know what she was thinking so she asked, “What are you thinking about?”

“About a lot of things,” She answered her eyes not leaving the fire.

“Wanna talk about it?” Hermione asked she really wanted to get to know her and she didn’t want to be left in the dark.

Mitch sighed and looked at the beautiful girl in her arms, “I do but then I don’t” she answered.

“Why not? All I want to do is to get to know you,” Hermione said sitting up.

“I know you do and I want to get to know you to there’s just some things that I not ready to tell you about yet,”

“Then I’ll wait until you’re ready to tell me,” she told the American as she touched her cheek. Mitch closed her eyes and leaned into Hermione’s hand then opened them up again and looked back at her, “I know one thing I can tell you” Mitch said softly.

“And what’s that?” Hermione asked as she leaned in towards the other girl.

“You make me feel like I can do no wrong no matter what I do,” she answered just before Hermione’s lips touched hers.
