Over We Go
Chapter 7- Over We Go
In the eighteen months that Hermione had been divorced from Ron, her life had vastly changed. She had gone from a loveless marriage and a life that was shattering before her eyes, to a happy life. A life in which her business filled her days and her love for Severus Snape filled her nights... well, most of them anyway. As great as her life currently was, she knew that her unhappy past with Ron had brought her to this point; deep down, the years of suffering was worth what she had now.
Yesterday, Hermione had met with Kingsley and they had talked about Harry and his fight with Ron. Sure, she was appalled with their altercation, but had decided that it was in the best interest of all involved to let it go. It was not up to her to mediate the two boys any longer; it was their scuffle, so they would have to handle it.
What stood out the most in this visit with Kingsley had been their discussion about Severus, more specifically, her relationship with him. It was true that things were going well between them, in fact, better than she could have hoped for. He was her other half, the missing piece in her life, and now that she had him, she was afraid that she would lose him.
she had admitted to falling in love with Severus, and even though she knew that she needed to tell him, she felt it was too soon. What worried her more was her concern over whether or not he returned her feelings. If he did, that would be great, but what if he didn’t? Would they stay together until he felt similarly, or would it be the end of them? In the event that he would return her feelings, where did that leave them? How would they proceed?
“Enough with the questions already, Hermione! Don’t overanalyze this; you will cross that bridge when you come to it. Merlin, I must be losing my mind. This train of thought has got to stop before I go round the twist.”
She would see Severus tonight, for it was time for their one night out a week. Making up her mind, she decided to tell him tonight. Since she hated procrastinating, this night would be as good as any to get her feelings out in the open. Tonight would decide the next step in her life. Feeling apprehensive, she dressed and took a walk before she was to meet with Severus.
Severus was pacing the floor, tonight would be the night that he would tell Hermione that he loved her. Would she feel the same for him, and what if she didn’t? Where did they go from there? There were too many “what if’s” floating through his mind for him to be remotely calm. Just when he thought he would crack, he heard a soft rapping on his door; the knock could only belong to Minerva. Wondering what she wanted, he opened his door to his best friend and boss.
“Good to see you Minnie, at the risk of sounding rude, what is it that you need? Hermione is due to come shortly, so I do not have much time to spare.”
“Relax Severus, I have only come to give you something to calm your nerves, my boy. Judging by the look of you, you need it. Before you protest, it is not a Calming Draught, it is Firewhisky. A shot of this and you will feel a lot better. It would not do for your ladylove to see you in such a snit.”
“Too right you are, Minnie. I am so nervous about revealing how I feel for her. It is not as though I expect her rejection, I am merely fearful for what may happen. If she does return them, where do we go from there? And if she doesn’t, what then?”
Minerva took two crystal glasses from his liquor cabinet and poured them both a fair amount of Firewhisky. Severus downed his quickly and asked for another before she had the chance to finish hers.
“Slow down there, Sev. The goal here is to calm yourself, not to get pissed. If she does not return your feelings, then stay together, you will grow closer if you do. The poor girl may only need a little time to decide how she feels about you, but from what I can tell, she already loves you. I can see it in her eyes when she speaks of you.
If she does return your feelings, you can just float along until you decide something further, or you can discuss what you want for your future. Perhaps you can find out where she stands on marriage. Also, if you and she would like to have children of your own someday. Of course, there is more, but you don’t have all night.”
“Thanks, Minnie. You have put things in perspective for me, and the liquor helped to calm my nerves.”
“Any time, dear. I think I hear your ladylove down the hall. It is time for me to go. Take care, Sev, and good luck, though I really don’t think you will need it.” She pat him on the back, then said, “Let me know what she says.”
“Indeed. Good night, Minnie.”
Hermione was standing outside of Severus’ door and had already rapped twice. She stood there quietly tapping her foot as she waited for him to answer, and could not help but to wonder what was taking him so long. Was it possible that something had come up? Did he have to reschedule and she missed his owl due to her walk? Just as she was about to start worrying, his door opened. Severus greeted her with a smile and a kiss. Merlin, he always looked so handsome. Tonight, he wore an ocean blue shirt that made his eyes seem even darker than they normally were. He had paired the shirt with his customary black trousers and loafers. Still, the effect was stimulating to her.
“I apologize for taking so long to answer the door, Minerva needed a quick word, and I simply could not deny the Headmistress, it would have been bad form.”
“It is fine, Severus. I was only a little concerned. So, where are we off to this evening?”
“Er... Well, I thought that we might stay in tonight, have dinner and possibly curling up on the couch with a good book. If that does not sound appealing, we could always go out.”
“To be honest, staying in sounds pretty good. I have had a hectic week and could use the down time.”
“That is good, because I already have a candlelit dinner awaiting us, as well as a Shakespeare book laid out. I remember you said that you loved his tales, so I thought that we could drift into his world for a while.”
