Epilogue
The funeral that they had for Remus was simple. Whispers went about from friend to friend, regrets over never seeing what was right before their eyes. Harry was one of the hardest hit as he saw the man as yet another one of his father figures being taken from him. Hermione stood by him holding one hand and Draco the other. Both were trying as they might to comfort him. When the service was over, Harry and Draco finally asked what made her think it might be Remus that Greyback was impersonating.
“He was the only person that made sense,” she answered quietly, rubbing Harry’s shoulder. “I found blonde hairs on Violet after the attack on her. Then there was the fact that he would have to impersonate an individual that wouldn’t have been missed during the full moon.” She sighed heavily. “Remus, unfortunately, was the only person to fit the bill.”
Off to the side was Lucius, watching his witch. She had taken Remus’s death hard as well, though she didn’t show it in public. The funeral was for show, she told him. Her grief wasn’t.
Lucius looked over to the others there, including Ginny Weasley who was only visiting the school as it was decided that it would be best if she took her NEWTs early. She past only a few with barely acceptable marks, but they had been enough to get her out into the world. He turned his head at the sound of someone approaching him. George Weasley leaned against the tree Lucius was standing next to, taking out a flask and taking a sip.
“Been to far too many funerals,” he muttered, drinking yet more. He looked over to Lucius. “I hear that I’m related to Hermione now.”
The older wizard said nothing.
“And that you are her very protective mate,” he murmured. “Uh, there’s something you need…”
“She told me,” he interrupted George.
A blush bloomed on his face. “Well, there’s more to it than she knows.” Lucius turned and was about to pounce when he rushed in with, “I swear to Merlin nothing happened between us, but she was so adamant that I never say a blessed word about it after that night that I’ve never had a chance to tell her!”
“What did happen?” Lucius asked, leaning closer.
“We were both pissed out of our minds,” George told him. “I was missing Fred…I still do miss him, but that night…” Tears filled his eyes. “It was bad. And Hermione was in a bad way as well. I’ve never seen her so upset before. She told me what happened with Fenrir Greyback, about the rape and how Ron thought she enjoyed it. All she wanted was some comfort just the same as me. But I swear we both were out cold before a single thing happened.” He frowned. “And now that I know we’re cousins, I’m doubly glad of that fact.”
“But surely you could have said something before now?” Lucius drawled.
“If someone with her temperament and brains threatened to hang you by your balls if you did so, would you speak about it at all?”
“Excellent point,” Lucius murmured.
“Lucius,” Hermione said as she joined them. “Hello, George.”
“Hermione,” he replied. “Please excuse me, but I want to go visit my brother.”
They watched as he walked off. Slipping into his arms, Hermione murmured, “Ron is absolutely convinced that we aren’t related and that I’m doing this whole mate, marriage, you thing just to spite him.”
Just then there was a scream among the mourners. A red rat went running away through the legs of the screaming people. Harry came over to her, laughing heartily.
“That was funny! How did you change Ron into a rodent?”
Blinking at him in shock, Hermione replied, “Don’t look at me. I didn’t do it.”
He looked over to Lucius who also denied any part of changing Ron over to a rat.
Severus walked over, nodding to all of them in greeting.
“Up to your old games again, my friend?” Lucius asked him.
“I swear that Weasley brings out the worse in me,” Severus muttered. “And his sister is little better. She’s lucky her mother pulled her away in mid-rant. I came so close to changing her into anything else just as long as it was a mute.”
Harry’s eyes went wide. “You mean you can change…?” He gasped. “You were the one to change Ron into that skunk!”
“Perhaps I did, but in my defense he was acting like an ass and he should be counting his blessings that I didn’t change him into that!”
“Oh,” Hermione breathed. “That explains so much.”
“What do you mean?” Lucius inquired.
“He controlled what his animagus was,” she replied, seeing the confirmation of her correct theory by the look in the headmaster’s eyes. “I imagine only someone with his abilities could do that.”
Snape said nothing as he walked away.
“He’s still mourning Lilly,” Hermione whispered, slipping her hand into Lucius’s.
“He always will I imagine,” he replied. “Shall we be off, lady wife?”
Smiling she murmured, “Anytime you’re ready.”
“Where are you two going to?” Harry asked, as Draco joined him.
They looked to each other and back to them, Hermione answering with a broad grin. “We’re joining the Chunnel club!”

And that's all I wrote! Thanks for reading my story. I loved that I was able to entice some of you into reviewing with my review sing-a-long. Making up that game was a blast and chances are that I will have it again.
Just a short note on the "Chunnel club". I don't know if one exists or not, but I figured that if there is a Mile High club that there had to be a group of people more than willing to get their groove thing on in that high speed train as well. Thanks again for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
