A/N= Sorry, is a short chapter. I promise next will be longer. By the way, I decide to cut Severus flashback for the moment as Charity suggested, it make more sense. In next chapter you\'ll learn more about Severus past love in another flashback.

Chapter 4

\"Severus, are you OK?\" asked Dumbledore worried for the trance he noticed in the man in front of him.
After a long pause Severus slowly opened his eyes and answered with a voice barely a whisper, \"Yes, headmaster, I am\". Slowly he raised his right hand to his forehead hiding his more than usual paled face.
Being a wise man as Dumbledore, he was certain that Severus was not telling the truth. Of course he\'s not, he could sense the storm crossing in the younger man mind. More over, when it was precisely Dumbledore who had helped Severus to went through the pain the loss of Daniella caused deep inside him. A pain the old wizard perfectly knew will arise again after the petition he had just asked him. He walked to reach Severus and placed a fatherly hand in his shoulder.
\"I had never asked you to help us with this if it wasn\'t for the fact, that I\'m very aware that last time you tried to do the same my friend Randalost is doing, you almost did it.\" Said Dumbledore.
Abruptly, Severus turned to face his mentor, and an expression of pain, fear and sorrow crossed his face. He strode forward a little to escape from Dumbledore glare and barely moving his lips he replied; \"I didn\'t did it. I never completed the potion. I\'m afraid I can\'t help you this time headmaster.\"
Dumbledore sighted deeply and walked in front of Severus. He was aware of the pain he was causing the younger wizard, but he has to insist. His best friend was asking him for help, and after all, it was for a good cause; to save a girl from a curse. There was a long pause before Dumbledore speak again. \"Severus, I know what I\'m asking you could be difficult and could bring back to you, memories you may not want to relive. But this is a very special opportunity to complete your unfinished goal; to prove yourself capable of achieve what ever you want, even the most difficult tasks. You have the opportunity to prove yourself and prove Daniella that if you had arrived on time you would save her.\"
Severus raised his dark eyes to stare at Dumbledore\'s face, but instead, the pale and beautiful face of Daniella invaded his mind; smiling and staring at him with her unforgettable blue eyes and long and wavy black hair. Severus nodded furiously to get rid of this vision. He felt an uncommon sensation in the pitch of his stomach that was making him feel sick. Then, ran his fingers through his hair and sighted deeply. \"Master, is not for her\". He lied, and after a short paused he continued, \"I\'m not able to complete that potion now. Last time it took me almost a year to get near the completion of it. It is a very complicated potion, it has a lot of rare ingredients and the lead time between ingredients is very long. And even if I got all ingredients, I\'ll not be able to obtain the last ingredient anymore.\" Instinctually, he reached his left forearm with his right hand. \"It would mean a victory for the dark lord\".
\"Yes, Severus, I recognize the risk. And that\'s something I will have to work with. The dark lord will not take any advantage of this, I assure you. Think of what this could mean for the wizardry world. If you achieve to brew this potion, you\'ll have the opportunity not only save Mia, but other vampires from their curse.\"
\"I \'m not sure headmaster\"
\"Let\'s do this, Severus; take some time and do your research. Look for the feasibility to start working on this potion as soon as possible. I\'ll be in charge of the risks.\" Dumbledore smiled while staring across his half-moon spectacles; his eternal twinkling eyes looking at the confused face of Severus. Severus hate when he do this, because that means the old man was on something else; a secret agenda he not necessary knows yet.
\'Damn old man\', he thought.
