Brainstorming
Hermione and Ginny sat in the library with the makeshift map of the Malfoy Manor that Severus had drawn up for them. They were there thinking of a way to get into the Manor to set off a nuclear bomb to wipe out the entire death eaters inside a containment field that Hermione and Ginny were trying to create. The plan had been to get inside in enough time to detonate the bomb and get outside with time to spare to put up a containment field around the area. It was risky and plenty could backfire them but it was one of the only options that the girls could come up with that would turn Voldemort to complete ash along with all of the death eaters in existence. Granted a lot of them would be given the Dementor’s Kiss anyway so Ginny and Hermione didn’t see much of a problem.
The plan that they had come up with the Order was different, as Albus couldn’t get past the idea of Harry not killing Voldemort himself, so the girls kept it a secret. They had their own plans to destroy him; not wanting to risk their friends lives in a battle they knew they could lose.
“Do you think we should be doing this? We’re going against orders from Albus.” Ginny asked, looking at Hermione.
“Yes, I think we should be doing this. Albus has it in his head to have Harry defeat him but he could die and I can’t bear to lose him.”
“Me either. I just wanted to make sure that we both understood the complications we will be putting each other into. Gods, Albus is going to kill us when he finds out about this.”
“Yeah but who cares. Let’s just do this before they catch onto us. I’ll have to go see Colonel Waters about acquiring a bomb that we can use. God knows what he’s going to say about that. And meanwhile, I need you to work on a super strength containment field that will keep all of the radiation out of the atmosphere. We don’t want it to shift with the wind.”
“I’m already on it. I just need to make a few modifications and then I’ll be done. We should be ready within the month.” Ginny confirmed.
“Awesome, I had better go and see if I can convince Waters about all this. I hope he won’t be too mad that if I don’t get my way, I’ll Imperio his ass if it means we’ll save the world from Voldemort.” Hermione said with a grimace.
“Yeah, that would suck. That man has a temper on him that I don’t care to remember. Maybe it would be best if you Oblivated him as well. It wouldn’t hurt.”
“That’s a good idea…” Hermione trailed off as she heard footsteps outside the door. “We’re about to have company.”
Severus Snape made his way into the library wanting some alone time as in about a month and a day, his Master, if you could call him that, would be dead and he would be free. His heart had a little flutter of hope beat within his breast. He made his way in and sat in one of the armchairs next to the fire with his back to the girls. He hadn’t even noticed that they were there. He poured himself a glass of fire whiskey and sat back in his thoughts.
Hermione and Ginny whispered a silencing charm on themselves and watched the spy relax into the chair.
Hermione looked over at him as an idea popped into her head. “That’s how we’ll get in.” She whispered to Ginny.
“Huh?”
“Snape. His dark mark will allow us into the manor. We just need to convince him that our plan is a better one.”
“Well that’s going to be interesting. Maybe we should let him know we are here before we write him into our plan. What do you think?”
Hermione smiled and waved her hands over their heads and removed the silencing spell. She cleared her throat.
Severus jumped about a mile out of his chair and turned around. “I hadn’t noticed anyone else was here.”
“Well we wouldn’t be much good at our job if we didn’t know how to conceal ourselves.” Ginny said with a smirk.
Severus raised an eyebrow at her. “Ah yes, your job. How did Albus talk you into that?”
“We fought a lot at the beginning until he attacked us for two weeks with every spell except the Unforgivables to make his point. He was very cold in the way he acted. We got the message and gave in. It worked well in the end.” Hermione said.
Severus chuckled, “that’s Albus alright. He’s such an ass when he doesn’t get his way and has one hell of temper when shit hits the fan, so to speak. I can almost positively say that you have not seen his true rage.”
“I’m sure we can imagine but perhaps it’s better that we don’t.” Ginny said while sitting down in the armchair across from him.
“Perhaps.” Severus said as his scowl returned to his face.
Hermione took up her post in front of the fire and looked at him intently. “What do you think of the prophecy, Professor?”
“That’s rather out of the blue, Miss Granger. Why do you ask?”
“Humour me.”
“I think it’s an utter load of shit. But Albus won’t let us do anything else. Why?”
“Because we don’t really like Albus’ plan and was wondering if you would consider a different one.”
“It depends on what kind of plan it was.”
“How about wiping Voldemort and his Death Eaters off the face of the earth with a press of a button?”
Severus raised his eyebrows. “If you can accomplish that Miss Granger consider me in.”
“Fabulous, but first we’ll need a wizard’s oath saying that you will not divulge information of this plan to Albus or any other persons until after the mission is completed.”
“Not taking any chances are we Miss Weasley?”
“We don’t take chances. Risks like that will get you killed.”
“True.” Severus invoked the wizard’s oath with a moment’s hesitation but thought it best to do it anyway considering he hadn’t promised that he would participate.
“All right, come over here to our desk of plans and we’ll let you in on our little plan.” Hermione said as she made her way over the concealed desk that they had in the corner.
“What desk?” Severus asked, looking at Miss Granger as though she had lost her mind.
“Why this desk, Professor.” Hermione waved her hand over the desk and it reappeared.
“Clever.”
“We concealed it before you came in the room. We didn’t know whether a not it was Harry and Ron coming to berate us again so we just hid it in case.”
“How is the rest of the Golden Trio taking this?” Severus asked.
“I think they hate us,” Ginny whispered.
“They don’t hate us Gin, they just don’t understand what we’re doing. That’s ok, in ten years time when our plan goes off without a hitch, they’ll be thanking us for the goodness that we had done. Not to mention saved their lives in the process. Can you imagine Harry and Ron up against Voldemort? They would be dead within seconds.”
“You mean, if our plan goes off without a hitch.” Ginny said.
“Yeah, but positive outlook leads to a positive ending. The marines taught us that. Now come on. We can do this. We have to do this.”
“Yeah, I know.” Ginny said with a small
