I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Revelations
This chapter and the previous deal with events from previous stories and the greater story arc. Sorry if it is confusing. I also are finding little errors rereading it, which leads me to believe Foxfur hasn't proofed these yet but she has been awfully busy and I wanted to get them out. I may come back and repost cleaner versions later.
Revelations
Shippo had managed to regain his feet but only half heartedly defended himself from Kit’s attack. Yuriko screamed at them to stop to no avail.
“You have no right to touch her!” Kit screamed at the Kitsune. “You killed her!”
“I didn’t want her to die,” Shippo said. “I had no choice.”
“I don’t believe you. You could have told me, I could have not gone back.”
“It wasn’t that simple, Kit. If you had only seen what I saw.”
The two of them were staggering now barely on their feet. A condition due more than just the effort of the struggle as their spiritual forms reflected the condition of their physical bodies in the mortal world.
“Yes, I know Koenma showed you what would happen. I can’t believe you could just let it happen.”
“I didn’t want to but he showed me what would happen if it didn’t.”
“What was so bad that she had to die?”
“I think you need to see to understand, my son,” Coyote said stepping up to them, in anthro form again, and placing a paw hand on their shoulders.
The desert canyon disappeared.

Llewellen stepped back as the two figures on the beds stopped the twitching movements from before.
“What’s going on?” Toshiro asked.
“They have fallen into a coma. It is out of my hands now. They will recover or die.”
“Could we break the link you created?” Terendil asked. “We could save Master Shippo at least.”
“I tried but it’s almost as if something is interfering. Something more powerful than I.”
~~~
Kit and Shippo found themselves in a clearing in the middle of a green wood.
“This seems familiar,” Kit said looking around.
A scream caught their attention as Yuriko ran into the clearing being chased by a lumbering Oni (Ogre).
“No,” Kit whispered as two more Oni literally walked through them to cut off the fleeing Kitsune.
Kit recognized the scene where he had come to Yuriko’s rescue in Japan’s medieval past. He realized now what he hadn’t known back then that her scream was intentional as she attempted to lead the Oni away from Hanako who was hiding nearby. She turned to avoid the two Oni in front of her but the Oni following anticipated her move and she turned right into his arms. Two Oni each took an arm and held her as the third towered over her.
“Leave her alone!” Kit yelled and leapt at the Oni Leader only to pass right through him.
“You’re not here, remember?” Coyote said. “This is what happens if you had not come back.”
The growl Kit aimed at him was turned into a whimper by Yuriko’s scream, for real this time, as the Oni broke her leg with an audible crack. Her suffering was not short as her tormentors beat her savagely, all the while asking for the Fox Child. Which each blow and scream Kit collapsed some more being held up only by Shippo’s strong arms around him.
“STOP IT! STOP!” Kit screamed at last.
“She was very brave,” Coyote said as the scene shivered and changed around them. “She never told them where Hanako was hiding but in the end her death was in vain.”
They were in the enormous underground hall of the Oni Mountain Kingdom. The group of Oni from earlier entered the chamber. Their leader held Hanako by the tail as she kicked and screamed. As they approached the towering figure of Yamanasu on the throne, she fell silent staring at the towering Oni King in terror.
“My Lord,” the Oni carrying her said bowing. “I have captured the Fox Child.”
Out of the shadows by the throne Momoru, the Shadow Queen’s servant, strode forward. He looked into Hanako’s eyes as the shivering child stared back at him.
“This is not the one,” he said turning away.
“What?” The Oni cried slinging Hanako around which started a fresh round of screaming from the child.
“Fool,” the Mountain King yelled. “Get rid of it and find me the right Fox Child. And stop that wretched noise!”
“Gladly My Lord,” the Oni said throwing Hanako to the ground and lifting his iron spiked club.
“ENOUGH!” Kit screamed on his hands and knees. Tears rolled down his face as the scene faded into shadows.
