Over Protective Mates

The street lights flickered out as dawn approached, the street was silent with no one around. A cold wind blew by and three people appeared in the middle of the street, one being carried towards a small cottage while the other one, with dog ears and tail, opened the gate and front door.

Then the street was silent again, but this time it began to rain as if nature itself was protecting the three new mates.

“Come on Harry, stay awake for a bit longer,” Remus said as they walked up the stairs “We’ve got to show you your room.”

“My room?” Harry asked with a sleepy blink of his eyes.

“I helped to decorate it foxy,” Sirius said with a smile that showed off his dog fangs “We had a feeling that our mate might enjoy the garden and outdoors so we used a similar spell to that of the spell on the Great Hall of Hogwarts ceiling but to a smaller scale. The ceiling will reflect what the sky’s like outside. The walls are painted to show the changing seasons and you have a BIG bed and and…”

Harry watched in sleepy amusement as Sirius rambled on and on about his new room. As Harry looked around from the safety of Remus’ arms he noticed that not only did it have what Sirius said but there was a Japanese style to the room, just perfect for his human side and his demon side.

Remus looked down at his mate and smiled softly “Come on, let’s get you changed and fed so we can have a talk and go to sleep.”

Harry pouted, he felt so safe in Remus’ arms he didn’t want to move.

“Come on foxy,” Sirius said with a chuckle as he took Harry out of Remus’ arms and carried him over to the bed. “I’ll help you get changed while Remus gets the food, unless you don’t want a kitchen anymore?”

“I think that’s my cue Harry,” Remus said with a small smile as he left the room. “Call me if you need anything.”

When Remus had gone down stairs, Sirius placed Harry on the giant bed which had a wolf and dog pattern. Sirius then pranced over to a wardrobe while Harry curled up, his tail going over his head cutely as he watched carefully while Sirius looked around in the wardrobe. Eventually he pulled out a large red t-shirt that would come down to Harry’s ankles.

“Here you go foxy,” Sirius said with a grin. “Want me to help you get change or wait outside?”

Harry’s eyes went wide when at the mention of getting changed with Sirius watching, he didn’t want the man…no dog demon to see his scars.

Seeing Harry’s look, Sirius smiled “I’ll just go and check on how Remus is doing okay? Give a yell if you need anything.”

***Downstairs with Remus in the kitchen***

“How is he?” Remus asked as he got a plate out for the food.

Sirius sat down on a chair and placed his head on the table. “He’s scared Remmy, won’t even get changed in the same room with someone even if they have their back to him. He’s so scared… I wish I could have done more to those damn Dursley’s.”

Remus sighed as he placed the finished sandwiches on the plate. “Don’t worry about it Siri, we’ll help him, after all he is our mate and we won’t let anyone hurt him. We’ll prove to him that he’s worth a lot more than he thinks.”

Sirius took the plate from Remus and they started up the stairs, once outside Harry’s room, Sirius turned to Remus and kissed him on the cheek. “Thanks Remmy, don’t know what I’d do without you.”

***Back with Harry***

Harry had just placed his clothes on the bed and put the over sized t-shirt on, Harry was sure he did not look cute in it, when he heard a knock at the door.

“You can come in,” Harry said as he tried to walk back to the bed only to find his new kitsune’s tail tripping him up.

“Lookie!” Sirius cried out as he placed the sandwiches on the bed “Doesn’t our little foxy look cute!”

Harry blushed and tried to hide under the bed covers, he was starting to feel sleepy again, only to have an amused Remus pull back the covers.

“Eat foxy,” Remus said with a grin as he used Sirius’ nickname and pushed the sandwiches towards Harry. “Eat them, it will help.”

Harry carefully looked at the sandwiches and then at Remus and Sirius. Seeing that they weren’t going to do anything or had done anything to the food, Harry tucked in.

It was a few minutes later when a very full Harry who had eaten a quarter of what was on his plate and was slightly more awake looked to the werewolf and dog demon for answers.

Remus took the plate of sandwiches and placed them on the bedside table while Sirius tucked Harry into the bed, then Remus and Sirius sat on top of the sheets.

“Harry, we know you hate being kept in the dark so where just going to come out and say it.” Sirius said, looking a shocked Harry in the eyes.

“Does it have anything to do with why I feel so safe and happy with you two?” Harry asked as he blushed, getting a chuckle from the other two males in the room.

“It does Harry,” Sirius said as he slowly began to stroke Harry’s kitsune ears, making sure Harry knew what he was doing. “Firstly we punished the Dursley’s but I was grown up and smart!”

Harry and Remus laughed as Sirius puffed his chest out proudly.

“We left before we could do any…permanent damage to them through there is the case of those whale eating creatures I left behind,” Sirius said as he pouted, wishing he could do something more.

“Right, lets gets back on track,” Remus said before they could forget what they was originally going to talk about “Harry, the three of us are mates, me and Sirius are your dom’s.”

Remus and Sirius watched as Harry stared straight ahead at the wall, not moving or saying anything. Everything that could go wrong went through Remus’ and Sirius’ heads.

Remus finally broke the silence. “Want us to stay with you tonight? Just in case?”

“No,” Harry said as he stared straight ahead. “If it’s alright with you two, I’d like some time to think?”

“It’s alright Harry,” Remus said as he and Sirius got up off of the bed “We’ll be right next door, on the right, if you need us.”

Remus then dragged Sirius out of the room, leaving Harry to think but he only ended up falling asleep. His kitsune inheritance had taken a lot of energy out of him.

***With Harry a few hours later***

Harry tossed and turned before opening his eyes and glaring at the time, the clock showed it was only 9am in the morning and he had been up very late last night.

With a sigh, Harry tried to get back to sleep, he was extremely tired but he found that no matter what he couldn’t fall asleep.

“That’s it,” Harry muttered to himself with a sleepy glare at himself.

Harry quietly walked out of his room and followed the directions that Remus had given to him. When he entered Remus’ and Sirius’ bedroom he met an adorable sight.

Remus and Sirius was snuggled up together, fast asleep with their arms wrapped around each other though there was a whole in the middle, as if there was something missing.

With a sigh, Harry allowed his kitsune’s instincts to win and he climbed into the middle of the bed. Sighing in relief as Remus’ and Sirius’ arms tightened around him, he let his eyes close.

That night was one of the best night’s sleep that Remus, Sirius and Harry had had in a long time.
