Chapter 6: Be Mine?
Chapter 6: Be Mine?
Chiara walked down to the common room later in the afternoon after she had done her homework for the day. It had been a long hard week for her. Still she received detentions from Snape for reasons she couldn’t exactly explain, she just got them. She walked across the common room when Draco jumped out in front of her and scared her.
“DRACO! What are you doing? I told you not to scare me like that again!” Chiara grabbed at her chest and took in a few deep breaths.
“Sorry.” Draco grinned. “Come.” Draco grabbed Chiara’s hand and pulled her out of the common room.
“Where are you taking me?” Chiara asked.
“I won’t take to long.” Draco kept hold of Chiara’s hand and led her through the hallways hastily. Chiara was wondering what was going on she had never seen Draco behave like this before. He stopped at the front of a brick wall.
“What’s this?” Chiara looked at the wall curiously. Did Draco want her to see a brick wall?
“Shhhh!” Draco hissed. They both stood there quietly for a while then the wall started to morph in to a small wooden door. “This is what we were waiting for.” Draco let Chiara’s hand go. “Close your eyes.” Draco opened the door and Chiara kept her eyes closed. He softly pushed her into the room so he could close the door behind him. Chiara stood still making sure that she wouldn’t walk in to anything. “Open your eyes.” Draco whispered softly in to her ear.
Chiara opened her eyes and looked around. Hey mouth fell open just slightly as she looked around the room she was in. it was covered in fine Indian hand sown silk. In the middle of the room was a table set out for a formal romantic meal. “Draco this is wonderful.” Chiara whispered, clearly being lost for words.
“Come sit.” Draco led Chiara over to one of the chairs and pulled it out for her to sit on. Draco walked over to the other chair and sat down opposite her. Chiara smiled at him for his kind gesture and was glad that it involved a meal as she hadn’t eaten all day.
“What’s this for Malfoy?” Chiara pondered as she put a piece of pumpkin in to her mouth. Draco looked up and her and grinned.
“Oh I just wanted to get in to your good books.” Draco winked at her.
“Oh you’re doing very well Malfoy, very very well.” Chiara laughed. She continued to eat her meal but found it hard to eat properly after realizing that Draco had been watching her eat closely. “Do you want me to eat this Malfoy or must I starve?” Chiara joked.
“Oh sorry.” Draco looked down at his food, his face turning red. Chiara began to watch him, she knew what he was getting at and she didn’t know if she was ready to make a commitment, especially when she was in her second last year at Hogwarts. She was almost half way through her meal when Draco reached in to one of his pockets and pulled out a little card hanging off a rose. “Please, read it.” Draco handed it over to Chiara. Chiara accepted the card and opened it.
‘Chiara,
Please be mine.
Draco.’
Chiara looked at the letter for a moment. Just then it had hit her, she realized how much he actually wanted her. She watched him change from the mean, crude Malfoy he once was in to the one she sat in
front of now. She didn’t know how to reply to his request. She didn’t want to let him down and make him sad, especially when he’s done so much to get her attention. She looked up at him and watched as his head fell down to his chest in disappointment thinking that she was going to reject him.
“Oh what the hell, I’ll go out with you Malfoy.” Chiara sighed thinking that it couldn’t hurt just to be with Draco for a little while till he realized that he didn’t really want her. Draco looked up at her with the biggest smile any Malfoy could carry, since they didn’t carry smiles at all just smirks.
“Thank you.” Draco reached out his hand and grabbed Chiara’s. “I promise you won’t regret this.”
“Oh I better not.” Chiara smiled. They both returned to their meals. Chiara watched as Draco ate looking as joyous as she had ever seen him in her whole five years that she’s known him.

Chiara and Draco walked towards the Slytherin Common room hand in hand. Chiara felt nervous about her peers knowing that she and Draco were in a relationship. Draco walked in to the common room pulling Chiara in after him. Students sitting in the common room began to stare in awe at the sight of Chiara and Draco holding hands. All of a sudden it began to feel awkward for Chiara as the eyes of 50 students began to look at her. She let Draco’s hand go and dropped it by her side.
“What are you all looking at?” Draco shouted at them, sensing Chiara’s awkwardness. The students looked away quickly as if they were scared of Draco, except for Pansy. She kept looking at Draco as he turned back to Chiara to say something. Pansy became angered and stormed out of the common room, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. “Just ignore them.” Draco whispered comfortingly.
“Yeah I know.” Chiara smiled. “Anyway I have work to catch up on so I’ll see you at dinner I guess.” Chiara gave Draco a quick kiss on the cheek and began to walk up to the girls common room. Draco turned away and went to sit on one of the couches where his ‘group’ were normally seated.
Zach stood behind the hallway to the girls dorm rooms watching as Chiara and Draco said good bye to one another. He knew it all along. He watched as Chiara began to walk down the hallway and grabbed her arm, pulling her in to one of the cloak rooms off the hallway.
“Zach?” Chiara mumbled wondering what the hell he was up to.
“Hey Ara.” Zach grinned, lighting up the tip of his wand. “So you and Malfoy hey?”
“Yes me and Malfoy. Got something to say about it?” Chiara sighed. Zach shook his head.
“Not really. Just that I TOLD YOU SO! See Chiara you need to learn to trust the little brother a bit more then what you do now.” Zach softly hit her arm. “You’ll be the next Mrs. Malfoy, a damn better sight then that Narcissa Malfoy.” Chiara let out a loud scoff.
“I hadn’t really thought that far ahead Zach. I really didn’t expect on this relationship lasting that long.”
“Oh come on Ara, you need to put faith in to your relationships, that’s probably why you haven’t had many.” Zach joked.
“Oh you know that’s not the reason, I’ve just been wanting to concentrate on school more then having a boyfriend.” Chiara crossed her arms.
“That’s what you always say Ara. You’re in a relationship now, make the best of it. Before you go on to some stupid stressful job that doesn’t let you have a life at all. I have to see you happy some time in you life.”
“For Merlins sake Zachary you’re one talker.” Chiara laughed. She opened the door. “I don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy.” Chiara walked out of the closet, Zach following her.
“But you’re happy now aren’t you?” Zach yelled after her as she walked away. Chiara put her hand up to wave goodbye but didn’t reply to his question.
