I know this chapter is short guys, but I didn't want to keep you waiting too long and that was an evil cliffy last time. Plus I'm trying to make this story last as long as possible. So here's some more! Enjoy and review!
Severus found himself on the floor staring up at a very concerned Albus and blasted Poppy.
“What have I told you about the first meal of the day Severus! It’s very important to eat your breakfast! It might lead to a blackout, especially if you’re going to hyperventilate! How many times must I tell you to-“
Albus raised his hand to silence her. “Enough Poppy, I think he knows because you’ve told him repeatedly, he’s not a 5th year anymore!” Severus furrowed his eyebrows at that.
Poppy huffed “Here, eat this muffin and you should be fine.” She turned and bustled out the door.
Severus got off the floor and sat back in the chair he had fallen out of. Albus took his seat behind his desk.
“A room for you is already being set up, there will be no alcohol aloud in your quarters until you are better. You may not leave the castle grounds, and the house elves have been given explicit instructions not to allow you any alcohol.”
“For gods sake man! I’m not a teenager!”
“No, you’re not.” Still no twinkling, he wasn’t kidding. “But we need you back, Severus. And as a friend, please do this. It is not healthy to carry on drinking the way you have been. You need to deal with what it is that you’ve been drinking yourself from thinking about. And a vacation would be a good idea.”
“There’s nothing to deal with!”
“Maybe that’s the problem. I suggest you start with that.”
Old man and his fucking riddles.
“Fine.” Severus knew when Albus wouldn’t budge, and this was one of those times. “Is there anything else?”
“No. You may want to go visit the hospital wing. That would be a good place to figure out what you need to deal with.”
With a nod, Severus rose and left the office.

What was in the hospital wing? Why did he need to go there, and how would it point him in the right direction? He hated it when Albus talked in riddles. What could possibly...He stopped mid thought as he walked in and saw Alex laying in bed. Her skin was so pale, almost gray. She had no color at all. Her eyes closed. Her arms were crossed over her chest in deaths rest. She looked at peace, and as beautiful as ever.
This was all his fault. The guilt he felt was overwhelming. She would still be alive if it wasn’t for him. Sad lad loved him. Probably the only woman that would actually, truly ever love him. And he had thrown it in her face. He could have told her all those months ago that he loved her too. They could’ve been happy months ago. They could be enjoying a lazy afternoon cuddle reading books. How he ached to do that now. A tear had found its way down his cheek. But now it was too late. He would never be able to tell her that he loved her. He would never feel her arms around him. He would never taste her, or hear her moan again. They would never be able to talk and laugh and debate like they had. Why had it taken him this long to figure all of this out? Why did it take her death to make him realize what he would miss. It was like that damn mirror of Erised; he would never be able to have this now, and knew that it was his deepest desire.
He wiped away his tears as he heard footsteps behind him. “Severus? What are you doing here?”
“Poppy. Just seeing what my charges did to her. But I see that you’ve already fixed her up. If you’ll excuse me.” He turned on his heel and sped out of there as quickly as he could without trying to look as is he was running away. As he walked out of the ward, he noticed Albus talking to an elderly couple. The woman was openly weeping into a handkerchief as her husband had an arm around her; looking too grieved to really do anything else. Must be her parents. As he passed he heard, “But why would she be down in the dungeons that time of night!!!” That was his fault. All his fault. NO! It wasn’t his fault! Anger rose up in him like he’d never felt before. He’d never felt so on fire. Pure unadulterated rage filled him. He wanted blood. Never even in his death eater days had he wanted to kill. But tonight, three boys were going to know the meaning of agony, torture, and pain. He was going to kill them all slowly and use every unforgivable and terrible curse he knew. Tonight, three boys were going to die.
