Chapter Five: Bedrooms, Voldemort, Pre-training
A/N-Okay, so you are going to notice that it starts getting chopy. I just skipped some years because i thought it would be way to long if i did every year harry lived at Malfoy Manor. It starts getting dark in this chapter. Enjoy and thank you for the great reveiws. Your reveiws are still welcome though:D;)
Chapter Five: Bedrooms, Voldemort, and Pre-Training
Eight year old Harry woke up in Draco's room. Well now it was 'their' room, because they were sharing it. Although there was now two beds, because as Mr. Malfoy put it, very clearly "Eight year old boys do NOT need to share one bed." So now they don't share. Even though there was enough room's in this house for Harry and Draco to have more then 3 rooms each, they felt much more comfortable to be close. Being apart didn't feel like an option.
Their beds were on opposite walls, but they could still manage to find each others eyes through the dark. They were more like one person then anything else. They were inseperable, and had been for a good part of a year. The only time they weren't together was when Mrs. Malfoy would take Draco out shopping. Harry was forbidden to leave the grounds, so shopping seemed laughable. He wasn't bitter about it, he knew that it was for his own good. Mr. Malfoy had explained everything to him and Draco, how Harry's parents were killed by a nasty man named Peter Pettigrew, and the greatest wizard of all time was going to recruit these two young boys at the tender age of 17. Their training was to start the day Harry turned 10. Draco wasn't going to begin without him and Harry's birthday was after Draco's. That gave them 7 years to train fully, and work as hard as they could to push themselves to succeed. They wanted to impress their master, and this was already an idea planted firmly into their heads.
Harry had stopped calling Draco 'Master' the day Lucius heard him say it. He was very angry. They already had a Master, other then Lucius, and Draco was a far thing from being Harry's Master.
The only person Harry had seen since that night that he first seen a 'Floo Network' put into use, when those two men went into the fire, was a tall dark haired fellow. His name was Mr. Snape and he seemed very interested in Harry. Mr. Snape always avoided looking Harry directly in the eye which made Harry think that there was something Mr. Snape could see there that he really disliked. Even when he was speaking to Harry, he could tell that Mr. Snape was trying to cover up dislike in his voice.
So as Harry lay in his bed staring over at Draco's sleeping form his thoughts were taken to Mr. Snape. Draco yawned and rolled over his eyes fluttering open. His silver irises quickly sought out Harry's green ones, he gave him a lazy smle.
"Do you think Mr. Snape likes me?" Harry said quietly to Draco.
Draco looked momentarily stunned "I..what?"
"Do you?" Harry prompted.
"I don't know.. he must. If he didn't I don't think he would talk to you."
"Yea, but when he does, it's like he's forcing himself to be nice." Harry said.
"Well I know just as much as you." Draco said, letting Harry know that the conversation is over.
"Well do you think it has something to do with me coming from a muggle family? I know that it bothers your father even though he doesn't say anything about it. I wish people would just tell me how they feel instead of leaving me to guess." Harry said solemnly.
"Wanna know how I feel?" Draco asked
"Yes!"
"I feel like you should shut up about it." Draco said huaghtily
"I.." Harry started and then closed his mouth. He breathed in deeply and let the air out in a steady flow from his pursed lips.
Draco looked over at him and sighed. he got out of his bed and crossed the room, throwing the blankets back from Harry and crawling into his bed. He placed his arms around Harry and said, "Harry, we just shouldn't question things. It will all work out in the end. I know it will. You know that I love you and I will always be here when you need me. Your mine Harry. I will never let anyone take you away from me. No matter what."
Harry looked up at Draco and then pulled from his embrace. He climbed over him and sat on the edge of the bed.
"Where are you going?" Draco was asking. "What are you doing?"
"You scare me." Harry said bluntly.
"I didn't mean to. I'm just making sure you know that you are never going to leave me, because you are mine." Draco said seriously.
Just then their bedroom door flew open. Lucius was standing there looking regal as ever. Harry hated when Lucius walked in here and seen the boys in their pajamas. It made him feel petty and stupid.
"Good morning, boys." He said in a drawl.
"Good morning, sir." Draco and Harry said in unison.
He looked over the bedroom and noticed that Draco was laying in Harry's bed, and Harry looked uncomfortable and was sitting at the foot of it. When he finished his appraisal of the room he looked back at the boys.
"Narcissa and I are going out for the day. We won't be home until late tonight. Our Master needs us." Lucius told them, and turning on his heel he swept from the room.
Harry looked at Draco.
"What do you think they do at those meetings?" Harry asked Draco
Draco shrugged, "I don't know. I guess we will find out in a few years. My dad seems to like them though. And they get to wear neat masks."
*********************************
Lucius stood perfectly straight, Narcissa was on one side and Narcissa's sister, Bellatrix, was on the other.
