chapter 6
“Ginny?” Draco asked from out side her bedroom door.
Ginny took a deep breath then opened the door.
“Ginny I don’t care who you where in the past, and you don’t seem
to care about mine or you probably wouldn’t of opened your door
for me,” Draco said staring into Ginny’s eyes.
“I am not hiding from you this is who I am now,” Draco said.
Ginny gave him a small smile. “I am Drake Oliver, if you wish to
call me Draco that’s your choice it does sound perfect on your
lips,” Draco said. Ginny smiled “I am Ginevira Malfoy,” Ginny
said with an apologetic smile. “Well my love we have a lot to do
in the next few weeks to fix your house,” Draco said taking
Ginny’s hand and leading her down stairs.
“First we unload the truck then supper,” Ginny said then
gasped as she stared at her full kitchen. “Check,” Draco said
pretending to check the task off of a list. Ginny slapped Draco’s
arm playfully then looked up at the ceiling in wonder. “it’s
electricity,” Draco said smiling. “Oh, well can you run the water
upstairs to clear out the pipes while I get all the ingredients
together?” Ginny asked. “Sure,” Draco said and turned to walk up
the stairs. Ginny watched after him checking out his ass as he walked
away. Draco got to the stairs and turned and smiled at Ginny who
blushed and went back into the kitchen looking for all the
spices. Ginny pulled the ground beef from the fridge staring at
the fridge in wonder as it light up. “Hey Ginny I’ll run up and
check it when its been a few minutes,” Draco said as he walked in
the kitchen watching as Ginny sorted threw some
spices. “Paprika,” Ginny said happily and set it on the table.
Draco stared down at the jar of Paprika then frowned at
Ginny. “That’s the only spice were using?” Draco asked. “I will
help you with desert as soon as dinner cooking,” Ginny
said. “Grab the onion out of the fridge, and the canned green
beans from the cabinet,” Ginny said. Draco obliged looking at the
onion distastefully but putting it on the counter. Ginny giggled
then pulled a piece of parchment to her. “Accio quick quotes,”
Ginny said waving her wand. The quill flew into the room around
Draco then landed neatly into Ginny’s hand. Ginny set it on the
parchment and it wrote “Lazy Cottage Pie” at the top of the
paper. “Ok lets write down the ingredients first then we will
make sure we have them all.
1. 1 lb extra lean ground beef
2. 1 small onion finely chopped
3. 1(15 once) can of green beans drained, (or peas & carrots or mixed leftover veggies)
4. 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
5. 3-4 cups leftover mashed potatoes (or prepare 6 servings instant)
6. 1/8-1/4 cup cheddar cheese shredded (optional)
7. Paprika, garnish (optional)
“Ok so we need to get the can of tomato soup out and the
instant mashed, then the cheese,” Ginny said then turned to find
all the ingredients sitting next to her. Draco stood smiling at
her quite happy she looked surprised. “Ok Mr. Clever you where
great at potions in school why don’t I just sit and tell you what
to do and if you need help then I will help you,” Ginny said.
Draco walked up to her and put his hands on her waist. Ginny’s
heart raced and she stopped breathing. Draco grinned at her then
lifted her up and set her on the counter. Ginny sighed as he let
her go a little disappointed but filled with a wild feeling in
her body. “Ok,” Ginny said trying to calm her self. “Now listen
carefully Draco,” Ginny said. Draco’s eyes lite up at the sound
of his name coming from her, he should of kissed her when he had
her in his grasp. “Draco?” Ginny asked with a smirk on her
face. “Oh sorry,” Draco said then looked down at the ingredients.
1. Brown beef and onion together in a large skillet, drain fat.
2. Place meat into a medium greased caserole dish (it doesn't matter what shape- you want to be able to have the meat spread in one layer).
3. Spread the beans on top.
4. Spread the unprepared soup on top of the beans using a spatula.
5. Next spread the mashed potatoes over all, sealing edges.
6. Sprinkle with cheese, if desired
7. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 350 F or 180 C oven for about 20 minutes, or until bubbling.
8. NOTE: If you like, use a fork to make lines in the mashed potatoes (or, you could also pipe the mashed potatoes on top using a decorating bag with a wide star tip if you aren't feeling quite so lazy).
Draco looked up at her a little taken aback Ginny giggled. “Ok
set the oven to 350,” Draco did then looked back up at
Ginny. “Now cut the onion into as tiny of peaces as you can,”
Draco pulled out his wand and Ginny covered her face as onion
flew every where. “Sorry Ginny,” Draco said. “Its ok Draco grab a
new one,” Ginny said pulling onion out of her hair. “Accio
demolished onion,” Ginny said and Draco scowled at her. Ginny
giggled as she threw away all the onion pieces. Draco lifted his
wand again, “Wait,” Ginny said jumping down off the counter. She
walked up to a drawer and pulled out a knife. Ginny set it on the
counter next to Draco and then touched his wand hand with hers
and leaned up against him. The onion exploded and Ginny ducked
behind Draco.
