Sweet Child Of Mine

A/N: Sorry it’s been a while. I’ve had finals, had to pack and then unpack, and I’ve started work again. Since I don’t really have a set schedule, updates might be a while. But here’s the next chapter, so enjoy! And thanks to all the reviews! Some of you are pointing out how fast this story is moving along. I know, I’m sorry. I wrote this out a while ago and I didn’t want to re-write it because I was afraid I’d repeat some of the ideas I already put into the story. But this is the last chapter I’ve already written, so hopefully the chapters will be longer after this. Also, some of you want this to be a vela/creature mate fiction, some of you don’t. At this point, I don’t see them as being mates. But anything can happen! Anyway, like I said before, enjoy the chapter.

Keep On Loving You

Chapter 3: Sweet Child Of Mine

Harry woke up early, due to usually having to cook breakfast for his family. When he realized he was free of them, he could have wept. The fact that Harry had run away hadn’t really sunk in until this morning when he had woken up. Yesterday had seemed so surreal and he was sure he had dreamed it all. It wouldn’t have surprised him much, as he’d had many similar dreams. Harry quickly went into the bathroom to relieve himself and get cleaned up. He was sure he looked horrible, traveling so much yesterday, plus being all beaten and bruised looking. When Harry looked into the mirror he gasped in shock and surprise. His cuts and bruises were gone. Miraculously healed. His wrist was still broken, but other than that it was like he had never been beaten the other day. Before Harry could examine himself more, there was knocking on his door. Harry looked through the peephole to make sure it wasn’t the police to take him back to the Dursley’s, or worse, the Dursley’s themselves.

When he saw it was Tom, he let him in. Tom was carrying a tray full of food and various colored bottles. Harry looked at the food in wonder. The only time he had seen this much food was when he was cooking it for the Dursley’s. he never got to actually eat any of it. His aunt always handed him a piece of bread and cheese with milk and told him to go eat it in his cupboard.

Tom set the food down in front of Harry and told him to eat some. Once Harry had his fill. Tom handed him a bottle of skele-grow and told him to drink some, but warned Harry of the horrible taste.

After Harry had taken a gulp, he thought he might pass out from the taste. But before he could, he felt his bones healing themselves and gasped.

“What is this? What’s happening? This is magic! But my Uncle said magic wasn’t real!” Harry fired question after question at Tom.

Tom, amused by Harry’s questions, replied that magic was real, and that Harry could do magic. He had just given him some potion to heal his wrist and had some more to help with his small size and then one more to give Harry better eye sight.

Taking off his glasses, Harry looked suspiciously at Tom. “Why are you doing this? How much do I owe you for all this? Is this a cruel joke set up by the Dursley’s? Are you going to send me back to them after being this nice to me?”

Tom quickly calmed Harry’s fears and told him this was no joke. “You don’t owe me anything. In fact, it is the wizarding world that owes you. The only thing you have to do now is go with the family I sold- I mean found for you to go live with. They are a very nice, rich, well-respected family. They have a son that’s your age for you to play with as well. Mr. Malfoy, the man you are to live with, will be here shortly to pick you up.

Harry thought about this. A family. ‘A family that wants me.’ A rich family; not that he really cared about that. He was used to not having anything. They had a child his own age, someone to play with. He’d never had any friends before. Dudley always made sure of that by beating up anyone who approached him. Yes, anyone was better than the Dursley’s. He’s go live with these people, the Malfoy’s.

---------------------------------------

At exactly 7:00 AM, Lucius Malfoy apparated outside of the Leaky Cauldron. He took a deep breath and hoped that this really was Harry Potter. He had waited nine years to finally find him. More like fate that he had finally walked into Tom’s bar and Tom had come to him first to sell the boy. Lucius would’ve hated to kill Harry’s new family, but would’ve done it to get what he wanted. And he wanted Harry. Luckily, it hadn’t come to that. Lucius stepped into the Leaky cauldron and walked up the stairs. He walked until he saw the door that was partially opened and he heard a small voice that told Tom that yes, he would go with the Malfoy’s. As he said this, Lucius stepped thought the doorway.

“Very good, Mr. Potter.”

----------------------------------------

“Very good, Mr. Potter.”

Harry almost jumped out of his skin as he heard a voice behind him. He spun around after he got his heart rate down and looked up at the tall blonde man behind him. Harry’s first thought upon meeting him was that he was some sort of angel that was sent here to take him away. And he was half right. This man was here to take him away, but Lucius Malfoy was no angel.

As Harry stared up at Lucius, he quickly did some spells on the boy to make sure he was indeed Harry Potter. After he was satisfied, he stepped closer to Harry and reached out to shake his hand. After all, Malfoy’s did not show affection in public.

“I am Lucius Malfoy, Tom has explained to me that you need somewhere to live, and Tom believed that I would be able to help you.”

Harry was still awestruck by Lucius Malfoy, but managed to squeak out a manageable introduction. “I’m Harry Potter, sir.” Harry remembered to add sir at the end, not because after years of being beaten by his uncle for forgetting to say it, but because Lucius Malfoy had a commanding presence about him-unlike Vernon Dursley.

Lucius was amused at Harry, yet very impressed. His son never showed respect like this. It had taken Lucious many years to get Draco to behave like a Malfoy, and here this boy was showing proper manners. Lucious quirked up the ends of his mouth for a brief second to show his approval.

“Well, let us get going now. I’m sure Narcissa and Draco will be very anxious to meet you. And there is much to be done when we get to the manor.” Lucious nodded to Tom and steered Harry out of his room and to the fireplace. “Harry, I assume you have never used the floo before, so I will go with you.” He took out a pouch and grabbed a handful, of what looked like colored sand to Harry and threw it into the fire. The fire whooshed up and turned green. Lucius looked at Harry, who was studying the flames, and pushed him into the fire gently. Harry, unprepared for this, gave a terrified squeak and before he could say anything, or notice that he wasn’t being burned, Lucius was in the fire next to him shouting “Malfoy Manor, study.”

Suddenly, Harry was spinning, and just as he felt like he would be sick, the spinning stopped and Harry very nearly fell out of the fireplace, if not for the hand holding him up.

Lucius stepped out and sweeped his arm out to show off the room. “Welcome to Malfoy Manor, Mr. Potter. And welcome to the family.”

A/N: Ok, so that was chapter three and about 2/3 of the way through this chapter I realized I hadn’t finished writing it out yet. So… the writing style may be slightly different since I started writing this about a year ago. Next chapter, Draco and Narcissa are introduced! And maybe Severus. Since I love Severus, I don’t think I’m going to make him hate Harry on sight. Or maybe I will and they’ll learn to get along… Yeah. I’m not sure which direction this story is going in. Haha. Oh well. It’ll be a surprise to me as well.
