Cryptic
‘Help me, please.’
Hermione wondered if this were a dream, a hallucination, or some kind of sick trick played by Malfoy.
Hermione received a cryptic message, unmarked requesting that she meet them in the Blood Forest. It was delivered by an owl, who promptly disappeared.
She shuddered.
The Blood Forest was an enormous forest in Germany, literally filled with trees that fed off of blood. It’s history dated back thousands of years, to a time when witches and wizards worshipped nature.
They used to bury people alive, and plant trees above them. The people predominately buried were individuals who had ‘broken the law’, whatever that meant. Because the law had drastically changed since.
It was rumored that Salazar Slytherin had actually killed and buried Godric Gryffyndor here, but most believed that to be myth.
Hermione stared at the message all day, because it was written in a special form of communication. A fake language, so to speak. Developed by her and Ginny during their fifth year. Before Hermione decided that the galleons would be much more subtle, and better.
She and Ginny were the only two people who knew this language.
What if she is alive?
What if this is a trap?
What if Malfoy is watching?
Hermione crumpled the paper and tossed it in the fire. She needed to stay calm. Draco couldn’t read her mind but he could sense her feelings.
She took a deep breath.
Go to the Blood Forest?
Stay behind?
Hermione thought this over while showering.
What if she got Ginny caught? What if Draco found her and used her as a form of control?
But what if she is hurt?
‘Mom, I’m going out….’
