cap 25

The winter months passed as spring came upon them. Both Hermione and Draco kept themselves busy with their work. Hermione could not believe how much Draco had changed; quite different from their years at Hogwarts. To both their surprises, their friendship bloomed with the nudging of both Harry and Ginny.

Draco smiled as he lit the three candles on the cake. The living room full of guests clapped. Hermione kissed both the new three year olds on the tops of their heads as the rest of the guests sang the “Happy Birthday” song in both English and Spanish.

The guests had arrived a few hours earlier. The two youngsters had invited their wizarding and muggle guests into the small apartment.

Mrs. Molly Weasley had entered with Ginny. Mr. Arthur Weasley held onto Junior’s hand as Harry walked in with Gwen in his arms. Celia Ortiz and Juan had been helping Hermione with the preparations for the birthday party.

Hermione looked at Harry and nodded. The festivities began. Draco had knocked on the door, entering the muggle way as Harry had suggested to him because of the mixed company of the party.

“Uncle Draco,” all the kids shouted and headed towards him.

Hermione smiled as the blonde haired wizard hugged each of the four kids. He looked up at Hermione and smiled at her.

“Glad you could make it, Draco,” she said as she kissed him on the cheek.

He smiled, turning a little pink. He took in a deep breath. “Uh, Roxanne couldn’t make it. Some family dinner thing,” he said.

“Come on in, Draco,” she said as she ushered the kids back to the games and led Draco to where the adults were conversing.

The rest of the Sunday went swimmingly. Both adults and children were enjoying themselves. Hermione sneaked glances at Draco as he did the same to her. Harry and Ginny hid smiles as well.

Everyone enjoyed their dinner and cake. By the ten o’clock hour, Juan, Señora Ortiz and the Weasleys had left. The kids were already sound asleep. The adults were watching the National Geographic Channel on television. Harry held Harrison in his lap. Gwen was fast asleep against Ginny’s chest. Manny had crawled into Draco’s lap half an hour before. Hermione held Dray in her arms.

They watched as the credits rolled. Harry yawned as he stood up. “Honey, we probably should start home,” he said to Ginny as she nodded.

“We should start cleaning up,” Ginny suggested.

“Nonsense, guys,” Hermione said. “I’m on Spring Break starting tomorrow.”

“Still,” Harry said.

“Guys, you have an early day tomorrow,” Hermione said. “I’ve got a free day. Juan’s probably going to swing by to help out as well.”

“Are you sure, Hermione?” Harry asked.

“Yeah,” Hermione said as she kissed Ginny on the cheek. “I’m good, really.”

The Potters nodded their heads. Hermione kissed Harrison and then Gwen. The London visitors pulled out their wands. “Coming, Draco?” Harry asked smirking a little.

“I’ll be right along,” Draco said smiling at his scarred friend. He nodded at the couple as they apparated.

Hermione waved at Harry and Ginny as they disappeared with a pop. Draco took in a deep breath. “We probably should get these guys to bed,” he said.

It was Hermione’s turn to take a breath. “Uh, I’ve got them, Draco,” she said.

Draco headed straight for the small bedroom. He placed the sleeping boy on his bed. He pulled off his shoes and socks and then placed the covers over the blonde boy. Hermione did the same with his sister.

Draco turned as Hermione did the same. They bumped into each other. Hermione let out a slow breath.

“Um, it’s getting late,” she said.

“Right,” he said as he followed her out of the bedroom, “Early day tomorrow.”

Hermione nodded. Draco pulled his wand out. He smiled at her.

“Draco,” Hermione stopped him. “Do you want a cup of coffee?”

Draco let his wand hand down. He was a little puzzled at first. “That would be lovely,” he answered her as he removed his jacket and placed it on the coffee table along with his wand. He followed her into the kitchen, “Do you need any help?”

She took in a breath as she took a sip of her coffee. He watched her intently as he took a sip from his own cup. He smiled at her as he placed his cup on the coffee table. She held her breath as he gently took her cup from her hands and placed it next to his own cup on the table. Her chest heaved as she felt his palm caress her right cheek. He hooked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

Draco inched closer to her as they locked eyes. He leaned in for a kiss, hesitating at first. His lips ghosted over hers. She shut her eyes as she felt his lips, which were surprisingly soft, on her lips. She took in a breath as she allowed his tongue into her mouth. They exchanged a passionate kiss.

