Getting Through to Her

Jessy wakes up in the Hospital Wing and groans when she sees her Father sitting near her bed.

"Jessica, your finally awake."

Jessy looks up at her dad and feels nothing when she sees no concern in his eyes.

"Jessy!" Draco calls out from the door.

Looking up she sees him walking towards her.

"Malfoy." Her fathers voice is cold.

Draco drops to his knees, not daring to look at his master.

"Sir, may I please speak with Jessica alone?" Draco asks, eyes on the floor.

Jessy looks up when her father doesn\'t answer him. For a brief second, she thinks she sees a glint of respect, but like that it\'s gone.

"You may." Her father answers him.

Draco doesn\'t move from his place until the Dark Lord leaves the room. As soon as he\'s gone he rushes to Jessy\'s side, tears brimming in his eyes.

"Jessy, are you ok?" He asks, his voice cracking with emotion.

Seeing Draco so vulnerable makes her smile. She takes his hand and squeezes it, realizing she hasn\'t spoken since she woke up.

"I heard you\'re courting Potter?" Draco asks, his eyes flash briefly with anger.

"He loves me." Jessy states, her voice scratchy from misuse.

"No he doesn\'t. He just wants to get in good with your dad." Draco snaps at her, his tears gone and his voice cold.

"I have a headache, don\'t make it worse Malfoy." Jessy tells him, her voice low.

"So it\'s back to last names Riddle?" He asks quietly.

Disgusted with herself and her damn emotions, she tries to be like her father.

"You\'re dismissed Malfoy." She says.

The look of hatred he gives her sends chills up her spine, and makes her cringe.

"This isn\'t over Riddle. I\'ll do whatever it takes to make you mine. You\'ll see." Draco growls.

"I said dismissed Malfoy." Jessy snaps, her voice growing louder.

Without a single look back, Draco leaves her to lay in her bed, alone. Jessy watches Draco\'s back until the door hides him from view; before letting the tears fall.

"Why do I have to be so cruel?" She asks herself, her voice but a whisper.

"Because you have a cold, heartless, monster as your father." A girl answers her.

Looking up, Jessy is startled by a young red-headed girl.

"You don\'t know anything about my father and who he really is, so I suggest you shut your mouth before I shut it for you." Jessy threatens the girl, while wiping away the tears.

Much to her surprise the girl merely raises an eyebrow at her and laughs.

"What do you want?" Jessy asks, feeling exhausted.

"I want you to stay away from Harry." The girl tells her.

It\'s Jessy\'s turn to laugh, watching the girl stare at her blankly.

"What\'s so funny?" The girl asks.

"What\'s your name?" Jessy replies, ignoring the girl\'s question.

"Ginny Weasley." She tells her.

It dawns on Jessy that this was Harry\'s girlfriend before her Father took over. Before everything went wrong for the light side.

"I know you, and want you out of my room before I hex you into oblivion." Jessy growls, her anger fueled by pictures of Harry.

The girl lets out an angry grunt before turning on her heel and walking out the door. And like that, she\'s alone again. Before anyone else can visit her, she slips out of the Hospital Wing and down to the dungeons. Walking towards her godfather\'s study she stops when she hears voices.

"Come on Severus, you\'re her godfather. You can convince her to lose that trash she thinks is gold." Draco\'s voice floats around the corner.

Jessy feels her anger start to rise as Draco\'s words reach her. About to walk around the corner she stops, hearing her godfathers voice.

"I don\'t agree with this courtship anymore than you do, but Draco, I can\'t stop her."

"Yes you can!" Draco\'s voice is carried to Jessy.

"If you love her, show her!" Snape yells at the boy.

Jessy decides it\'s best not to go see her godfather, so she turns around and heads to the Common Room, hoping that Parkinson isn\'t there. Snape looks down at Draco Malfoy, his best friends son, and feels a twinge of sympathy. Snape watches as Draco paces the small corridor, mumbling to himself.

"I\'ve got it." He suddenly yells, startling Snape.

Draco smiles, actually smiles, at Snape when the idea hits him.

"All you have to do is put me and Jessy together to work on a potion, and then give us detention!" He tells Snape.

Snape smiles to himself and looks down at Draco.

"I\'ll try it. But if she gets her Father down here to yell at me, I\'ll tell him it was all your idea." Snape tells him.

He watches Draco\'s face fall when he mentions Jessy\'s father, but then sees a shimmer of hope before he turns away from his professor. Watching Draco disappear down the hall, Snape stands in his door.