“Alright, so I had to go back. I understand that now but I still could have changed things if I had known. I could have delivered the jewel shard and taken her away.”
“You could have,” Coyote continued, “but at what cost?”
The scene shifted again and Kit recognized the city square where Yuriko had died. Possessed by the disembodied Yamanasu, she had been absorbed as he used her body to recreate his own. Only now it was Miroku the Monk that was possessed and as they watched he transformed into the towering Oni King. They watched as without the trap the Monk had created to stop him, Yamanasu crushed the child Shippo to death and in the following battle killed Inuyasha and the others.
Kit suggested other things he could have done and over and over they relived events with the same or worse results. The time lines where Kit simply kept the jewel shard and ran away with his new family were the worst.
“Almost all the time lines eventually lead to some variation of this,” Coyote said at last.
They were in front of the Bone Eater’s Well. The Sunset Shrine around them but the well house did not exist in this time. Momoru stood there the completed Shikon Jewel glowing darkly in his hand and kneeling at his feet was Naraku, the shape shifting half demon that had battled Inuyasha and his companions over the jewel. As they watched, demonic energy flowed from Naraku into the jewel. The darkness grew and flowed outward to well.
“At last, I am free!” The dark form of the Queen of Shadows burst forth from the well. Tentacles of shadow leapt forth from her wrapping around Naraku and the jewel and pulling them into her as Momoru fell to the ground lifeless. Events moved quickly from there, soon Tokoyo and its surroundings were in flames and the gates to the demon realm were opened to unleash terror on the world. Koenma and his Spirit Detectives rose to battle the threat and were defeated. The Elven High Court was overthrown and the Unseelie joined forces with the Queen to defeat the Bright Court. The world was plunged into never ending darkness.
~~~
Kit was on his knees back on the canyon floor, tears streaming down his face.
“So there really wasn’t anything I could do?”
Yuriko leaned down in front of him.
“Beloved, my life was better at the end because of you and Hanako is safe with a loving father to care for her. I could not ask for more except for you to live as well. It is strange to see the sweet child I knew grown to manhood but he is good man and he loves you. Please, I ask you to find it in your heart to forgive him.”
Kit sobbed and nodded his head. “I want to but I don’t know if I can.”
“I understand, Beloved. I give this last gift to you, I think it will help.”
Kit was confused as she touched the beads around his neck. The beads glowed and transformed into a circle of energy. A line of energy reached out from that circle to her chest. As he watched, she touched that spot and a second line emerged following her hand as she reached out and touched Shippo. The line sank into his chest.
Suddenly something changed for Kit. He looked down and saw the circle of energy around the beads condense into a single spot, still connected to her, and sink into his chest. He and Shippo gasped as a third line shot from the spots on their chests to form a triangle between them. The energy lines flared and then disappeared.
Kit was still starring at the spot when Yuriko leaned over and kissed him.
“It is time for you to go now beloved; the living cannot remain here long.”
“Will I ever see you again?”
“When you finally reach the land of dead we can be together again, until then you must live, for Hanako, for me and for Shippo.”
“It’s time to go now,” Coyote said.
Kit and Shippo started fading away.
“Yuriko!” Kit cried out reaching for her as they disappeared.
“Will they be happy?” Yuriko asked.
“Who knows,” Coyote shrugged. “When Koenma and I pulled forth those images, they were shadows of what was the past from Kit and Shippo’s perspective. That is very easy to do and very accurate. Seeing into the shadows of the future is very different, each decision they make changes everything. Very hard to see. What I can see shows much trouble ahead for them but I think they will be happy in the end.”
“Good,” she said.
“I was impressed, that was a mighty generous thing you did. For a Fox Bitch you aren’t half bad.”
“It was not that hard, he is a good man opening up to one such as he is not such a bad thing for the ones we love.”
“I suppose you are right. Speaking of gifts, there is something I should do for Kit given his new abilities.” Coyote looked thoughtful for a moment then turned to her. “Say, why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be moving on?”
“Not yet.”
