Chapter 3: Jealousy is Nasty

Chapter 3: Jealousy is Nasty

Chiara walked down to the Slytherin common room in the afternoon. She had been up in her room studying but got sick of it quickly. She looked around the common room to see if she could see any of her friends around but she didn’t see them anywhere. She looked over to a couch and saw her brother sitting down with his group of friends. He looked up from his group and waved at her. Chiara waved back and began to walk out of the common room when she felt someone’s hand grab her shoulder.

“Chiara?” A boy with wavy blond hair, bright blue eyes and a chiseled body had his hand resting on her shoulder. Chiara turned around, she had known him to be Sean a very popular 7th year who everyone loved. She wondered what he was stopping her for.

“Yes?” Chiara smiled nicely.

“Could I have a word with you? Somewhere else?” Sean opened the common room door and led her out. He walked around for a little while till they got to a quiet little place outside of the castle.

Draco had come down from his bed room to see Chiara talking to another boy. Rage started to bubble with in his gut. He wondered what he was doing with her but what ever it was he didn’t like it. He watched as they walked out of the common room. Draco walked after them curious as to where they were going and what they were going to do.

“Chiara I was just wondering if you would like to go out with me sometime?” Sean asked looking slightly shy. Chiara smiled at him and couldn’t believe she was being asked out by a 7th year.

“Yeah sure.” Chiara nodded excitedly.

“Great. I’ll take you out to Hogsmede this weekend.” Sean grinned widely.

“Alright.” Chiara felt her heart pound with excitement. She was actually going to go out on a date and it wasn’t with a scum bag either.

“Well I’ll catch up with you later.” Sean pulled Chiara in to a hug. “Bye.” Sean walked off.

“See ya.” Chiara smiled and let out a loveable sigh.

Draco stood behind a pillar his face red with extreme anger. He couldn’t believe what he had seen. No one was going to go out with Chiara Chalmers but himself. He had to stop Sean and Chiara from going out and the sooner the better. Draco stormed off in anger planning a way to stop the two from dating.

Chiara sat in the library reading a book that she thought might be interesting. She hadn’t seen Draco all day and usually he’d be following her around everywhere. She wondered if something had happened to him or if something was wrong. She looked up from her book and saw Draco standing at the doors of the library. She raised her hand to wave at him but he ignored her and walked off. Chiara wondered what was going on, she put her book down and walked after him.

“Draco?” Chiara called.

“Go away.” Draco spat. Chiara felt her stomach churn, what had she done to possibly piss off Draco?

“No I’m not going anywhere till you tell me what’s going on.” Chiara crossed her arms and stood grounded in front of Draco. Draco glared at her angrily for a while.

“There is nothing wrong now go away.” Draco turned around and walked off. ‘Who would choose Sean over Draco Malfoy? No one!’

“Draco you’re a horrible liar!” Chiara shouted after him as she followed him. She thought of what could possibly make him act like this towards her. She thought of all the things her brother had said to her about Draco having a crush on her and about Sean asking her out and then she knew what was wrong. “Is it about Sean?” Draco stopped walking immediately almost making Chiara walk in to him.

“NO!” Draco snapped as angrily as he could sound. “Go away Chiara I don’t want to speak to you.”

“Fine Malfoy do what you like!” Chiara turned around and walked back over to where she was reading before.

Draco walked in to they Slytherin common room looking for Sean. He had to stop Sean and Chiara from going out and he knew how to. He found Sean walking around the common room. Draco quickly walked up to him and pushed him in to a quiet, never used cloak room.

“What are you doing?” Sean grumbled. Draco pushed Sean up against the wall of the small room.

“You better stay away from Chiara! She’s mine do you understand?” Draco spat.

“If she was yours Malfoy I don’t think she would have agreed to go out with me.” Sean replied with a smart assed Tone. Draco as quick as ever took his wand out of his robe and pointed it at Sean’s neck.

“If you don’t understand would you like me to make you understand?” Draco smirked pushing the end of his wand in to Sean’s neck even harder. “You know what I can do.” Draco whispered in to Sean’s ear. Draco then let Sean go and quickly flicked his wand. All of a sudden feelers began to sprout out of the top of Sean’s head. Draco laughed at him and left the cloak room.

Chiara stormed in to the common room angrily. She had just been told by Sean in the infirmary that he didn’t want to go out with her anymore. Chiara knew it had something to do with Draco. Chiara walked up to the boys dorms and pushed the door open.

“HOW DARE YOU!” Chiara shouted. “HOW DARE YOU TURN SEAN OFF OF ME!” Chiara jumped over to Draco and grabbed the collar of his shirt. Draco grabbed Chiara’s arms and pushed her down on to the bed.

“I did nothing to him.” Draco lied, grinning smugly.

“Don’t like to me Draco!” Chiara started to try and punch him but couldn’t move from under his grip.

“I am no lying.” Draco let Chiara free from his grip.

