None the wiser

Ok, Hermione is only 23, i mean she's still young and she's questioning if what she did was right at the same time she's mad at Sirius. She loves him but hate's him for not looking for her after she left.

The next day I went to go pick up Sage from Harry and Ginny’s I changed into a pair of black jeans and my favorite red shirt before flooing over. I stepped out of the fireplace and looked around. Sage was asleep on the couch and sitting in the chair across from it was Sirius his eyes glued to Sage. “We need to talk.” He said his voice hoarse. “Yeah we do.” I said quietly. We walked into the kitchen and cast a silencing charm. “I want to know her.” Sirius said firmly. I nodded, “I don’t know Sirius, I don’t want her to see girls coming and going.” I said. He looked at me. “Hermione I stopped that awhile ago. I was always waiting for you to come back. You never did. Now I see why I just don’t understand.” He whispered. “I thought I explained this last night.” I said tiredly. “it’s bullshit and you know it.” He said sitting down. “You didn’t tell me Hermione and I want the GOD DAMN TRUTH!” He yelled.

I spun around my temper flaring. “You want to know why Sirius. Your immature your unpredictable you have a temper you get drunk you’re a horrible role model and I don’t want you to break her heart the way you broke mine!” I yelled before taking a shaky breath. Sirius looked at me as if I had grown two heads. “Broke your heart YOU LEFT ME! You left I didn’t one night were fine then your gone! How stupid can you be Hermione? You didn’t get it you still don’t. I was in LOVE With you! I wanted to be with you. I’ve always wanted kids now I have one and you don’t want her to know me!” He yelled slamming his fist on the table one of the glass panes in the cabinets shattering.

“I never said that Sirius. I don’t want her to know your floozies! I didn’t want to leave Sirius. I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to come home and tell you but then I thought about how you would feel. If things didn’t work out how she would ask so many questions. How we would both feel. So I saved you the trouble of having to deal with it. I took care of her myself. I raised her I’ve held her hair when she get’s sick I hold her after she has a nightmare. I’ve been there. If you want her to be a part of your life you better come up with a damn good plan and STRAIGHTEN YOUR SHIT OUT!” I yelled. “Now I’m taking Sage home.” I said before moving to walk out of the kitchen. Sirius grabbed me and pulled me to him. His eyes dark.

“For the smartest witch of your age you are acting stupid.” he growled before kissing me. “I always told you how hot you were when you were angry.” He whispered. I looked at him dazed. Before pushing him away. “NO SIRIUS NO!” I yelled before running out of the kitchen grabbing Sage and flooing back home. I placed Sage into her bed and walked into the kitchen. I put on a fresh pot of coffee and took out two mugs before walking back to the fireplace and flooing Remus. He walked through the fireplace looking healthy for the first time in a few years. I poured him a cup of coffee and sat down. “I heard about you and Sirius. He and I talked after you had left. I don’t know what to say Mione. He’s hurt, and he’s angry and He and Ginny got into it after she got back. She went off on him and he went off on her. The both of them yelling at each other until Ginny started crying and asking him why. I don’t know what happened because Harry ushered me into the dining room so they could work things out.” I nodded remaining silent. “He still loves you Mione. He never stopped the only question here is do you still love him?” he asked. I froze before nodding.

Remus sighed. “Hermione did you talk to him at all today?” he asked I nodded. “Why didn’t you tell him you were pregnant?” he asked. “Remember that day I asked you what Sirius thought about kids?” I asked. He nodded before realization dawned over his face. “Oh Hermione why didn’t you talk to him?” He asked. “Because you’re his best friend. I’m so angry Remus. Why couldn’t he come looking for me?” I asked before standing up. Remus hugged me. “I don’t know Mione. I asked him the same question many times. Everyone saw how miserable he was. Whenever I asked him he would never answer just take another shot of fire whiskey.” He said softly. I nodded, “I want Sirius to be a part of Sage’s life but I just don’t know.”

Remus sighed, “Hermione only you can decide what you want to do here. I can’t tell you I can’t even suggest anything. Sage is your daughter as much as she is Sirius’s. Now it’s up to you to figure out what to do.” Remus said.

After he was gone and Sage was dressed and had eaten breakfast I decided to bring up the subject with her. “So did you like Harry and Ginny’s party?” I asked. She nodded, “I liked that man. He’s funny.” She said. “Sirius?” I asked. She nodded, “You think he’s funny?” I asked. She nodded. “Sage do you ever think about your father?” I asked. She nodded, “I wonder why other kids have one and I don’t. Why don’t I Mommy?” She asked. I sighed. “That man you met at the party. Sirius…He’s your father.” I said softly. “he’s my daddy?” she asked looking at me her gray eyes confused. I nodded. She squealed happily and hugged me. “Can we go see him? Can we? Can we?” She begged. I nodded. “Ok we’ll go see him.”

An hour later we were flooing to an all too familiar house. Sage sat down on the couch while I went to go find Sirius. “Sirius?” I called throughout the house. “What do you want?” he asked walking out of the kitchen. I spun around shocked. “you scared me.” I said softly. “It’s my house.” he said carelessly. I nodded, “I know.” I answered. He opened his mouth but I put up a hand to stop him. “Can you not talk right now this is hard enough.” I said he looked at me confused. I took his hand in mine and led him to the library. Sage was still on the couch her hands folded in her lap swinging her feet back and forth. When she saw me walk in with Sirius a wide smile appeared on her face. I turned and saw Sirius look at me confusion on his face. “She wanted to meet her daddy.” I said simply letting go of his hand. Sage jumped off the couch and ran at him she jumped up while Sirius sank to his knees catching her and pulling her close. “Daddy?” she asked looking up at him. Sirius nodded unable to talk. His eyes meeting mine. I felt tears roll down my cheeks my breathing labored. When he was looking at Sage I snuck out and made my way to the kitchen. I tried to steady my breath. I sat down my legs shaking.

“Sirius if you so much as hurt her I will castrate you.” I muttered to myself. I heard giggling and then Sirius’s laugh fill the house.

My daughter had her father now, two parents who loved her unconditionally. Now I just prayed she wouldn’t get hurt. I looked around the kitchen. “Hermione…” Sirius said walking into the kitchen. I turned to look at him wiping tears off my cheeks. “Thank you.” he said meeting my eyes. I nodded still crying. “I’m happy she’s happy.” I said simply he nodded. “I don’t even know her and I’m already going crazy at the thought of her dating.” he said making me laugh. “Although having the only man that ever escaped Azkaban can be very intimidating.” he said. I knew what was running through his head. “We still have time before that.” I said simply. He nodded. “we need to figure everything out.” he said I nodded, “I know but not today. Just spend time with your daughter today.” I said. He nodded before walking out of the kitchen. A few minutes later Sage’s laughter filled the room making me smile.
