An Epilogue
…Three month later…
Kirsty stood at a desk in the empty potions classroom, glaring tiredly at a steaming caldron in front of her.
“May I just ask, are you ever going to stir that sorry attempt at a potion that is in your caldron?” asked Snape with a bored, sarcastic voice, his head emerging from the store cupboard.
“Stir it yourself”, snapped Kirsty, rolling her eyes and jumped immediately, hissing with a sharp intake of breath as Snape had flicked his wand easily and send a hex across her bottom.
“It is not me who is trying to finally master their N.E.W.T.’s.”
“Funny,” Kirsty growled looking at Snape darkly, “it isn’t me either.”
He stopped and looked at her somewhat intrigued. Then he walked over to her. Her eyes followed his every step. As he reached her he pushed her away from the potion and over her desk. He pushed up her skirt and smacked her bottom hard. A small noise escaped her. She closed her eyes and stroke away a tear that had escaped her. He smacked her again and again and continued for a moment. Then he paused. He heard her sobbing quietly. He softly reached for her shoulder and pulled her back up. He slowly pulled her back against him, his arms closing tightly over her chest. She kept her eyes closed and grabbed his forearms with both her hands holding them tightly as though to make sure he could not let go of her if he tried.
“Thank you,” She whispered, her eyes still squeezed shut.
“My pleasure,” he whispered back and continued holding her.
