I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Back to Back
A/N: ok so I want to start by thanking my reviewer Minerva Ann McGonagall for commenting on James not being a seeker in the book. I was aware of this but took personal license and said he was. Anyway thank-you and please do keep reading. It gives WAFF's to me and my betas. OK so enough of my babbling on with the story.

~Chapter six: Back-to-Back~
Isis looked at Sirius, “David is my ex-boyfriend.”
“Why is he an ex?”
“He wanted something I didn’t want to give him.” Isis said scooping out some pie for herself. “He just wanted power.”
“Because he wanted to be king?”
“Because I know things that interest his master.”
“He’s a dark wizard then?”
Isis nodded, “At least I think so.”
Sirius put his hands behind his head. “Why are you dating Snivillus? He’s got to be just as bad Isis.”
Isis opened her mouth to protest.
Sirius held up a hand, “No listen. Severus might be doing the same thing as David. Snape isn’t even his real name. There are lots of things that occur here that you’re not familiar with. Severus will do anything for what he wants and what he wants is power. Period. Please Isis he’s bad news.”
Isis couldn’t keep quiet; “No one likes him, but maybe if he wasn’t teased so much…”
“Isis do you know how I met Peter?”
Isis shook her head.
“I saved him from a bunch of pure-blood cronies on the train our first year. They were going to jinx him so that he’d grow a tail. Severus was in that group Isis. They had already suspended Peter upside down and were asking for suggestions from the crowd.”
Isis turned a bright shade of purple. “He did what?”
“I’m being truthful Isis. Please reconsider.”
Isis looked over to the Slytherin table. Severus was entertaining a few friends with some kind of story. He looked up briefly and saw that Isis was looking at him in a disappointed way.
Severus came up to the table. “Would you like to go on another walk this afternoon after Defense Against the Dark Arts?”
“Did you really try to jinx Peter Peregreiw?”
“He deserved it.”
“How?”
“By hanging around with mudbloods.” Severus said with a meaningful look toward Lily.
“She’s my friend.” Isis said defensively.
“Then I guess I’ll have to trust your judgment.” Severus said. “I’ll see you after class.” Then he walked away.
Isis looked at Lily and waved, maybe following her heart had been a bad thing.
Sirius rose at her side and went after Severus.
“No one talks that way to Isis or Evans!”
“Oh better not let your mate know that you like Evans, Sirius.” Severus said dangerously.
“Better not let my fists find the side of your head.” Sirius said with spite rising up.
“Temper Black. I am a Prefect. You are a delinquent.”
“Fine we’ll do it like in the old days. Wizard’s duel at ten pm in the trophy room, no telling Filch or any of the teachers.”
“Fine.” Severus said with a snarl most unlike himself. “Regulus is my second.” Severus beckoned him over. “Who’s yours?”
“James.” Sirius answered simply. “Oi! James.” He called.
James walked up. “Yes?”
“You want to be my second?” Sirius asked looking hard at Severus.
“I’d love too. See you tonight Snivillus.” James said turning to go back to his seat.
“How can you be sure that there won’t be teachers there?” Isis asked Remus worriedly at nine.
“Moony has his own ways.” Remus replied pulling a piece of parchment out of his robes. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go give this to Sirius and James.”
“You could be stopping this Remus!” Isis hissed after him.
Remus shrugged. “I learned a long time ago that I couldn’t control James and Sirius. Dumbledore made me Prefect in the hopes that I would, but it’s impossible. Sirius hates Severus and Severus hates Sirius just as much. Same applies to James, Peter, and myself.”
Isis slumped. “What if they get hurt?”
“They’ll go to the hospital wing and I’ll be stripped of my Prefect’s badge.”
Isis looked at the parchment. “What is that anyway?”
“If you like your nose keep it out of my business.” Remus said aggressively.
Isis saw Remus slip it under his arm. “Accio Parchment.” Isis called and the paper flew into her hands with out Remus’s knowledge as he walked up to the fire where James and Sirius were waiting. Remus immediately began talking and therefore didn’t notice the parchment was missing.
Isis unfolded it and found it blank. She wondered if maybe it was invisible ink. Isis sprayed the paper with a detection spell. Nothing. Isis hummed idly as she tried to figure out what the paper could mean.
Isis walked up to the girl’s dorm and lay on her bed with the paper laying unfolded in front of her. She put her wand tip to the parchment. “Reveal yourself.” She said sternly.
Curly handwriting that Isis recognized as Remus’s showed up on the paper.
“Who are you to tell me what to do?”
Three more samples of writing scrolled across the page.
“I don’t take orders from strangers!” one said
The next one was rude; “I only take orders from women who want me for my body.”
One last one appeared. “I suggest the lady keeps her nose out.”