“Fuck,” Draco swore and Ginny broke into peels of
laughter. “Oh Draco keep your eyes closed tight,” Ginny said
running to grabbed a towel. She put some water on it from her
wand then turned Draco towards her. Ginny began wiping the onion
and the onion juice from Draco’s face making sure it didn’t go in
his eye’s. “Ok,” Ginny said and Draco opened his eyes. Ginny
stared into them lost in the gray and silver swirls. “Thanks,”
Draco said smiling at her. Ginny blushed relishing she had been
staring. “Ok wands away, Ginny said. Draco set his on the counter
then looked at Ginny. “What spell did you use?” Ginny asked. “I
didn’t,” Draco admitted. Ginny grinned then picked up the knife
handing it to Draco. Draco took the knife and chopped the onion
up carefully. “Ok put the meat and the onions in this skillet, “
Ginny said Draco followed her instructions then Ginny pointed her
wand at the oven. “Prepero browneo,” Ginny said and the pan began
to mix the meat and onions over the fire. She wrote the
incantation on the recipe and turned back to Draco. “Now grab
that casserole dish,” Ginny said and Draco set it on the
counter. “The meat is done, take your wand and cast “Draino
fatteo. First let me step away.” Ginny said. Draco cast the charm
and the meat drained it self. “Great,” Ginny praised. Draco
beamed. “Ok pour the meat in the dish then pour the can of beans
over it,” Ginny said. “now put the soup over it,” Ginny said and
as he did she mixed the instant mashed potatoes with water. She
handed Draco the mashed potatoes. “now spreed the potatoes over
the top,” Ginny said. Draco did then grabbed the cheese spreading
a little cross the top then put the dish in the oven. Ginny set a
timer and then smiled at Draco.
“I’m horrible,” Draco said sulkily. “No you just need
practice, here sit and watch me do the desert and I will make
sure you get the recipe on this paper,” Ginny said. Draco sat on
the counter looking grumpy. Ginny pulled the carton of
strawberries from the fridge casting a cleaning charm on them
then took on and walked over to Draco. “Here,” Ginny said Draco
stared at her watching her breasts move as she walked and her
hips sway. Draco smiled at Ginny and Ginny put the strawberry up
for Draco to take. Draco gently bite the strawberry that Ginny
was holding. Ginny smiled then walked back over to her quill
taping it with her wand.
1. 5 cups quartered strawberries
2. 3 cups sliced rhubarb, about 1/3-inch thick
3. 1/2 cup sugar
4. 1/4 cup cornstarch
5. 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
6. 3/4 cup flour
7. 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
8. 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
9. 1 pinch salt
10. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced (cold)
Ginny concentrated on her list then waved her wand. Draco stared
as all the strawberries began to get cute by the knife and then
the rhubarb. He watched as the sugar measured it self into a bowl
then the cornstarch, lemon juice, flour, oats, brown sugar and
salt went in separate little bowls. Butter sprang from the fridge
and the knife diced it and all the unused ingredients put them
selves away. “Wow,” Draco said. Ginny smiled then turned back to
the list. Taping the quill with her wand again.
1.Irish whiskey butter: place 1/2 cup of room temperature unsalted
butter in a mixing bowl and whip until fluffy. With mixer
running, gradually add 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Slowly add 1/4 cup
Irish whiskey until combined. Mixture may look separate and
curdled at first, but if you keep whipping, it will come
together. Use at room temperature or chilled.
2.Preheat oven to 365 degrees. Lightly grease 11x7" baking dish and set aside.
3.In a medium bowl, combine strawberries, rhubarb, sugar,
cornstarch, and lemon juice.
4.Toss to coat.
5.Pour strawberry mixture into prepared baking dish.
6.In a medium bowl, add the flour, oats, light brown sugar, and salt, stirring to combine.
7.Add the diced butter to the flour mixture, and using your fingers, work the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
8.Pour crumb mixture evenly over top of strawberry mixture.
9.Place baking dish in the oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until filling is bubbly and topping is golden brown.
10.Serve warm with spoonful of Irish Whiskey Butter
Ginny concentrated again and things began to mix and fly
around the room. Draco stared in wonder and then watched a dish
fly into the open oven. “Now that’s magic,” Draco said with a
smile. “My mother was more organized about it,” Ginny said then
felt tears fall down her cheeks. “Ginny are you ok?” Draco asked
jumping of the counter to her side. “Yes I’m sorry I get a little
emotional when I think about my family. Draco put his arms around
her and Ginny felt a calm fall over her. She felt completely
safe. “Did you loss them in the war?” Draco asked. “No after,”
Ginny said. Draco nodded there had been lots of death eaters that
ran around murdering after Voldemort had fallen.
There was a flutter of wings and Pigwidgen flew in the
room with the Evening prophet tied to his feet. Ginny took the
paper and gave Pig a treat. Draco stared at the owl trying to
figure out where he had seen it before. The paper began to role
across the counter and Ginny gasped. Draco moved forward sending
a curse breaker at the paper. But the paper kept rolling. Draco
reached over and polled the paper open. “HARRY POTTER DEAD,
wizards rejoice,” The prophet screamed as he opened it and a
large photo of Harry smiled from the front page. “Murderer,”
Ginny hissed and blew the paper into a million pieces. Draco
looked over a Ginny confused. “I don’t see why I get the paper
its always about Harry Fucking Pothead,” Ginny said
angrily. “Tipsy,” Draco said and his house elf popped into the
room. Clean up the kitchen then bring dinner when it’s ready,”
Draco ordered. Draco took Ginny’s hand and into the living room.
Draco conjured a sofa and sat next to Ginny.