“Fine be like that Draco, keep lying, keep denying how you really feel towards people. You’ll just end up like Snape.” Chiara walked out of Draco’s room and slammed the door behind her. Chiara saw her brother standing at the front of Draco’s door. “What are you doing Zach?”

“Waiting for you.” Zach smiled. “I heard what happened with Draco and Sean.”

“I really really don’t care anymore. Draco is nothing to me.” Chiara walked away from her brother.

~~~~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~~~
Draco stood by his door listening to what Chiara and Zach has said to each other. “I really really don’t care anymore. Draco is nothing to me.” Draco knew she was right about what she had said just before she left. He hid everything he felt except for hate. Why couldn’t he just ask Chiara out or tell her how he really felt? He never had a problem with other girls it was just her. He would hate never talking to her again.
Chapter 4: Red Rose
Chiara was on her way to class with her brother walking beside her. It had been a long while since Chiara had last talked to Draco, she still didn’t forgive him over what he had done to Shane. Zach hadn’t stopped nagging her about Draco.
“Ara you know Draco is smitten over you. Everyone does, I don’t know how you can keep denying it.” Zach was getting tired of trying to prove to Chiara that Draco did like her.
“No Zach he’s not smitten, just some stupid faze. He’ll get over it, besides he’s not my type.” Chiara didn’t believe Zach at all and she wasn’t going to let him get to her.
“But he’s Change Ara. He’s practically vowed to never go out with an other girl but you.”
“He might have but I haven’t changed.” Chiara pointed to herself trying to show her little brother that she didn’t have any different feelings towards Draco then possibly a friendship. “I don’t think I would like to risk going out with Draco.”
“That’s it Ara, you never take risk. When have you ever done something that’s even remotely risky.”
“Zach just because I don’t get up to what you do when I’m not around doesn’t mean I’m a bored senile person. I just like to have things go in my favor.” Chiara stopped walking thinking that this conversation better be finished while they weren’t walking.
“Who cares, apparently you’re different to him. You have some sort of grip or what ever over him.” Zach sighed knowing that this conversation was as useless ass a broken wand. Chiara let out a laugh.
“I have nothing over Draco. I haven’t even studied with him since what he did to Sean. Anyway what are you trying to do to me Zach? You’re my 15 year old brother.”
“I’m only saying Ara… I’ve got to go.” Zach turned away and walked off. Chiara continued walking to the Transfiguration class room. She noticed that everyone was still standing at the door. Chiara looked over at Draco and caught him glaring at her, she turned her head pretending to ignore him.
The door opened and the students walked in to the class. Chiara walked over to the back table where she had been sitting the past few weeks. Draco looked over to her with a scowl, his face slightly turning a ruby red with his anger.
*****
Chiara walked through the hallways of Hogwarts on her own. She rather walked alone then with someone, this was really the only time she had to mill over things. She walked past a door that flew open and she somehow was dragged in to. The room was dark she looked around feeling scared. All of a sudden the lights came on and Chiara saw Draco standing over her.
“What are you doing Malfoy!?” Chiara shouted.
“I’m sorry this was the only way I could get you on your own.” Draco reached behind his back. For a moment Chiara thought he was going for his wand but instead she saw something red appear in front off her face. “Chiara would you go out with me… please?” Draco asked softly. Chiara stared at the rose in utter shock. She didn’t know what to do, she wasn’t ready to go out and especially not with Draco.
“Um… Draco I just don’t know. It’s very sweet and all, the rose and asking me out. I just don’t think I want to go out with anyone at the moment.” Chiara felt bad as she watched Draco’s face fall in to a frown. Draco let his hand drop and the rose fall to the ground. Chiara watched as it turned black, the petals wilting away. “I’m so sorry Draco. I’ll keep thinking about it, but in the meantime we cans still be friends.” Draco stood still looking down at the ground silently. Chiara felt extremely bad for rejecting him. “I’m so sorry.” Chiara opened the door and walked away.
Draco looked up as soon as Chiara left. His face bright red with anger. “How could she reject me?” Draco growled out loud. “How could she reject a Malfoy!” Draco walked up to a wall and punched it with his fist. He pulled his hand away from the wall looking at the blood bleeding from the knuckles. He felt no pain other than the pain that was coming from his heart. Draco walked out of the room and saw Pansy standing there in front of him.
“What is it Pansy?” Draco snapped angrily.
“What is going on with you and Chiara?” Pansy asked in a high pitch snobby tone.
“None of your business.” Draco pushed Pansy away from him with his bloody hand leaving a streak of blood on Pansy’s robe.
“What about us Draco?” Pansy ran after him not noticing the blood on her robes.
“There is NO US PANSY!” Draco shouted angrily. He saw Pansy’s eyes well up in tears. “Leave me alone.” Draco turned and walked away from Pansy. Pansy stood there as she burst out in to tears.
