Chapter 5: Acclimatizing the Body

Chapter 5: Acclimatizing the Body

The ultimate goal is to achieve orgasm with Cruciatus and no other (or as little as possible) stimulation. This achievement does take time, effort and practice. Even then, you might not ever be able to arrive at this conclusion, so prepare yourself for less than perfection. However, to work towards this result, you must acclimatize your body to Cruciatus. More importantly, your partner must be exceedingly competent with this curse.

Cruciatus is the most painful curse, with the potential to harm your psyche as well as your physical body. On the off chance that there are some neophytes reading this treatise, you must know that the individual controlling Cruciatus can also affect the duration and intensity of the curse. Consequently, the longer that your partner maintains the spell and/or increases its strength, the more your physical and mental health are profoundly and adversely affected. Resistance to Cruciatus by means of administering potions and counter-spells is quite ineffective. Only very limited progress has been made in this respect over the centuries, and consequently these techniques should not be relied upon to assist you in negating the effects of Cruciatus, not to mention that these methods are truly contrary to the objectives of this book. It is also highly unlikely that you will have the time and resources available for counter-spells when the Dark Lord deems it necessary to mete out an unexpected punishment upon you.

The most unexplored and yet efficient technique for contending with certain curses (provided you have the capacity in the first place) is to transmute the energy and its effects. If you did not do well in transfiguration classes, you might wish to abandon this exercise entirely. Often easier than redirecting the curse (for example, forcing the spell back upon its caster) is rendering the curse impotent or transforming the spell's painful results into your own pleasure. Internalization requires less focus than externalization as you are taking advantage of the spell's inherent energy flow and direction (rather than channelling the flow in an opposite or even perpendicular direction). Once you become accustomed to embracing the curse, you will find that accepting the flow and working solely on transforming the energy an easier task. In order to master this technique effectively, you must be able to condition your body's acceptance of the curse in question. If you possess any fear whatsoever in internalizing a curse, then you should burn this book and forget you ever read this far.

You must be capable of pushing past your self-imposed limitations and gradually accept more prolonged and stronger doses of Cruciatus. How prolonged and how strong in the end is entirely up to you. However, if you are exploring this skill specifically for the purposes of deceiving those who would use this curse against you, then you have a lofty goal to achieve (for the caster will, no doubt, issue Cruciatus with the intent to commit considerable harm against your person). If, on the other hand, you are using this technique for your own sadomasochistic pleasure, then you set the limitations with your partner and in accordance with his or her capabilities and your tolerances.

Initially, your partner should use the smallest dose of Cruciatus as possible. Your partner should hold the curse for only a moment, with minimal force. Repeat this only several times during the first session, or stop when the curse's effects prove too much for you. You should now be aware of your body's automatic response to Cruciatus. Knowing your reaction and committing the details to memory will enable you to react accordingly in the future if you are developing this skill for deceptive purposes. You should also be aware of how an individual typically responds under Cruciatus, without the ability to derive pleasure from the curse. If in doubt at any time, or should you require a refresher, a little Muggle torture might be in order.

The primary and most common result of Cruciatus, apart from the searing pain coursing throughout your entire body, is the loss of controlled motor function. Most individuals collapse to the ground. As an automatic response to the pain, you convulse, writhe, and may even scream incoherently. I do not need to tell you how unappealing this is, except perhaps to a pure sadist. These effects magnify when Cruciatus increases in intensity, duration, and with repetition. Eventually, the mind will become seriously afflicted (an imminent and more permanent visitation to St. Mungo's is quite possible).

Your partner should not only comprehend these symptoms, but should also be capable of discerning when your response denotes serious harm and is not simply an involuntary reaction. Obviously, your partner should end the curse if serious harm has been determined. If they do not, and you survive the onslaught, reprimand will assuredly be in order. Have a retinue of easily cast and appropriate admonishing curses at the tip of your tongue or forefront of your mind should your partner's lack of focus and skill result in your injury.

How quickly or slowly you proceed will depend entirely upon the effects you can withstand. The key is observance and a very gradual increase in Cruciatus' frequency, intensity and duration. Vary the modifiers (frequency, intensity and duration) and note the results. Documenting the experimentation will prove informative and serve as a progress indicator. Do not be surprised if several months need pass before making even a minute amount of progress, and years to achieve the results you desire from these experimentations. As a final notation, I do not recommend indulging in Cruciatus in this manner any more than twice per month. To experiment more frequently is to tempt admission into St. Mungo's.