They sat at his small table and ate the baked chicken and salad that he had prepared. During the meal, they exchanged details of what had happened in their week, and she had even regaled him with the tale of Harry and Ron’s fight at the Ministry. At this, Severus rolled his eyes then proceeded to laugh. He knew that Harry would ignore his and Kingsley’s advice and have a go at the idiot boy; he was disappointed that he was not there to see it, but then again, if he were present, he would have made sure to get in a couple of blows as well. He could not help but to seethe a little every time that he thought of what the weasel had done to his sweet Hermione.
After dinner, they curled up on the couch and Hermione reached for the Shakespeare book, when Severus stopped her and pulled her closer to him. They were so close that he could feel her heart race. His touch excited her, especially when they were enveloped in such an embrace. He ran his slightly calloused hands up her bare arms and let them rest on her shoulders. The sound that she had emitted was one of pure content; it was a combination of a breathy moan and purr. Needless to say, it was sexy as hell and sent a jolt straight to his groin.
“Hermione, I have something that I want to say to you, and I merely ask that you hear me out before you respond, ok?”
A million thoughts were racing through her mind when he said that. This could be bad, very bad. Maybe he didn’t want to see her anymore. Maybe that was why he wanted to stay in. All she knew was that she had to calm down and hear him out.
“Alright, Sev, I will hear you out.” All Hermione could think was please don’t break my heart, now that I have given it to you.
Severus could see the warring expressions on her face. He knew then that she returned his love, because he could see that there was a part of her that was afraid that he would end things between them. What she didn’t know was that it would take death to force him to leave her.
“Hermione... I... I love you, and I have for a while now. I know that it may be soon to say it, but I have fallen for you. It is okay if you do not feel the same for me, but I just thought that you should know how over my head I am for you.”
“Severus, I love you too. I have wanted to tell you for a while now, but I did not want to scare you off. You are one of the best things to have ever happen to me, and I did not want to lose you.”
Severus knew how she felt. He had been thinking the same thing before Minerva had come to see him. He wanted to put her worries to rest, but did not have the words at the moment, so he did the only thing that he thought of. He cuddled her close to him then claimed her lips for a soul-searing kiss. He poured all of his hopes for their future into her and expressed all that he could not. He made sure that she would feel his love though the kiss.
Hermione was at a loss for words when he twined his hands in her hair as he pulled her deeper into his kiss. This lip lock had to be the most intimate one that they had ever shared. It was intense, exciting, soul-stealing, and deeply passionate. It felt as though he was pouring his very soul into her, and she gave hers to him.
Before she knew it, her hands were on his chest and deftly unbuttoning his shirt. She wanted his warm skin on hers, and to feel his heart pounding out a rhythm as she touched him. Soon enough, their shirts were off, but they did not proceed further as they were still kissing.
Severus moved to get a little more comfortable when Hermione felt his manhood spring to life beneath her. She had thought about making love to him right here, but soon realized that it was not large enough for their needs. Reluctantly, she pulled away and got up.
“Where are you going?”
“We are going to the bedroom where we can continue this without the threat of injury.”
Severus smirked and followed along. He would brook no argument because with his teaching job, he did not need an injury, no matter how pleasantly it was incurred.
Once in his room, she sat on the bed and motioned for him to join her, and he did so. He made to remove his trousers and boxers, but she stilled his movements with her hand.
“Don’t, Severus, I want to. Lay down, love. Let me show you how I feel.”
Hermione began to trail kisses down his body, making him so hot that he felt as though he would catch on fire. She paused here and there and made her way back to his nipples, and when she did, she would nip and flick her tongue across the sensitive, dark disks, making him shiver and moan in pleasure.
Her hands snaked to his buckled trousers, cupped his hardened length, then removed the belt, and tapped the hidden top button to make the others disappear. In one swift movement, his trousers and boxer shorts were removed, and the chill air of the dungeons was sweeping up his completely naked form. Severus had to pace himself as Hermione began kissing and licking her way down his body once more.
She placed tiny kisses down his shaft and flicked her tongue across the head of his penis. He was moaning incoherently when she lightly bit his thighs, then swept her tongue across his testicles. He was in sheer heaven. She took his length into her mouth and began to suckle him. He was starting to come undone when she pulled away from him. She removed her skirt and knickers, then climbed on top of him. She grasped his cock and proceeded to tease him with her slick folds, then slid down on him, taking him on a higher plane of pleasure.
As Hermione rode him, he thrust up into her, making her quiver around him. Merlin, she felt so good! He loved how she was making love to him, but he wanted to feel her come apart beneath him, so he gently pulled her down on him and rolled them over, then plunged into her sweet depths. He went slowly at first, just to tease her.
“Yesss, Severus. Soo good.”
He adored hearing her moan his name, so he sped up.
“Like that... harder.”
Never being one to disappoint her, he began to pound into her and she met him thrust for thrust. He knew that she was close because her walls were getting tighter, so he swivelled his hips, and thrust a little harder. That move sent them both over the edge. As he spilled his seed within her, she was crying out his name.
“Severus!”
“My angel,” he replied.
Severus gathered her close and held her tightly, as if telling her that he never wanted to let her go.
“Live with me, love.”
