Deception
Maleficent
Lucius chose to take her somewhere safe. Someplace secure. A place where she would not so easily leave.
It was her actions that brought this about. He made that clear.
He fired the servants.
He took only a single house elf. His name was Nim. He paid a small fortune for the elf. But he needed to make sure that someone was watching her when he was not able to.
She was not herself.
‘I want my babies,’ She begged, her eyes in tears. She was kneeling before Lucius, hands clasped in prayer.
He did not like that she suffered, but he would not bend on this.
He did not look at her, instead choosing to read the newspaper.
‘Lucius, PLEASE!’ she sobbed harder, sounding more like an infant than a woman.
‘Perhaps you should have thought of that before you betrayed me.’
She grabbed his leg, shaking him, and he looked down at her, distaste clear, ‘I wish you would stop these tiresome protests.’
She let him go, trembling so hard her teeth chattered.
‘You can’t do this to me, please!’
He raised an eyebrow and dryly said, ‘It is done. Besides,’ he took a sip of tea before turning the page, ‘I thought you would be relieved. Is that not why you left? Because you did not want my children? I took care of the problem for you.’
He had not know she was fleeing because of the baby in her womb, because she feared another child by him. It was unwanted because he was the father. Naturally why not rectify the situation by getting rid of the other two?
Lucius admitted some fondness for the boys, but he would sacrifice anything for her. Could she not see that?
‘Even if you actually meant to keep them, I would still take them away. My dear, did you think you could simply leave and it would all be okay? I am baffled by your lack of insight.’
Ginny was crying so hard that she made no noise.
He hated that she was in pain, but she had to learn.
He sighed. In a more gentle voice, he continued, ‘If you behave, you may have other children. But if you misbehave…’
He smiled, completely lacking remorse, ‘I think you understand, just a little bit better, what I am willing to do. Now, please be a good girl and finish your breakfast.’
