Chapter 4: The Three Tasks

As Harry began his ultimate test to save Ginny, he met Ron and Hermione inside the tent. Harry finished putting on his last glove, Hermione grabs Harry tightly and they hug.

'I'm very scared for you on this one, Harry.'

Ron walks up to Harry and Hermione. He takes Hermione from Harry and holds her in his arms. Hermione cries in Ron's shoulder as Harry started to leave.

'Harry...'

'Don't even try to stop me, Ron. I'm going to save Ginny for both our sakes.' Harry said.

'I just wanted to say, good luck, and Harry there are others that want to say the same.'

The First Task - Harry vs. The 10 Dragons
Harry smiled and walked out of the tent. Walking toward the large rock arena, thousands of students and several faculty members cheered him on. Harry spotted McGonagall. She winked at him. He knew it was her doing for having all the students there, supporting him. Harry sees a large net above the tower where the students are seated.

Harry looks for any signs of the dragons. The crowd quiets down. He sees the golden egg sitting alone, he makes a run for it but the Chinese Fireball dragon appears. Harry's forced to retreat behind a rock as the dragon flames him. Harry stumbles and falls around the arena. He calls for his broomstick. It appears before and Harry jumps on it flying toward the sky.

He leaves the arena and the dragon chases after him. As Harry gets into the air, the dragon starts firing its flames at Harry. Harry sees a large shadow above him. He dives around to hide in it. As he flies past the shadow, Harry sees five more dragons waiting for him; the Antipodean Opaleye, the Common Welsh Green, the Hebridean Black, the Norwegian Ridgeback and the Peruvian Vipertooth. He barely dodges the Peruvian Vipertooth, and then sees one of the four Golden Egg's in the distance.

The six dragons follow him. The Norwegian Ridgeback fires at Harry, he grabs his wand and yells, Expecto Patronum! His wand creates and blinding shield protecting him from the flames. Harry grabs his first egg, the Ridgeback flies up and smashes into four other dragons: the Antipodean Opaleye, Common Welsh Green, Peruvian Vipertooth, and the Hebridean Black. All five fall into a deep cavern, disappearing.

As Harry watched the dragons fall to their deaths, he felt a sigh of relief that half the dragons were disposed of that quickly. In a split second the Chinese Fireball dragon almost grabs the front his broomstick. He quickly outmaneuvers the dragon, and files back put the first egg in the net.

'One down and three to go.' Harry said to himself. The Chinese Fireball was catching up to Harry. The dragon bursts by the crowd and they look stunned. Harry starts flying at high speed around the Hogwarts buildings. He sees three more dragons in the distance: Romanian Longhorn, Swedish Short-Snout and the Ukrainian Ironbelly. He notices that the Romanian Longhorn and the Swedish Short-Snout both have golden eggs in their huge claws.

He flies straight toward the Ukrainian Ironbelly. The Chinese Fireball flames again. Harry does several barrel rolls to dodge the Fireball's flames. Blind, the Ironbelly and Fireball crash into each other. They both begin fighting each other to the death.

Harry flies down beneath the misty mountains in the lower part of the arena. As the Swedish Short-Snout searches for Harry, underneath the dragon, Harry whispers 'Impedimenta.' The Short-snout slows down. Harry quietly casts a hovering spell on the huge claw in front of him. The dragon releases the egg. 'Wingardium Leviosa!' He catches the second egg. Harry casts one final spell. 'Imperio!' The dragon under Harry's control flies quickly toward Romanian Longhorn. As the crowd cheers Harry on he sees the third egg. He commands the dragon to fly straight into the other. The Longhorn drops the egg and Harry catches it, putting them both into the net with the first egg.

Hermione and Ron watch from the tent. Hermione couldn't believe her eyes when Harry had three eggs and had 9 out of 10 dragons defeated. Harry lands back into the arena to take a short breather. Just as Harry lands, the crowd goes silent. He hears some rock clatters. He figured that it was a rat of some kind.

Hermione yells at Harry. 'Harry, look out! It's the Hungarian Horntail!'

The dragon fires at Harry. Hermione gasps and turns back to Ron. Harry's forced to jump and hide behind a nearby large rock. Rocks or not, Harry flies out of the arena toward Hogwarts. He makes it halfway when the dragon cuts him off and whips him off his broom. Harry lands on the roof of Hogwarts, hanging on for dear life. The dragon digs into the roof, strewing tiles as it goes closer to Harry. Harry reaches for his broom but it's stuck. He jerks it loose and lets go of the roof just in time before the dragon swipes at him. He falls a long way but regains control. He sees the last egg on the dragon itself. It is tied around the neck on a huge metal chain.

Harry thought this one is impossible. He catches the Horntail's attention by flying to an area with a bridge, he flies through a gap in the bridge but the dragon crashes into it and falls into the water.
With the dragon dead, Harry aims at the chain lock. 'Diffindo!' The chain breaks apart releasing the last and final egg.

Harry flies back to the arena where the other three eggs are waiting for him.

Hermione and Ron watch the skies for any sign of Harry. Everyone in the audience is overlapped with concern.

'Ron, do you think he survived?' Hermione choked.

'I don't know.'

Then someone in yells; 'Look, it's Harry!' Hermione and Ron both look out from the tent. Everyone at Harry wondering where the fourth egg is. Someone in the audience yells, 'Where's the last egg?' Harry yells out 'Apparate!' The final egg appears before the audience. Ron laughs while rolling his eyes and yells. 'Show off!' Harry kissed his hand and pointed out to the sky in honor of Dumbledore.

Harry hears Ron and laughs while returning to Hogwarts. The Weasley lift Harry onto their shoulders. Everyone in the room cheers for Harry. Harry tells the twins to put him down. Hermione runs up to Harry and hugs him.

With all the celebration going on, Harry's mind quickly changed to a thought of Ginny kissing him after his triumph. He asks Hermione 'Any word on Ginny?' Hermione shakes her head 'no'. Harry signaled for Ron to help him carry the eggs into the room where Cedric told him about when he got the Golden Egg during the Tri-Wizard Tournament.

Hours later, Harry checked the eggs in the prefects bathroom. He listened to one of the eggs. It was speaking in Parseltongue. The others were familiar spells he heard before. But he could make them out due to the overlapping in the tub.

In the Chamber of Secrets, Voldemort heard cheering from the castle. He was one step closer to his enemy's death. 'Well, well. Looks like Harry survived two of my tasks. Very impressive.' Ginny overheard Voldemort and released tears of happiness. She was one task closer to being rescued from Voldemort.

The Second & Third Tasks
Harry's second task really didn't seem like a task at all. It seemed too easy. Harry along with other students including Ron and Hermione arrived at the maze arena. As Harry walked next to Professor McGonagall, she addressed the students.

'Attention, please! As all of you are aware, Harry has reached his final task to rescue one of our own.' The crowd cheered. 'As Harry goes through the maze, we shall have to wait.'

Harry enters the maze with the four potions. The entrance closes up behind Harry. Heavy mist sets in with creature noises are all around. Harry remembers the maze from Tri-Wizard Tournament. The voice of Cedric helped Harry through the maze to the Goblet of Fire. As Harry approached the Goblet, he checked to make sure had the four potions.

Harry grabbed the Goblet of Fire and transported into the Chamber of Secrets where he awaits his fate.
