Trapped
37. Trapped
He surely had not missed it much and the thought that something was wrong with him trapping him here again was unsettling.
Dribble greeted them with a serious face and ushered Harry into the examination room, Severus following them inside.
“Do I need to undress?” Harry asked.
Dribble frowned. “Why would you assume-? Ah you were raised by muggles. No it is a simple scan which I will perform with my wand and there is need to take off your clothes.”
The doctor concentrated and swished his wand over Harry's body and again and again. Then he looked up sharing a serious look with Severus.
“I am afraid the test results were right.”
Severus looked as if he had been kicked into his guts but nodded turning to Harry. The boy stared at his lover with trepidation but what was said floored him.
“You are pregnant Harry.”
For a second Harry was baffled not wanting to believe his ears. In their fourth year during sex education classes they had covered that it was rare for men to get pregnant but possible.
While the thought scared the shit out of him, he could not understand both Severus' and Dribble's serious expression.
“Well, that is... unexpected but it is not the end of the world, right?” He tried to laugh but his counterparts shared another look that alarmed him. “Severus, what is wrong?”
His lover sighed turning to the mediwizard. “Would you leave us alone for a moment?”
The wizard nodded and discretely closed the door after himself leaving Harry and Severus alone.
“What do you know about male pregnancy?”
Harry had sunken down on a chair, feeling better when his lover sat down next to him.
“Eh, they are rare. That's all.”
“It is indeed very rare for two wizards to conceive a child but it is also tremendously draining for the wizard who is carrying the baby. And in your state of health it is life threatening. Nobody can tell if you are surviving your pregnancy, not even speculating on the actual birth process.”
Harry was silent for a moment. “So what do you want me to do?”
Taking the younger wizards hand Severus pulled him onto his lap.
“You are carrying the baby, so I cannot make the decision for you but if I had to chose between our baby's and your life, I would chose you. If you want to hear my opinion- terminate the pregnancy.”
For a while Harry stared at his stomach, where a life was growing inside him.
“I always wanted a family, parents, brothers and sisters and when I decided to share my life with you I assumed there was no chance for me to have children of my own.” He looked up. “I do not have to make this decision here and now?”
His lover shook his head gently cupping his cheek.
“Of course not but the longer you wait, the higher the risk is for you.”
Harry nodded and pressed his face into Severus' shirt that still smelt like the sea. His thoughts were racing and on a rational level he knew he was pregnant but it felt so surreal.
He was grateful that Severus was not pushing him into making this decision, because his heart was crying out at the thought of ending this life inside him.
“Can we go home?” He hated how small he sounded.
For a moment Severus pulled him closer, his lips brushing over Harry's cheek but then he carefully placed his lover on the ground and getting up he pointed to the door.
“In your condition we better take the floo.”
At home Harry had curled up on the couch, his head resting on his lover's lap and once again Severus touched him in a circular motion, rubbing his back.
He felt so ill prepared to make such a decision, he was barely nineteen and so far he had never really considered how he wanted to live his life. He'd always thought he had so much time, the thought of him getting pregnant never on his mind.
He understood Severus' decision but the more he considered the question, the more he realized he could not do it. If he was blessed with a child, how could he throw it away?
Sighing he stared at his love whose eyes rested on him, once again so unreadable.
“I cannot do it,” he whispered hoping that Severus would understand.
His lover closed his eyes for a moment but then nodded, apparently having expected this decision. But there was something in his eyes, something Harry had seen before. But when?
After he had been hit with the dark curse by Voldemort, the fear of losing him. He reached up and caressed his cheek.
“Maybe everything will turn out fine.”
Severus nodded. “Maybe.”
Do not get too excited with Harry's pregnancy... I am being really mean here to our two favourite wizards but it will all end well. After the drama and the angst of course. Tell me what you think!

Madamdragon: It is complicated with Harry's pregnancy but you will have to wait and see. BTW, I just finished the last chapter so depending on how enthusiastic you all are, you get to see the dramatic ending. Just kidding here, you get the chapters whenever I have the time.