“Remus, I am your cousin.”
“Mr. Moony will keep his comments to himself.”
“Mr. Wormtail suggests that the lady say her name.”
“Mr. Padfoot already knows who she is and wishes to tell the lady that despite her beauty she is an incessant noser.”
Isis closed her eyes Padfoot was obviously Sirius.
“Mr. Prongs wishes to ask the lady to talk to Evans for him.”
“James.” Isis muttered.
Isis got up and went downstairs in just enough time to catch James and Sirius as they were going out the door. “The lady would like to bid Messers Padfoot and Prongs to be careful.” Then she waved malevolently as the portrait swung closed.
“How does she know?” James asked.
“She has the map!” Sirius said angrily. The fat lady from the portrait was gone and they were going to be late if the waited any longer.
“Lets just go.” James said. “After all what’s one more detention?”
Sirius decided that James was right. If they we’re caught they’d get yet another detention and James would win the house points back in the upcoming quddich matches. They flew down the hallway trying to go unnoticed.
“We should have brought my invisibility cloak.” James said with a sigh.
“Too late now.” Sirius whispered. They reached the trophy room with out any trouble and found Severus and Regulus waiting impatiently.
“Ready?” James asked.
“I was born ready.” Sirius answered.
They walked into the trophy room and Severus and Sirius looked at each other malevolently. They bowed, walked ten steps apiece, and raised their wands.
Severus threw out a slow vanishing spell, but Sirius blocked it and shot a stunning spell. Regulus took over and Sirius lazily shot a bind spell.
Severus stood somewhat shakily and shot two spider’s web spells at James and Sirius before Sirius accidentally lost control and turned Severus’s hands to boulders.
Suddenly there were footsteps approaching and a gasp, as Professor Binns, the head of Slytherin house found them in the trophy room, bound, webbed, and transfigured.
“I hope you gentlemen realize the amount of trouble you are in.” He said waspishly
Everyone looked up at him.
“You two boys.” He said pointing at Sirius and James. “What are your names?”
“Sirius Black.”
“James Potter.”
“Oh yes.” Professor Binns said adjusting his glasses. “Yes. Your those boys that make so much trouble during my history lessons.”
“Fifty points from Gryffindor and detentions for both of you.”
Professor Binns looked at Severus and Regulus mercifully. “I’m sure that these gentlemen asked you to come here tonight and you came out of honor.” He shot Sirius a dirty look. “I know that one of my Prefects and his friend would not be out of their beds for no reason. I’ll take ten points for your lack of judgment.”
“You will all go back to your dormitories.” Professor Binns said. “And by the way. I shall be telling Professor McGonagall about this.”
Halfway back they ran into Isis. “I figured out the map. Did Professor Binns give you detentions?”
“Yes.” James said. “And he only took ten points from Slytherin.”
“He doesn’t want his own house to lose the house cup does he?” Sirius asked.
“We beat them ever year.” James said.
Isis fell into step with them. “Maybe we should retaliate.” She suggested.
James and Sirius stopped.
“Did you just say what I think you said?” Sirius asked.
“Well nothing big, but you know get our honor back.”
“How?”
“Get them to do something terrible in front of McGonagall.”
“I thought you liked Severus.” Sirius asked flabbergasted.
“I’m a little mad at him right now.”
“Because of what he said about Evans?” Sirius asked.
Isis nodded.
“What did that bastard say about Lily?” James asked.
“Don’t worry about it James.”
The three of them walked back to the tower using the map to hide in shadows when teachers and ghosts were approaching. Especially Peeves the poltergeist. Peeves loved to play jokes on students especially ones who were out of bed in the middle of the night.
When they got back it was past eleven and Isis wasn’t showing the slightest sign of tiredness.
James and Sirius each sat down in an armchair and yawned.
“Oh my weary eyes.” James said trying not to look to intently into the fire. The common room was still full of students doing homework.
“I reckon we should start on some of this school work.” Sirius said shooting glances around the room. Isis was sitting in a chair fiddling with something.
“What’s that you’ve got there?” Remus asked.
“Nothing. Just an experiment.” Isis said stuffing the something in her robe pocket.
“Let me see it if it’s nothing.” Remus said.
Isis fished it out of her pocket and Sirius could see it was a muggle picture that she was trying to enchant.
Isis was slightly embarrassed that Remus saw the picture was of her father and her in muggle Boston at a red sox game.
“You can’t enchant photo’s it’s against the law.”
“I just want it to move like all my other pictures.”
Remus looked down sadly at his cousin. “ I know you miss him. God knows you don’t ever sleep any more because your afraid, but enchanting a picture isn’t going to bring him back.
Isis slumped. “I know enchanting a picture won’t bring him back. It’s just something to keep me sane.
