Chapter Six
Hermione lay in the bed, staring at the ceiling. This had been going on for several hours and it didn’t look like it was going to be getting any better. Absently she got up, slipping on a robe and slippers. She went out into the hallway and walked over to the library. Looking through the titles, she allowed herself to relax with her first love—books.
“I should have known.” Came from behind her, startling her out of her ease.
She spun around to see Lucius Malfoy in the doorway. He strolled over in a loose gate that was so unlike him that it made her wonder what was the matter. Then she smelled it—fire whiskey. The man was drunk! He wasn’t just a little drunk either, but severally so.
He sat down in a lounge, looking over to her. “You know what you need?”
“No, but something tells me that you will expound on that shortly,” she murmured, making him laugh.
“You are a witty young woman,” he said casually. “But back to topic, you need to get out and experience life!”
“Meaning?” she asked, turning to face him fully.
“Meaning, Miss Hermione Granger, not all answers to life can be found in a book,” he told her, walking over and taking the book she was holding in her hand. “Hmm, what pray tell interests you in…” He pulled back the book slightly. “Potions of the middle ages?”
“I want to be a potions mistress and that is a book on potions,” she said dryly. “You do the math.”
“In deed,” he murmured, putting the book back on the shelf. “Do you read a nonsense book?” When he saw her frown, he went on with, “You know, a book that has no intrinsically educational value?”
She sighed. “Of course I have, but it’s nothing I wish to discuss with you.”
He smirked. “It was a tome of a sexual nature, I take it?”
A blush flared on her face. “What is the point of this conversation, sir?”
“The point, as you so eloquently put it, my dear, is that you should be courting a young gentleman, not reading about fictional fair maidens fucking young virile men.” He paused. “Unless you find young witches more to your tastes?”
“No, I don’t.” She went over to the door, but stopped and turned towards him. “And just for your information, I’m not the simpering little virgin you think I am. I just don’t happen to tell all and sundry my exploits.”
Hermione had no sooner walked several feet into her guestroom when Lucius was walking straight through the door and went right over to her. Before she could ask what he was about, he grabbed her up. Magically binding her arms, his hand slid up and cupped her face. His thumb brushed the fullness of her lower lip, even as he licked at his own lips. But just as quickly as he had come into the room and attacked, he was walking away from her.
He stopped at the doors to the room. “Believe me, if I thought for a single moment that you weren’t an innocent, you wouldn’t still be standing. You would be on your back with me balls deep in your sweet cunt.” Lucius looked over to her, his eyes a molten silver. “Never you doubt it.” The moment he slammed the doors shut as he left, Hermione started shaking.

When Lucius went into the breakfast room, he had expected Hermione to be eating her morning meal sullenly. But when he saw that she wasn’t there, he thought nothing of it. It wasn’t until he arrived at the training room and she wasn’t there that he began to worry. He went straight over to her room and found it empty.
Now in a fury he was on his way to the floo in his study when a voice cut him off.
“I thought I told you that she wasn’t to be molested.” Snape’s hard voice had him spinning around to face him. He was sitting and watching him, his black eyes hard. “Imagine my shock when Miss Granger came back to the school, exhausted, fearful, and in nothing more than her nightdress.” He stood up. “She gave me the memory, Lucius. You were drunk and what you did was uncalled for.”
“She…”
“She is a girl in your care!” he roared. “You tell me a single one that wouldn’t have defended her own sexuality given what you said. Foolish? Yes, but understandable.”
Lucius sat down. “Where is she?”
“Currently she’s over in that fucking isolation room at the school too damn scared to leave it thanks to you,” Severus muttered. “I should skin you alive. She doesn’t even trust me now!”
Lucius snorted. “She trusts you?” He laughed this time bitterly. “You of all people?”
“Because she knows that I would never hurt her.” Severus’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t tell me, you want her, don’t you?”
“Who wouldn’t? I mean other than the fatherly Severus Snape.”
Rolling his eyes, he said, “Don’t be an ass. I want her as well, but I know there is a line that should not and cannot be crossed with a student. And you, my wayward friend, found that line.”
Lucius gritted his teeth. “What now?”
“Now? Now you find a way to fix this, because I am not going to have that girl locked in that room for the rest of her days!”
“Are you really that concerned over her welfare or is it something else?” Lucius drawled.
Severus snarled. “If I have to hear Pomfrey, McGonagall, or Pince complaining yet again about that girl, I will drag you in front of the harpies so that you may have the privilege of dealing with them.”
“What do you suggest I do?” he demanded.
“I haven’t a clue,” he admitted. “But you are going to fix it and do so before I give away your location to Molly Weasley.” Lucius’s eyes went wide at his friends warning. “The other three are cute, fuzzy bunnies compared to her.”
Lucius scowled at that. “That’s low.”
“Precisely.”
