When Snape entered the Great Hall for dinner, he noticed Hermione wasn’t sitting at the Gryffindor table. He wondered where she could have been, since they had their meeting scheduled for this evening. ‘Oh well, not to worry, she’ll probably show up soon together with Potter and that Weasley boy.’ He told himself.
A few minutes later Potter and Weasley entered the Great Hall, but without the Granger girl. Snape decided to have a nice dinner and question her about it later.
As the evening approached I was getting very nervous. In two hours I would meet Snape to discuss my final assignment for this year. I decided not to make an appearance at dinner. I needed a long, hot bath and a quiet dinner in my room. One of the advantages of being the head girl of Gryffindor was that I could use the kitchen service. It was against my principles to use the service of a house elf but it looked like there was no other option.
I was getting dressed when I heard a knock on the door. It was Dobby, who brought me my dinner. “Miss Hermione looks most wonderful” he said with a smile while putting my dinner on the table. “Miss Hermione feels good?”
“Yes Dobby, thank you very much.” I gave him a smile back. “I’ll send the dirty dishes to the kitchen when I’m finished. You don’t have to run back just for that.”
“Miss Hermione has always been good for Dobby. Thank you Miss. Have a nice evening.” With one snap of his fingers, the little house elf left.
Dinner looked and smelled lovely. My clock told me I had about 45 minutes before my meeting with Professor Snape. ‘Perfect’ I thought and tried to eat something.
It was almost seven when I stood in front of Snape’s office. When I knocked on his door a cold voice answered “Yes, come in.”
“Good evening Professor Snape, I hope I’m not too late” I tried to make a little conversation. Snape was sitting at his desk observing me. A few seconds later he gave me a quick answer and suggested that I take a seat.
In all these years as a teacher Snape hadn’t experienced something like this. When Hermione had entered his office he just couldn’t resist taking a good look at her. She didn’t wear her normal school clothes. She wore a white blouse with sleeves to her elbows and a long black skirt. He noticed the smell of different flowers, perfume and her hair wasn’t as bushy as normal. ‘Stop thinking like that, she’s a student’ he said to himself. The way she had asked him if she was late was so nice and tender. He decided to stay himself and not turn into a romantic, indulgent, tender man. Or was it too late already?
I couldn’t help it but I was feeling tense. Here I was sitting in the office of man that had hated me for almost six years. I was forced to work close with him for the next school year if I wanted to pass at all. The fact that I started to look at him in a different way, didn’t do me any good.
Snape was ready to make a first move. He remembered the way she’d responded to his action that morning in class. ‘A little mind game wouldn’t hurt’ his mind took the evil trip again. “Well Miss Granger” he stood up from behind his desk, walked to the front of it and leaned against it. “You are probably wondering why we decided to give you your final assignment in Advanced Potions. Do you have any idea?” He raised his eyebrow to her.
I started daydreaming when I saw him leaning against his desk. He looked so handsome. His black hair hung on his shoulders, his dark eyes looked evil but tempting, not to mention that icy voice that made me shiver. I couldn’t help letting out a little laugh.
“Miss Granger? Have you paid any attention to what I’ve been saying?” Snape was pleased by the fact he had interrupted her daydreaming. He wondered what was going on in that beautiful head. “Miss Granger? Pray tell me what do you find so amusing?”
I was stronger then. Since our meeting in front of my room I had strange feelings about him. Normally I didn’t pay attention to him except in class. The last day I caught myself sneakily glancing towards the Head Table during all meals. Besides that I tried to look more mature, more feminine. This couldn’t be happening. I was determined to not let him get to me. He was my professor and tutor, nothing more, nothing less. But why couldn’t I stop looking at him? “Nothing Professor, nothing at all, sorry. Please, go on.” I’ve must been far away because I hadn’t noticed him asking me a question. Suddenly, I realized I had to answer him.
“Let’s get straight to business then. Since you have always had perfect grades in my class and no potion has been too difficult for you I suggest something difficult for your assignment.” He enjoyed the fact that when he suggested a difficult assignment she had raised her eyebrow the same way he sometimes did. “Professor Dumbledore asked me to brew a potion for Professor Lupin, not the regular one. This one would prevent him from becoming a werewolf.”
The fact Snape said I had perfect grades made me feel super. I was having those evil thoughts again, after his little game during the lesson that morning. ‘So Professor Snape likes games…’ I thought and I felt the horns grow on my head. “What do you have in mind for tonight?” I knew this question sounded ambiguous but the little devil in me told me not to care.
