Branching Out
Hey All welcome to my first ever Fan Fiction, most of the characters are not mine no matter how much I would love them to be. The only character that is mine is Aphrodite Taylor, she is mine all mine, he he. Hope you enjoy.
Branching Out
The first weekend in October brought the students first trip of the year to Hogsmead, Remus and Sirius were going with Harry and his friends, as it turned out Sirius was Harry\'s godfather, \'you learn something new everyday\' thought Aphrodite, they had offered to let her go with them but she turned them down grullyully as she was going to spend the day reading a book by the lake, she needed time out. Remus understood the need for someone to have quiet time, Sirius looked a bit gutted at her turning down the change to get out of Hogwarts with them but he didn\'t want to say so.
After they\'d left, Aphrodite walked back to her room to collect her books, unaware that someone was watching her in the shadows. She spent five minutes in her room and left abruptly, she then made her way out of the castle and into its grounds, she sat by the large oak tree that rested on a little mound of earth by the lake. It was rather peaceful and she liked it like that, she\'d been reading for half an hour and was enjoying her book when she saw a shadow move across the floor, she knew someone was heading towards her so she grabbed her wand and turned round, in front of her stood Professor Snape, he was scowling, Aphrodite could tell he was in one of his foulest of moods.
\"Wha...what the hell are you doing?!?\" she shouted
\"Sorry, did I scare you?\" he snarled, she started to go red. Before she could reply he started speaking again.
\"You\'re not so cheeky when your friends aren\'t around are you?\"
\"Snape, hush up, your starting to irritate me, scowling at me wont make you feel better, you\'ll just make yourself look like you got wrinkles, not very attractive..\" She said calmly but he stopped her.
\"I think its you that should be hushing up my dear, you have no idea who your messing with\" he snapped this caused Aphrodite to giggle.
\"WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?!\" he was really angry, no one had ever back chatted him before, he was furious.
\"You look so attractive when your angry\" and then she started to cry with laughter. Snape shaking with anger raised his wand, Aphrodite was a bit shocked by this so she took a step back but tripped over a root from the oak tree that was uprooted, Snape gave a nasty little laugh and Aphrodite started cursing him all the nasty names under the sun, he started advancing on her, she was bleeding on her arm from when she tripped over and he noticed this, he stop scowling for a mo and and asked her to stay still but she was scared of him so she told him to leave her and she climbed up the tree. The tree was large and its branches spread out in every direction, some of them spread out so far they went over the lake, Aphrodite tried to stop crying, she hadn\'t intended to annoy him so much, she just wanted to put him in his place. She still had her book so she started to read it to take her mind of the man standing on the ground below her. She looked down at him and he seemed to look worried.
\"Aphrodite, please come down, it\'s not safe up there\" he said softly, he\'d never used her first name usually it was \'Taylor\' he never even bothered to call her Professor.
\"HA!! its safer up here thank you very much, when you\'ve gone i\'ll come down\"
\"Fine I\'ll come up after you!!\" he shouted, clearly he didn\'t have much patience
As he climbed onto the same branch, Aphrodite felt the branch move, she told him she didn\'t think it was a good idea but he wasn\'t listening to her and as he moved towards her the branch gave way and they fell into the lake, Snape managed to get out the lake first, Aphrodite was clearly struggling as the branch was caught on her robes, she slowly started to give up her fight and Snape decided he\'d have to go back in and rescue her.
In the hospital wing Aphrodite woke up to an audience of Madam Pomfrey, Remus and Sirius. She sat up slowly and looked around, bit surprised that she wasn\'t dead, last thing she could remember was giving up fighting against the branch that was dragging her down. Remus sat next to her and hugged her so hard, he didn\'t want to le go but he had to because Sirius wante hug hug her to, Aphrodite looked over at the bed next to her and saw Snape laying there looking up at the ceiling, he saw her looking and rolled over onto his side. After an hour of being fussed by Remus and Sirius, Madam Pomfrey asked them both to leave as Aphrodite needed sleep, soon it was just Snape and Aphrodite in the hospital wing and she removed herself from the bed and stumbled over to Snape\'s bed, she prodded him and called his name, he rolled over and looked at her, she took this as the sign to sit on his bed. They looked at each other in silence and then she got up to leave. Before she left she saidnk ynk you. he looked at her in astonishment.
\"What have you got to be sorry for you mad cow?\"
\"Erm well if I had come down from the tree you wouldn\'t have come up after me and you wouldn\'t be here now\"
\"true, but I shouldn\'t have lost my temper with you\"
She nodded and sat back down on his bed, he sat up and dragged her up to his end of the bed, he kept apologising for the way he treated her and she hugged him to his surprise. They decided to call a truce on their silly little feud, neither of them actually knew why they disliked each other, they didn\'t have a real reason to. When Madam Pomfrey came back they were both on his bed asleep.
