Chapter 5: The Binding

Disclaimer: Most of these are not my characters they belong to J.K. Rowling. I’m just borrowing them.
Summary: Harry is soul bound to a half Fae.

A/N: This chapter might be a bit short, but it's full of information. And as you can see, I'm doing my own thing with the Fae and Wizard bloodlines.

Chapter 5: The Binding
Past:
Albus Dumbledore was in a secluded clearing that hosted a small cabin and lush gardens. Sitting on a bench in said gardens, he was speaking to a woman with golden hair and sky blue eyes wearing a white flowing gown.
“It is imperative that we insure our future. Even though the Fae world is separate from that of the Wizarding world, it could still be harmed by the Dark Lords actions. Your daughter would be an asset to our future. If she was soul bound to a wizard, their child would be most powerful and most respectful of the Fae world and of nature itself.”
The young woman looked at this wizard, a friend of her human love and thought about what he said. Normally, the Fae would not involve themselves with the human world, but she was drawn to the man she chose to mate with. She knew she was involved with a destiny that she had no control over and she suspected that this was part of it.
“It is most unusual to be in the position that I am in. Just being married to a human is enough to separate me from my Fae home. But given that my Queen knows something that I do not, I find myself here talking to you. My husband fell in love with me quickly, but I fear that he is upset at the position we find ourselves in. He loves his daughter greatly and he knows all to well who you plan on binding her to. This could put her in severe danger and he is not at all pleased.” She paused looking at Dumbledore before continuing. “Although, I know he is unpleased, I also know that this is necessary. I give you my word that this binding will come to be and you know my word holds true. Please bring the boy to me at the next full moon and I will do the binding myself.”
Dumbledore then found himself at the home of James and Lily Potter and spoke to them about the binding.
“I am quite surprised she agreed to something like this.” James said as he paced the room. “It’s unusual enough that she is married to a human and has a child. Why is she involving herself with the human world, I thought they tried to avoid us as much as possible?”
“Binding them together would create a powerful child to complete second part of the prophecy. Their own world is in as much danger as ours and that of the Muggles. Once the Muggle world was defeated, he would slowly do the same to each and every other world. The Dark Lord feeds off of the destruction of others and will not stop with just the humans.” Dumbledore said in all certainty.
“This would also insure the prophecy was fulfilled since we can not guarantee our own survival of the Dark Lord’s attacks. We need the two to find each other no mater what happens to us. That is of course, if Harry fulfills the first part of the prophecy.” He said grimly.
James was unhappy with Dumbledore’s last statement, but he had to be realistic. There was no way of knowing for sure what the future holds. As he looked at Lily, he saw tears in her eyes as she held Harry closely to her. The entire situation was grim indeed. Making eye contact with Lily, James agreed.
At the next full moon they all found themselves at a glade in the woods. For the protection of the girl child, they felt it was necessary to keep her home a secret. Merlin forbid that the Dark Lord would find her and take her life before her time.
It was a beautiful glade, alive with life in the moonlight due to the presents of the Fae woman. Heather was her name, named after the flower that opens the portals between the human world and that of the Fae. Fitting really considering that she mated with a wizard, Marcus, who created the child, Erin, to be bonded to that of the wizard child, Harry. It was necessary that the child created by the two destined children before them to be of Fae blood, but dominated by that of the Wizard blood. The catch is that Harry must succeed against the Dark Lord and live, to create the child to end it all.
The complexities of the Fae genes were fascinating. When a Wizard and Fae mated, the Fae blood would be dominate causing the child to produce mostly Fae magic. But if said child then mated with a wizard as well, then what they would produce is a Wizard Mage, a Wizard with the ability to use wizard and earthly magic with just a thought, a most powerful Wizard indeed. This is what Earth was relying on and with this, the Earth and the beauty there of just might survive.
