Chapter 1
A/N -- I give you warning that I’m working off of the movie version of The Princess Bride when I write this. Also I ask that you not kill me if you think this sucks a big one!
Once again I own nothing of Harry Potter or The Princess Bride. Thank-you.
Chapter 1
Hermione was raised on a small farm in the country of Florin. Her favourite past times were riding her horse and tormenting the farm boy that worked there. His name was Severus but she never called him that.
One day Hermione came up to Severus after a ride saying, “Polish my horses saddle, I want to see my face shining in it by morning.”
“Yes Miss Granger.”
A few days later Hermione walked up to Severus holding two buckets. “Fill these with water…please.”
“Yes Miss Granger.” he said as she walked away.
‘Yes Miss Granger’ was all he ever said. That day Hermione was amazed to find out that when he was saying ‘Yes Miss Granger’, what he meant was \"I love you\". Upon realizing this she turned to see him staring at her. She smiled at him before turning and walking away.
The next day she was kneading some dough when Severus came in carrying some logs for the fireplace. He was almost out the door when Hermione called to him.
“Farm boy,” he turned to face her as she was trying to find something for him to do. She looked and found a clay pitcher that she could have easily reached and said, “fetch me that pitcher.” Glancing over at it as she spoke to him.
Severus came close to her, while handing the pitcher to her he whispered “Yes Miss Granger.”
Hermione had a huge smile on her face as she set the pitcher aside. She looked back at him and they kissed. Her heart was singing with joy. Severus was equally if not more joyful because of this. When they finally broke the kiss they were both Smiling happily.

Unfortunately Severus had no money for marriage so he decided to leave the farm to seek his fortune across the sea. It was a very emotional time for Hermione.
“I wish did didn’t have to leave.” Hermione said sadly.
“I must if I am to give you a proper wedding.” Severus replied.
Hermione extremely gloomy decided to voice what she was concerned about. “I fear I’ll never see you again.”
Severus looked into her frightened eyes, “Of course you will. I will always come for you.”
Impressed by his confidence Hermione asked, “But how can you be sure?”
Gazing into her eyes he told her “This is true love. Do you think this happens every day?”
She smiled at him and after one last kiss Severus left.
-----------------------------
Hermione got the news one month later that Severus had been murdered by the Dread Piraoldeoldemort. She locked herself in her room and for days she neither slept nor ate. She told herself, “I will never love again.”
