Dinner and Dieting

“There!” Hermione stood back, smiling, as she admired her own handiwork. The dormitory was empty and Hermione had seized the opportunity to start Harry’s lessons, starting with clothes, hair and makeup. Harry smiled at himself once he had been dressed, thinking he looked quite good; though something was wrong… his glasses. He hadn’t really thought about them when he was male, but now that he was female they looked ridiculous.
“Hermione, do you have any glasses I could wear?” She frowned and started rummaging in her trunk. She pulled out a pair of cute, little green glasses and Harry squealed.
“I’m supposed to wear them to read but I don’t really like to, you can borrow them.” Harry pranced over and pulled them out of her hand.
“They’re gorgeous!” He put them on and was shocked by how much of a difference they made. He swished his hair and pouted a little, Hermione had done all his buttons up and Harry proceeded to undo the first three.
“Harry! You can’t walk around like that; people will think you’re a… well not a very good girl.” Hermione’s cheeks were red, her feminist side clearly protesting.
“Lighten up Hermione! I know the difference between a slut and an attractive girl.” Harry beamed at himself in the mirror. Hermione looked furious, and she slammed her wardrobe door shut, hiding the mirror.
“It’s not just about boys believe it or not Harry, if you want to last five seconds you’ll have to learn to get along with girls as well.” He sighed, and without the mirror to distract him, turned to Hermione with a bored expression as she explained the intricacies of girl social structure.

Hermione was still hissing in his ear as they walked down the staircase to dinner, stopping only when there were people in the Entrance Hall who would overhear them. Harry was having fun smiling sweetly as girls and batting his eyelashes at boys. It wasn’t long before their story was tested as Parvati and Lavender, unable to contain their curiosity walked over to them.
“Hello Hermione, who’s your new friend?” Parvati was obviously put out by the new attractive girl.
“Oh, this is my cousin Harriet. She’s from a boarding school over in America.” Harry blinked at this new revelation.
“Wow, I’ve always wanted to go to America, what state were you in?” Lavender was subtly looking Harry up and down, obviously trying to gauge who was thinner and who had larger breasts.
“California.” It was the first state that came into his head.
“That must be really cool! You must come and tell us all about it.” Harry had a momentary pang of guilt as he left Hermione standing there, but something inside his new body quashed it.

He sat with the two girls at the Gryffindor table, ignoring Hermione sitting with Ron at the other end. When the food arrived the two girls seemed to have a competition as to who could eat the smallest amount, Harry was hungry and began helping himself to his normal amount of food. He could sense them watching him critically.
“You’re not actually going to eat all that, are you?” Parvati’s eyes were wide with disbelief as she toyed with the tiny salad on her plate. Harry was lost for words, as he tried to remember anything Hermione had said about eating, but Hermione always seemed to eat whatever she wanted.
“It’s…er…a new diet I’m trying.” This satisfied the two girls who began gossiping again. Put off his food, Harry started staring at the faces around the Great Hall, seeing if they looked different from a girl’s perspective. His eyes were travelling up the Slytherin table when a jolt hit him low in his stomach. He had unintentionally looked for Malfoy and his friends, and when his eyes fell on his blonde rival an odd sensation had rippled through his stomach.
“Oh my god…” He whispered under his breath. The two girls instantly stopped talking and followed his gaze. When they saw who his eyes had fallen on, they gave each other a knowing look.
“Draco Malfoy, bit of a prick, but apparently good in bed.” Lavender summed up casually.
“We could, you know, set up a meeting for you two.” Parvati added, her eyes hungrily following the possible gossip.
“Oh…erm… no thanks, I just thought he was someone else.” Harry looked away with great effort and began playing with his food again. When he glanced back up, his eyes met cold, blue ones and, blushing, Harry excused himself from the table. He made it to the safety of the entrance hall and tried to mentally shake himself, he hated Malfoy, hated him more than almost anyone else in the world.
