Dinner was....tolerable
All the preying and preparation in the world could not save Severus from the nealry unbearable journey to a pub/restaurant Beverly knew fairly well called the \'Blue Bell Inn\', appearances were very diseaving Severus thought relieved to himself. On the outside it seemed to be a normal brick building with a small wooden childs park outside and a white plastic and glass conservatory in the back contianing a pool table. However when he was able to get a good look on the inside it was quite tolerable, very clean and mahogony polished wooden booths and tables near and around the bar.
\"What would you like to drink Rus?\" He scanned the drink menu,
\"Whiskey please...\" He didnt think anything of it when there didnt return a reply and looked up from the menu, oddly enough she had a face on her with a quirked brow that said \'theres no way your gonna have alcohol Mr...\'
\"Try again...\" He quickly scanned again and smirked, he would humour himself best break the ice one at a time,
\"Beer?\" She chuckled warmly and shook her head, he knew was coming the no drinking policy, by the gods he would never survive,
\"Whilst you are eighteen and legally able to drink Rus, you will not be aloud to drink with me, i have a parental role to uphold you know?\" She ended the sentence with a most posh manner, which Severus laughed at she clearly did not suit that tone and was purely for humour, he scanned the \'soft drinks\' section
\"I\'ll take a coke please...\" Beverly nodded and got up from her seat and headed for the bar leaving him to scan over the larger food menu, he was slightly more relieved to see the meals were more to his tasting and he at least knew what they were. After they had both placed their meal orders Severus knew the breaking the ice and welcoming chat was now in full swing but wasnt too bad, for now.
\"So how was your journey?\" He took a sip from his drink and placed it on the card \'fosters\' coaster,
\"Long...\" She chuckled warmly and nodded, taking a sip of her own drink which Severus realise was alcohol,
\"Do you have any ideas what you would like to take at sixth form or college, university?\" He looked blankily at Beverly for a moment, what the hell was she talking about? Seeing his confusion she went on to better explain herself,
\"I mean your Aunt Minerva didnt say what you were planning on doing this term...\" Minerva...He growled warningly inside his mind, mentally cursing the old wench,
\"I hadnt really thought about it, I\'ll be able to research my options wont I?\" Beverly nodded furrowing her brows and frowning in thought,
\"Of course, Serenity will have quite a few prospectus\' for the coming terms for possibly everywhere she hasnt decided what she wants to do either...I think she\'s probably waiting for her GCSE results.\" GCSE? he thought to himself Oh, muggle version of O.W.Ls, I understand,
\"So when does she finish them?\"
\"Today actually, or she would have been with me to meet you. Over the last few years she has become very academic.\" The food arrived and the ate relatively quietly only paused by the odd question hear and there on both parts,
\"So do you have any hobbies Rus?\" Why does the woman insist on using that ignorant name, it sounds more like a bloody house elves than a wizards, pardon scratch that muggle teenage boy!
\"Reading,chess, I enjoy the odd opera or classical performance...\" Bit too mature for a teenager, dumb it down a bit Severus. Her eyes lit up and widened, oh oooh.
\"Really? The sixth form have a boys have a choir, you should look into it.\" He coughed his drink and spluttered a little at her assumption,
\"Oh no, I meant by veiwing not performing.\" Beverly chuckled heartily and Severus did a little more subtely with relief, after an hour had passed Severus was begining to get a vibe that Beverly was a more modern day version of Molly Weasely, this did not boed well for him, if she was anything like, he knew how much Molly fussed over her children and he was nothing like them. It was about quarter to three before the bar maid walked over to them at the table and reminded Beverly that she still had Serenity to pick up from school, and it was nearing three, Severus was one for punctuality no matter what the case and irratated him that Beverly was in complete contrast to him, she so it happened was ALWAYS late.
