Disclaimer: Most of these are not my characters they belong to J.K. Rowling. I’m just borrowing them.
Summary: Harry is soul bound to a half Fae.

Chapter 4: The real meaning behind it all.
Once they both sat down in Dumbledore’s office, they were graced with the typical. “Lemon Drop?”
“No, thank you.” They both responded in kind.
Professor Dumbledore proceeded to explain everything to her that he had already told Harry about her being half fae and half witch, about Dumbledore being close friends with her father and about the type of magic she should eventually have.
Harry then told Dumbledore about her ability with languages and it didn’t surprise him at all. But for some reason, Harry had the feeling that Dumbledore was leaving something out, like normal. There were still two months before Harry was to start his final year at Hogwarts and thankfully Dumbledore agreed that they could both stay and keep each other company.
As they left Professor Dumbledore’s office, Harry decided to take Erin over to see Hagrid.
What they didn’t know is that after they left. Professor Snape decided to pay a visit to Dumbledore.

“Albus, what are you up to now?” Snape asked exasperated. “I know all to well that look on your face. You are up to something and it’s in regards to Potter and that girl. Who is she, Albus?”
Dumbledore took a deep breath and looked at Snape wondering how much he should tell him.
“Severus, her name is Erin Keely and I knew her parents before she was born. I was involved in an arrangement between her mother and Harry’s parents.” Dumbledore paused waiting for Snape’s reaction.
“Oh what a tangled web we weave.” Snape responded with a sneer. “Please continue.”
“We did a soul binding between Harry and Erin when they were babies. They are betrothed.” Dumbledore said with a sigh.
“More that betrothed, Albus!” Snape exclaimed. “Why a soul binding?” He asked angrily.
“Insurance.” Dumbledore simply sated. “Voldemort maybe dead, but it’s far from over. Many believe that there will be a second wave and if that is true, than it is up to Harry’s child to succeed.”
Snape couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “So the drama continues for Potter. Why this girl? What is so important about her?”
“She is half fae and half witch. Her father was angry that we made this arrangement, but once we had the word of a Fae the deal was sealed. A Fae will never go back on their word once it was given.”
“And what would have happened to the girl if Potter had died?” Snape asked with venom. He never liked Potter but even he knew that what they did was immoral.
“She would have died of loneliness.” He responded sadly. “And she would have never known why.”
“That was a mighty big risk, Albus.” Snape snapped.
“It was a risk worth taking. If we had all died and Harry was the only one left, her magic would have found Harry and they could fulfill the arrangement on their own without knowing it was forced upon them from birth.” Dumbledore said as he was looking down at his hands.
Snape was angry. How many lives would Albus manipulate?
Dumbledore didn’t notice Snape’s sneer as he was trying to ponder as to why she came to Harry now and why had she done so before any of her magic had come to her. If it was only due to Harry being in danger she would have come to him any number of times before now.
Just then an owl was tapping at Dumbledore’s window and he let the owl in. He removed the letter and read it.
Professor Dumbledore,
I am sad to inform you that Harry Potter’s home was attacked by Death Eaters and there are no signs of Mr. Potter anywhere. The home itself was completely destroyed and the Dursley’s were murdered in their sleep. We hope that you might have some news upon the whereabouts of Mr. Potter.

Dumbledore handed the letter to Snape. “Ah, I think this answers my question. Apparently, her soul foresaw something that we had not. Harry was severely beaten by his Uncle and would have not have been able to fight off the Death Eaters in his condition. And so this is why Miss. Keely found Harry before her magic revealed itself. Oh, the power of a soul binding.” Dumbledore said with a twinkle in his eyes. “I will have to send a letter to Mr. Fudge to inform him that Harry is safe here.”