"What have you gotten yourself into dear Jessica?" Snape questions his goddaughter before heading into his quarters.

The next day in Potions Snape announces a change in seating and that he\'d be picking them.

"Parkinson and Bulstrode. Flint and Zabini. Riddle and Malfoy." He rattles off his new list of partners.

Jessy holds in a protest when she sees Draco glaring at her from across the room. She crosses over to his table, ignoring the looks from Blaise, Parkinson and Bulstrode.

"I don\'t like this anymore than you do Malfoy." Jessy announces sitting at his table.

Draco doesn\'t answer, he merely throws an angry look at her before turning his attention to the front.

"Now now, let\'s not get hostile Jessica. Detention on Friday after dinner Miss Riddle." Snape tells her, while looking away from his class.

"Professor, do I have to remind you I leave on Friday\'s for the weekend?" Jessy asks.

"No, you don\'t. But I hardly think your Father will appreciate you skipping a detention." Snape retorts, turning around.

"Fine." She growls.

Draco smirks at Jessy when she turns her attention back to the desk.

"What\'s so funny Malfoy?" She hisses under her breathe.

"Your stupidity." He retorts.

"Oh sod off Malfoy." Jessy growls.

Draco looks around and finds, to his satisfaction, that Harry has not yet arrived to class, and Jessy hasn\'t noticed yet. Looking at Blaise, he raises his hands slightly. Blaise nods to him with a smirk on his face and then motions to Jessy. Draco smirks back at Blaise and then turns his full attention to Jessy.

"Hey Riddle." He whipsers, looking up to make sure Snape has his back turned.

Jessy groans and continues to scribble notes. Draco glares at her before moving his chair closer to hers. Jessy continues to ignore him, causing him to smirk inwardly. Placing his arm around her chair he taps her shoulder. He holds in a laugh when she turns her head towards the opposite side, and plants a smirk on his face when she turns back to him, glaring.

"Draco, quit it." She hisses.

It\'s all he can do to keep from kissing her right then. Instead he watches her go back to her notes before moving his chair even closer. This time Jessy turns to him and rolls her eyes before double-checking her notes. Draco lets his free hand lay lightly on her knee. He feels her tense up, but notices that she does nothing. Smirking to himself, he slides his hand further up, and still no resistance.

Jessy notices Draco moving his chair closer, and rolls her eyes at him. She goes back to checking over her notes for the test that\'s coming on Friday. When she feels him put his hand on her knee, her body goes rigid, and she tries to ignore him. He starts to slide his hand up her leg, which she tries to forget about. When Draco reaches the hem of her skirt, she tries to think about what happened when Marcus did that, and how bad it made her feel. Feeling his hand slide up her skirt a little ways makes her shift uncomfortably and put her hand over his.

"Draco please." She pleads quietly.

Draco stares at her, shocked at her reaction. Instead of listening, he moves his hand past hers and further up. He looks at her, her hair hiding her face. Sliding his hand up further, he notices she\'s not wearing anything under her skirt, and that makes him smirk. Draco misses the warning look she gives him before he starts to slide his hand again.

"I said quit it Malfoy!" Jessy yells out, jumping out of her seat.

The class stares at her, startled by her sudden outburst. Snape clears his throat to get her attention.

"He...he..tried to touch me..." Jessy trails off, her voice quiet and wavering.

Looking around she realizes that Harry is no where to be found, and his red-headed friend is actually looking at her with sympathy. She looks at Draco who\'s feigning a look of innocence.

"Mr. Malfoy, that\'s two Friday detentions starting this Friday." Snape growls.

Draco stares up at Severus, shocked that he was being serious. Snape glares at him and shakes his head. Before Draco can say anything the door to the room opens. Draco looks up and feels his heart sink when Harry Potter walks in.

"Jessy?" Harry\'s voice is soft and barely reaches Jessy.

She turns to the door; Harry is standing there, looking at her, silently questioning her. She feels the tears start to fall and rushes into his arms. Professor Snape motions for Harry to take her out of the class. Harry walks Jessy out of the room, leaving everyone staring after them, shocked. After Harry takes Jessy away, Snape turns to his students.

"Now I want you all to start working on that potion. Mr. Malfoy, my desk now."

When Draco reaches Professor Snape\'s desk, he regrets coming up with the detention idea.

"What was that all about?" Severus asks Draco quietly.

"Sev, there\'s no getting through to her." Draco replies in desperation.
