The Yule Ball Date Bet

Hermione felt the black lifting from her eyes. She heard voices in the background;
one of them seemed very familiar. Professor Lupin! Oh My God! She thought what if they realize
that I am listening to their conversation? “Sirius For the last time Shut UP!” shouted
Remus. “Sorry Moony, I just can’t get over the fact that she is a FUCKING HOTTIE! Like you can!”
Hermione fought back the urge to laugh herself to tears. Sirius Black, Harry GODFATHER thought
SHE Harry’s best friend, was HOT! She heard a girl laugh and decided to remain awake for the
rest of the conversation. “Hey you guys anyone up for a bet?” ask the girl. “Well… that all
depends on the prize.” She could feel Sirius’ eyes boring into her skin. “The first person’s name
in this room that she says gets to ask her to the ball on Saturday.” The girl said.
Hermione could tell she was smiling. “Well… that sound like a great idea Lily it’s just how are we
going to find out who’s name the hottie will say first?” Asked another boy. Hermione felt like she
had just failed her N.E.W.T.s exam. Lily as in Lily POTTER? Lily gave an exasperated sigh, “Oh
Peter can you be so dense, I’ll listen and tell you whose name she say’s first. I’ll bet you all ten
galleons that she will say Remus’ name first, because he was the one she saw last.” “Well then
we just got to make sure that she falls for one of us that Re.” Sirius said evilly “Sirius Black, I
know what you’re thinking and the answer is no way! We don’t even know the girl, and she has
know idea of what she would be getting herself into!” shouted Remus.
“Come on Re, are you scared that little Miss Granger might not pick you, uh is that
it REMMY?” he laughed shrillingly. “Don’t worry Remus I’m sure that she’ll say your name first,
you are after all the most kindhearted, compassionate, polite, gentleman I’ve ever known. Any
girl would fall for that.” Remus blushed as Lily said that. “Gee thanks Lils. I needed that.” After
that they all murmured in agreement. “NOW GO!” shouted Lily. Hermione heard the door close
and then open again. “Lily use this, it’s a recorder push play when she awakens and it’ll record
anything she says.” Remus paused, “I hope that she’ll be alright.” “So do I Re, so do I.” Lily said
as he closed the door, she walked over to the girl’s bedside. “Remus is really lucky to have found
someone like you, I hope that everything works out between you two.” She said soothingly to
Hermione. After that Hermione passed out again. Only to wake up four hours later, Lily pushed
the recorder. Hermione said the first name that came to her head…