With Harry at their disposal Lucius was able to get a blood sample from him. A couple of days after Harry first arrived at Malfoy Manor, Voldemort was ressurected. Once the snakelike man was given a body of his own he was curious as to how Lucius was able to obtain the blood. Lucius had made up a quick lie of seeing him at the beach with his muggle family, and he 'accidently' cut the boy and caught his blood in a cup. He put his defences up and new that the Dark Lord had surely not been able to preform a Legilemins on him. Lucius was never sure that
Voldemort had actually believed him.
Voldemort swept into the meeting area and his followers quickly knelt down. The skin on his face was stretched and tight over his bones, making his skull very apparent.
"Malfoy!" The man half-hissed. Lucius instantly went forward, kneeling down and kissing the hem of his Masters robes.
"Yes, Master?" he asked in a whisper.
"Rumor has it that you have a young Harry Potter living at your house right now?" It was a question.
Lucius was caught off-gaurd and didn't put his defences up. Harry's face floated in front of his vision.
"Ahh" whispered Voldemort.
"Crucio!" He yelled, caused Lucius to fall to the floor, writhing in an unimaginable pain.
Narcissa made a small squeak, but not loud enough for anyone to hear.
The curse was lifted and Lucius was left on the floor, taking deep ragged breaths.
"Why have you withheld this important information from me, Malfoy?" Voldemort hissed coldly.
"Master, I think this might actually be great news for you." Lucius whispered hoarsly.
"Oh do you? And how might that be?"
"I know Harry Potter is going to be a dark wizard. Think about having him here, at your disposal. Working with you! Not against you! Together you will both be great, together you would be able to do things that wouldn't be possible if you were alone. He is only eight right now. He already knows that the day after he turns ten, him and Draco will begin training to be a part of your ranks. Dumbeldore even knows I have him. I sent him a letter the day Harry came to my home. He didn't respond. It's been a year and he still hasn't responded. Your going to win." Lucius explained hastily.
Voldemort said nothing for a few moments. "So you thought that instead of bringing him here immediately for me to kill, that you would train him? What happens if he turns against us all?" Voldemort asked seriously.
"I can assure you, that will not happen." Lucius told him evenly
"How can you be so positive?"
"He will have lived with us for three years already by the time his training begins. He is having the lessons of the Dark taught to him day in and day out. He will know no other way. He will end up in Slytherin, I know that already. With Draco by his side nothing will go wrong. If Narcissa and I dont have his full trust, I can assure you that Draco does. They would never betray each other. And I know for a fact that Draco would never assist the light. Never. They both loathe muggles, and anything that has to do with muggles. Of course they both have their own, different reasons. But they reasons are strong nevertheless."
"Seeing as how you have been positively faithful to me, except for this last year, I will trust you. I will give you until five days before their first year starts at Hogwarts. Five days before that happens I want Draco and Harry brought to me. I want to see their progress. I don't expect too much from them at that point, but I need to see that they are faithful, that they are dark. Narcissa you may leave. Lucius, you are going to be staying a little bit later tonight." Voldemort said with a sneer. Everyone else knew that this was their cue to leave. Lucius was to be punished severely tonight.
Narcissa gave Lucius a fleeting look, and apparated away quickly.
*****************************
Today was Harry's 10 birthday! He was beyond excited because he knew that tommorow he and Draco would start their rugged training. Lucius had warned them that it would be hard work, and they would only be starting off with simple spells, but the prospect was still enlightening. They were going to be part of the greater good. Ridding the world of muggleborns, and useless halfbloods. People who didn't know one end of the wand from the other. Harry and Draco had been more then just taught what was wrong and right. They had been shown. They had been shown pictures of what can happen if the simplest potion was buggered up. Mostly by 'mudbloods' they had been called. Harry remembered asking what a mudblood was, Lucius told him it was a person with dirty blood. Muggle borns. And as we know, muggle's aren't worth the time of day. They are evil and ill deserving. Harry only knew that too well.
They had read books, studied about what was wrong and what was right. Morals were important.
Lucius, as usual, came into their room when they were just waking up. This time they were both in their own beds.
"Happy Birthday, Harry" Lucius said stiffly. "We aren't doing anything spectacular today. I think you boys should get your rest because tommorow will be difficult. We are having a formal dinner and Severus will be here for that. He will also be helping with the training, because he is the Potions Master at Hogwarts. I also wanted to let you boys know that you should take this training very seriously. Very seriously. In less then one years' time I will be taking both of you to visit our Lord. He want's to meet you both, he hears that you are both very promising and will do a great deal to help him reach his goals. That time won't come until you are at least of age, but remember, we are alive to service him. So do your best to impress boys. Your best. Now get dressed and come down to breakfast."
"Yes, Sir" Both boys said stoically.
A/N- Do you see how we are starting to see Harry and Draco become more...respectful, and more tense almost.
Next chapter-meeting with Voldemort.