When they paused for air, they both looked at each other, breathing deeply. She reached for his shirtfront and he reached for hers. They quickly divested each other of their clothing. She lay back down on the couch, taking in deep breaths.

He kissed his way up starting from her abdomen. She blushed as she felt his soft kisses on her skin. She moaned as he sucked on her right nipple. He groaned as her fingers danced slowly down his back.

“I need you, Draco,” she moaned.

Draco paused for a moment, taking a breath as he looked down at her underneath him. He smirked before kissing her deeply as he entered her. She grabbed a hold of his shoulders as he thrust. She matched his rhythm.

He kissed her neck before sitting up on his knees. He brought her up to a sitting position straddling his thighs. He leaned forward to palm her left breast. His thrusts were deep as he gripped her hips as he sped up. He lost himself in the feel of her around him. He ran his fingers into her hair, breathing into her neck as she rode him.

“Say my name,” he groaned, as he nibbled on her earlobe.

“Draco,” she gasped at the brink of orgasm, tightening around him.

She cried out, arching her back as she came. He trembled as he climaxed, exploding within her, biting her shoulder until he was spent. He kissed her neck. He felt her smile against his cheek.

She lay back down on the couch, trying to control her breathing. He was on top of her, breathing deeply. They kissed each other again. “I love you, Hermione,” he said as he moved off her.

“I love you, too,” she said as she adjusted her position on the couch. He lay behind her, pulling her into his body. He felt her breathing slow, knowing she was slowly falling asleep.

It was quite late. He smelled the back of her neck, allowing the strawberry scent of her shampoo to waft into her nostrils. He kissed the back of her shoulder before he too fell asleep.

Hermione flexed her fingers unconsciously as she opened her eyes for the first weekday of Spring Break. Her eyes grew larger as she saw her fingers interlaced with other fingers. She quickly turned her head backward to see a smiling former Slytherin lying behind her. She began to blush.

“Morning,” he said.

“Morning,” she replied quickly releasing his fingers and sitting straight up. ‘Did last night really happen?’ she thought to herself, her ears starting to burn.

He yawned as he stretched. He, too, sat up.

“What time is it?” she asked softly.

He took a look at her wall clock. “Five of eight,” he said scratching his head.

“How long have you been awake?” she asked softly, looking at him.

He shrugged, “Half an hour.”

She stood up, a little unsteadily. “Why didn’t you wake me?”

“I didn’t want to bother you,” he said standing up himself. “Besides, you looked so peaceful sleeping.

“And yesterday was a long day for you; prepping for the twins’ birthday and all,” he said as he ran his fingers through his hair.

“Still,” she said, blushing a bit more. But she smiled at him. “You’re going to be late for work.”

He shrugged. She looked over at the couch, looking worried. Draco breathed in.

“I assure you, Hermione,” he said to her. “Nothing happened. We both just fell asleep watching the booby tube.”

“That’s boob tube, Draco,” Hermione said, taking in a breath. ‘It was just a dream,’ she thought, disappointed yet a little relieved at the same time.

“I should probably get a move on,” he said, grinning. She nodded.

He put an ironing spell on his shirt and trousers. He grabbed his jacket from the coffee table and sighed. Hermione nodded. He smiled again before apparating to the Ministry of Magic building, hundreds of miles away in Wizarding London.

She blew out her breath as the two youngsters entered the living room still sleepy eyed. The young boy hugged her mother’s leg.

“Hambre,” the girl said.

“Mommy, can we have torta,” the blonde boy asked.

“Sure,” the young mother ushered the two kids into the kitchen. “Would you like some coffee with your cake, Manny?”

The two children laughed knowing their mother wasn’t going to allow them the cake. Hermione began to cook their breakfast as she thought about the older blonde haired Wizard who had stayed the night and the very vivid dream she had had. She knew full well that something like that would never really happen.
