Out of the Darkness into the light

I found Lucius in the rose garden, doing just as Draco had done blasting the bushes apart. Slowly I walked up behind him, calling his name lightly.
"Lizzy I wanted to marry you, but I thought it would be in my own time not forced as this is." His eyes connected with me and for the first time I noticed the tears.
"Voldemort will kill us both if I do not go through with it, I lost you once I will not loose you again."

His arms came around me, crushing me into his body. I inhaled, his scent so that it would be embedded in my mind forever.
"I love you Lucius and I know you do not love me yet, but maybe we could make this work?" Looking into his eyes I smiled, I knew that we could make it work.
"We will make it work Lizzy, I promise you this for as long as there is magic in this world, for as long as I draw breath I will love and cherish you."

I felt the magic swirl around us and from the look in his eyes I knew Lucius had just made a wizards vow. Draco had once told me about them, that once they were made you could not break them on fear of death.

"Tonight at midnight we will wed under the full moon. I have clothes laid out on your bed. What you must remember is this is old magic and once we are wed it will be forever." I nodded I knew a little about magic now to know that a wizards vows were forever.

"Lucius I have no magic, will it all still work. I am so scared that I will grow old and die and you will live on with out me." Lucius smirked kissing me lightly on the lips.
"The ceremony will shift some of my powers onto you, no you still will be unable to do magic but your lifespan will be like mine."

"Father!" I heard Draco yell spinning I stared in shock at the forms of Harry, Hermione and Remus coming towards us. "Lucius, you have committed a crime of kidnapping." Harry had his wand drawn as did Remus and Hermione, only Hermione's wand was trained on Harry.

"Oh give it up Harry, leave them be they are in love." Harry looked in shock at Hermione. "But how could she?" I noticed the sad look in Hermione's eyes as she went and linked her arms with Draco. "The same way I could fall in love with Draco, the Malfoy men are not what they seem Harry."

Harry stared at us all in shock, "Hermione you cannot be serious, you would choose the ferret over your own side and friends?" I glared at the boy-who-wouldn't-give-up. "Harry grow up! Hermione and Draco are married and in love, we are in the middle of a war, everyone should be trying to find some happiness where ever they can."

Lucius stared at me in shock, No one thought I had it in me to yell at someone. "Just as Lucius and I will be married tonight, I love him and he cares for me, so either be happy for us of butt out!" Harry was still staring at me like a stunned fish his mouth opening and shutting in shock. "Now if you will excuse me I am going to get ready for my wedding!" With that I stormed off, grabbing Hermione in the process and dragging her into the manor.

Laying on my bed was a stunning robe made of silver and green. Hermione cooed and ahhed over it. I smiled, trust my husband to be to choose something so Slytherin. "Hermione will you stand in with me?" Hermione looked in shock at my question. "Harry will drag me away from here soon," I smiled. "No he wont cause I will not let him even if it means having him here to watch the ceremony."

"But wont Voldemort be here?" I had not thought of that, crap if Harry and him were in the same room there would be bloodshed for sure. "We will make sure there is a truce called just for this night." Hermione looked at me sceptically.

I don't know how we did it but we did, the ceremony went off with out a hitch. Watching Harry and Voldemort standing there in silence was more entertainment then any movie I have ever seen. Lucius and I said out vows in Latin, both in awe of each other.

"Mi amor, multa superavimus discrimina. Cum fidem amisi, tu me domum reduxisti. Tu mea es fortitudo ac fons praesidii perennis. Haec est causa quod tibi promitto me dehinc tuam fore in aeternum. In fide ambulabimus, in fide inter nos amabimus, in fide semper vivemus."

We both said the same lines as we felt it was true to us both, the ceremony ended and all went there own way only after we made Harry promise to leave Hermione for the night that she would be home the next day. Voldemort left after wishing Lucius well, looking me up and down leering. Harry and Remus left not long after him and then once again it was just Lucius, Draco, Hermione and I just like it used to be.

"Well Draco and I are off to bed, we will see you both in the morning." I smiled as Hermione practically dragged her husband to the room. Lucius looked down at me and I saw the love in his eyes. "Now Mrs Malfoy I believe its time for us to retire as well." I nodded squealing as he lifted me carrying me to our chambers.


A/N the translation for their vows is
