Somebody I know

Now we start the last act of this little tale with just as much drama as before. I estimated this story would have 35 chapters and I was surprisingly acurate. Tell me what you think!

30. Somebody I know

Six hours later Harry sat on the couch and was nibbling on a peach Snape had given him. For the first time since waking up did he feel safe and loved- the fact that it was Snape who made him feel that way was unexpected but his life had always had the tendency to be weird and he did not mind.

Snape was in Hogsmeade delivering the potions to Malfoy and so he had time to think. Having come to several conclusions he got up and went to the fireplace throwing some floo powder inside.

“Dumbledore's office, Hogwarts.”

“Harry my boy, how are you?” Dumbledore smiled warmly as he appeared in the flames.

“Better actually- eh me and Snape had to clear some things up first.”

The old wizard nodded. “I am happy for you both, I truly am. But why are you fire calling me? What can I do for the saviour of the wizarding world?”

Harry made a face. “Please, stick to Harry. I was wondering if I could use the quiddich pitch to train a little bit. I have lost my strength in the months I have been knocked out.”

Dumbledore nodded. “Of course you can. I will make sure that you are undisturbed and if you want to Madame Hooch can give you some advice on how to strengthen your muscles.”

Hearing the door open Harry ended the call.

“Cool, I try to make it tomorrow.”

“Send my regards to Severus.”

Turning around Harry found Snape unloading a load of things on the couch table and so he walked over.

“What's that?” he asked leaning against his lover's frame and perused the pile of sweets, joke articles and some books.

“A peace offering from Draco Malfoy. He obviously wants to get rid of the grudge you have against him.”

Harry snorted. “If he is still the Malfoy I remember, than I rather keep my distance.”

Snape pulled Harry to his chest. “That might be difficult Harry. There are some things that I had no chance to tell you.”

“Like what?”

Snape walked over to the couch and sat down pulling Harry with him.

“Tell me honestly, did you ever consider to date Ginerva Weasley?”

Snuggling into the other wizard's chest Harry looked up.

“No, she is too much off a sister for me.”

“After the last battle, the Malfoy estate was frozen and is still, so Draco had no place to go. I was with you in the hospital and so the Weasleys offered to take him in.”

“Do you want to tell me that Malfoy and Ginny are....?”

“Love can happen in the strangest of places Harry,” Snape said gently. “But to come back to Draco Malfoy, he has changed at least as much as a Malfoy can change to the better. I fear that some of their arrogance will never completely be gone but he found something in the Weasley family something, he had never had.”

Harry pressed Snape's hand.

“Love.”

“Yes, sometimes in the most unlikely of places.” Snape ruffled Harry's hair. “Who were you fire calling?”

“Dumbledore,” Harry answered. “He sends his regards. I have lost so much strength in the last year that I figure I should try to regain some using the quidditch pitch.”

Snape nodded. “That sounds like a good idea. When do you plan to go?”

“Ehm, I thought about tomorrow after breakfast.”

“Would you mind if I accompanied you?” Snape asked. “I have to see what my successor did to my potion lab.”

Harry flicked his wand and two glasses with juice floated over.

“Who is by the way? Somebody I know?”

Taking the offered glass Snape took a draught. “Actually you do. Blaise Zabini is now potion teacher and head of slytherin.”

Hogwarts looked the same as when Harry had left it and even if he never did his NEWTs, the ministry had decided to treat him as if he had passed them. Not that in his condition he could work at an ordinary job but he intended to get some of his strength back.

He had separated from Snape who had promised to join him later on the quiddich pitch and currently Harry was soaring through the air, all his handicaps forgotten for a moment.

Madame Hooch had returned to her class and he was diving through the air, catching the snitch and enjoying himself very much.

Looking down he saw Snape sitting down in one of the stands accompanied by Blaise Zabini. They were obviously deep into a conversation, very likely about potions.

Blaise had not changed much with his tall built, slender form and brunette hair that he wore open. He was dressed not in a robe but black pants and a green coat that accentuated his muscular frame.

Basically he was everything Harry had ever wanted to be but thanks to Voldemort would never be. He was not delusional and had cornered Dribble when Snape had left to shower. He was aware that if he was lucky and applied himself, he would be able to walk and live a relatively autonomous life but tremors would be present all the time.

Feeling a sudden twinge of jealousy, he picked up Blaise saying something and Snape laughed, the sound drifting over to the pitch. Calling himself a fool he decided to call it quits for today and landed smoothly next to the stand.

Walking up the stairs into the stand he straightened his shoulders and tried to move gracefully- well as graceful as was possible when you had a tremor in your left leg because you overstrained yourself with your broom.

As he approached the pair Snape looked up and smiled when he saw Harry, instantly pulling him close, making him feel much better.

“Harry, you sure remember Blaise Zabini.”

Blaise shook his hand with a smile that seemed to light up his whole face.

“It is a pleasure to see you up and about Harry.”

Harry instantly hated his deep voice and the raspy sound to it but kept a smile on his face.

The tremor in his leg got worse but nothing short of death would force Harry to admit that in front of this muscular wizard.

“Well, Severus, it was a pleasure and I guess we will see each other on Sunday then.” Blaise smiled his dazzling smile. “And Harry, it was great seeing you again.”

With that he smoothly turned around and left the stand to walk back into the castle. Snape did not seem to pick up on Harry's mood as he hugged him for a moment.

“You did wonderful on your broom,” he murmured into his ear. “I always enjoyed watching you fly, you are naturally gifted. How do you feel?”

Harry ignored the way his left leg shot bolts of pain into his torso instead he shrugged casually.

“I am fine.”

“Then if you are done here we could return home. I intend to cook you whatever you want to and then we will see what else we can find to entertain us.”

Harry nodded and made a step into the direction of the stairs when his leg began to throb with pain causing him to almost tumble to the ground. Snape however reacted swiftly and kept him upright, carefully pushing him on one of the benches.

“You should have told me about your leg,” he gently admonished as he expertly began to massage Harry's calf.

Harry nodded hating the fact that he could not even manage a walk home on his own.

When the pain lessened and the tremor receded Snape pulled him into his arms.

“You are a stubborn wizard Mr Potter,” he said with affection. “Dribble warned you not to overstrain yourself.”

Harry sighed and closed his eyes. “I know I have to be patient,” he muttered into Snape's cloak. “But I hate it.”

Gently cupping Harry's cheek Snape stared into his eyes.

“I am aware of that but give it some time and you will be back to your old glory on your broom.”

Extricating himself from Snape's arms Harry got up when his stomach rumbled. “I am kinda hungry,” he admitted with a crooked smile.

“Then let's go home and have supper.”