‘If only she knew what I have in mind for the rest of the year’ Snape thoughts became more evil. “Tonight we will start with a potion that accents the human emotions. When Professor Lupin doesn’t want to turn into a beast he needs to have strong human emotions. Follow me to the lab Miss Granger.”
Snape ordered her to get the ingredients for the potion while he went to the library to get the required books.
When Snape left for the library I knew this would be the perfect moment to take action. The fact that temperature in the lab was very hot was only helping me in my plan.
I turned up the heat underneath the cauldron and started to put some of the ingredients in. At this moment I started to feel warm and decided to undo some of the buttons of my blouse. The naughty person in me was rising and I enjoyed it.
Snape almost ran to the library and back. He knew she was up to something. The way she had been daydreaming and the fact she had an evil grin on her face predicted an amusing night. When he came back he discovered his prediction was right. There she was, standing in front of a cauldron looking very inviting.
“Well Miss Granger, you’ve started already. Let me see what you’ve been up to.” He walked towards her and took a place in front of her with only the cauldron and the table separating them.
I decided to make another move. Snape wanted to play a little game and I wanted to show him I was certainly a match for him. When he stood there in front of the table looking into the cauldron, I bent over a bit so he could take a closer look. “As you can see Professor, I have already added the roots and the extract of the rose.” I noticed him getting a bit uncomfortable trying to keep his eyes on the cauldron. “What are the other ingredients you need?”
Snape told me to get a wing of a bat, two bottles of newt extract and 5 lemon leaves. I went to the supplies closet knowing he was watching me. I opened the closet and as I stood in front of it I tossed my hair backwards.
Snape couldn’t believe what she was doing. She had opened her blouse, probably because of the heat in the lab, but then she’d bent over so he saw more then he had asked for. He felt the heat welling up in his body. If she had done anything more that moment he was afraid that he would lose control. No woman had ever acted like that around him. That’s why he ordered her to get more ingredients. Just when he thought everything was cool again, she made the fatal move by tossing her hair. This was too much for him. What the hell was she up to? That body and hair covered in sweat, it was a lovely sight. He could smell her perfume. It was that mix of flowers again. O boy, the girl looked attractive.
I was aware of the fact that I was challenging Snape. It was very clear because every move I made was making him more uncomfortable. I took my time to search for the ingredients so he could take a good look at me. After a few minutes I decided it was enough for today. Although I felt a desire for him, I didn’t want to give in. ‘No, not today’ I thought. I closed the closet and went back to the desk where I was surprised to find a very nervous Professor Snape.
Snape was at the point that he didn’t know what to do anymore. Sure, he had started something in class, to see if she was still the silly little girl he knew for 6 years. He didn’t know she would act like this. He decided to end it straight away. “Look at the time. I guess you should be going, Miss Granger. We can continue our work tomorrow after dinner.” He tried to sound as casual as he could.
This was a legendary moment. I Hermione Granger had defeated Severus Snape in his own little game. I asked him for a towel because I was sweaty and if I walked into the cold halls like this I would sure catch a cold. When I explained that to him, he was very understanding and pointed me the way to his bathroom. I found some nice clean black towels. After I splashed some cold water in my face I started to dry and clean myself up. Again I felt the little horns growing on my head. So I decided to open the door a bit.
Snape was standing in his bedroom waiting for her to come out so he could escort her back to her room. He heard the door open and saw her making some sensual moves while she was drying herself. He felt the reaction of his body on that view. When Hermione came out he was blushing.
I felt amused by the fact I had never seen Snape acting shy or blush. The fact that I had challenged him this evening did him no good. “Well, thanks for the towel Professor” I tried not to laugh. “I guess I should be going then.”
Snape didn’t want to take the risk of losing control so he decided to send her back to her room by floo powder. The both of them stood in front of the fireplace in his office. Hermione wished him a good evening and took a hand full of the powder. Before she said where she wanted to go to, she smiled at him. Snape was enchanted by the smile when he heard her say “Hermione Granger’s room” and *poof* she was gone. He took a glass of whisky and sat in his chair thinking about the events of the evening. ‘So the Granger girl was up for a little game’ he thought as he took a drink of his glass.
An evil smile came to his face. He finished his drink and before he entered his bathroom he said with a tempting voice: “Well Miss Granger, let the games begin.”
