Thank you to everyone that's reviewed! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU! :D
Spaci- nice catch on that one line- I love that song! I did change around the two words though in order to fit- but if you know the song well enough to pick out what song it is- and it's not on the radio- you probably knew that.
And special thanks tlenelene, Anon, Leonora, and Jess- my faithful readers/reviewers! It's nice to know your sotry is appreciated. And don't worry- there's more steam coming up! I promise!
Warnings: You should know this by now
Attn: Unfortunatly, I do not own the characters or settings you recognize- they belong to J.K, I'm just playing with them.
Some time after the Headmaster left her; Alex continued to stare out at the lake processing their conversation. She knew this much; Severus loved her, and if she wanted him, it was up to her to make him see it. But how? Clearly trying to talk to him wasn’t going to work. He was too stubborn. She had to convince him that he missed her, lover, er, and needed her. She left to go find Sasha, she always knew what to do when it came to men.
She found her talking with Kevin by the fire. She gave Sasha a look that clearly said ‘Girl Talk Time’ and she excused herself from Kevin, and they went up to their rooms.
“Spill, what’s happened?”
So Alex told her what Severus said to her, and then what the Headmaster said.
“Ok, so we know that’s it’s ok, as long as you guys keep it quiet.”
“It appears that way.”
“Ok, you have to figure out how to bring Severus’ walls down, without being a crying whiny girl who isn’t getting her way.”
“I’m not!”
“I know that, but that’s the way he’s going to view it, in order to distance himself from you even more. You have to show him what he’s missing, and be seductive about it. You have to rise a level, because obviously, talking isn’t going to do it.”
“…Oh…so I see.”
They sat up plotting until well after midnight.

Alex stayed out of sight from Severus until New Years. She was nervous and anxious. So many times she wanted to go down to him, or go to a meal just to see him. But she had the house elves send her food in the common room and stuck to her plan. She knew he’d be prowling the halls to catch people out past curfew, especially on this night. She wore the sexiest dress she had, changing it from purple to green with a simple spell. She put her hair up and did her make up so she didn’t’ look like a schoolgirl, but a young mature woman. Sasha gave her an invisibility potion. It took effect 20 seconds after the drinker took it; this would give her enough time for what she wanted to accomplish, and nothing more. Which was a good thing, because she would want to do more, but knew that it wouldn’t go with the plan.
She set up mistletoe in a doorway, where she was sure he would come by, and peeking around the corner, she waited. Sure enough, she saw him heading straight for her. She went under the mistletoe and took the potion. She waited. It felt like an eternity, and she was beginning to panic- she only had 20 seconds! Where is he?! What if she timed it wrong?! Then he came into view, and their eyes locked. The countdown had started- oh this was perfect! Hearing the shouts from ten, as he stepped closer. She pointed to the mistletoe and watched him hesitate, as if not wanting to look away from her, and then looking back down. She took him in an embrace that made fireworks behind her eyes. She pulled away and said. “Happy Holidays, Severus.” Then she felt the potion take effect, and his eyes become unfocused, staring through her. She vanished the mistletoe just before he looked up for it. Then he turned and swept away. Maybe she should have left the mistletoe? Maybe he’d want it as a keepsake. Then she got an idea. She followed him at a safe distance. The potion would work for three hours. He was walking fast, and not looking for curfew breakers anymore. It was as if he was running away from something. She followed a little closer as he let down his wards to his rooms, and she slipped inside. Severus went straight to his couch where a bundle wrapped in cloth and an almost empty jar was. She left him to go into his bedroom and left a leaf of mistletoe on his pillow. He could then decide if he wanted to keep itnot, not, while also getting a reminder. She went to leave, and upon entering the living room where Severus was, was greeted by the smell of a sweet smelling smoke. Curious, she went to see what he was doing. He was smoking weed. Severus smoked pot? She wouldn’t have guessed. He was hunched over. Going to the other side of the room, she could look at his face. He had a frown, and his brow was furrowed. He was tracing a red mark, and upon closer inspection, saw it was a scar. A fresh scar; the scab already gone, but not quite healed yet. She wondered how he got it.
“Alex….” He whispered. Her breath caught in her throat, hoping for more. She wasn’t disappointed.
“I miss you…I wish you were here…Gods this hurts so much.” She wasn’t sure if he was talking about the scar or something else.
“I want you to be mine… mine…”
She had to leave. She wanted to go to him and slap him and hug him, and say, ‘I am yours! Why can’t you see that?!’ She had to leave, now, before she did something stupid. She ran up to her rooms.

Severus Left after his encounter with Alex. Or a hallucination of Alex. Whatever that was. Maybe he was going crazy. He went straight for his pipe. After a few hits, he put his pipe down. Glancing at his wrist, he saw the scar. Tracing it, he felt a presence. But he knew no one was there. Just an effect of the weed. But he wished some one was there. Alex in particular. He wasn’t sure if he voiced these things or not. Weed was an amazing thing and he was numb to his feelings, even though he knew exactly what was going on. It made his thoughts run and seem to be clearer and blurrier at the same time. Just as fast as he felt the presence, it had gone. He smoked some more and passed out with a faint, depressing “Happy New Years.” Whispered to no one in particular.
