A Night Out

Chapter 2: Making it to Morning



Five minutes pasted before Albus heard back form Tootise. “Tootise found Professor Snape. Professor Snape at bad forest edge. Professor Snape Hurt.” the elf told Albus. Hearing this Albus frowned and replied to Tootise “Go to Hospital Wing and inform Madam Pompfry that I am bring the Professor there.” Not waiting to see if the elf would do as told Albus rushed out of his office.



On his way down to the forbidden forest the Headmaster had all kinds of thoughts on what could have happened to Severus. Was he found out by the Death Eaters as a spy? Did the MOM send there lackeys after him? Or Merlin forbid did something that lived in the forest get to him. All these thoughts had taken him to the castle doors that lead out into the court yard. Once he was out of the castle Albus all but flow down to the forest edge. Nothing in his wildest dreams could prepare him for the state his lover was in.



Albus slowed down as he neared the spot that Severus was laying. When he got closer he saw Severus laying on his stomach face turned away. Albus for one horrifying moment thought that he was to late and that his lover, friend, and most trusted companion was already dead. With a sharp inhale of breath Albus said “Please Severus, please do not be dead”. After he said this he kneeled down and with the other most care turned Severus over. Then he placed his hand on Severus chest and bowed his head in grief at what he had lost. The grief was short lived as the hand that he had on the chest was slowly moving up and down. “ Oh thank Merlin. You are still with me. Can you hear me Severus.” no response was forth coming. Albus wasting no more time took out his wand and cast a lavation charm on Severus and then quickly made his way to Hospital Wing.

In the Hospital Wing Madam Pompfry was finishing up with her check list on the potions that needed to be replace or refilled for when the students returned. Just as she was calling for a owl to take the list down to the resident potion master Tootise pop in startling her. “Oh my you you scared me there dear. How can I help you.” “Tootise be told by headmaster that Tootise tell you he come here with Professor Snap.” Tootise told her. Hearing this Poppy became worried and asked “ Do you know how badly hurt the professor is?”. Nodding his head and giving her a frightened look said “Professor hurt bad, not wake up”. Upon hearing this Poppy started to rush around and gather things that she might need. Seeing that he was no longer needed Tootise pop back to the kitchen unnoticed by Poppy.



It had taken Poppy about 5 minutes to get things in order, the same amount of time that it took the headmaster to bring an injured Snape into the wing. Not wasting any time she ordered the headmaster to place him on the nearest bed. Once that had been done she cast several spells in fast order. As she read the results of each spell her face become more grim. This was not good, not good at all.



Paying no mind to the Headmaster questions Poppy started grabbing potions and spelling them right into Severus system. She was mentally keeping track of how much blood replenish, bone minding, and pain killers she was giving him. Only when she was sure that the potions where working did she start to cast the spells that would start to repair the nerves in is mangled arm. That arm had her worried. Only time would tell if it could be heeled all the way. After working on him for four hours she finally managed to get Severus stable. Once she was finished she turned to look at the Headmaster.

After Albus had placed Severus down on the bed he was forced to step back and wait for Poppy to tell what was wrong. Now on a normal basses Albus had no trouble with waiting, but when someone that he loved was hurt he could not stand not knowing. But that was what he was forced to do now.



Looking at Severus and the shape he was in he had no idea how he was still alive. Blood covered him and had been all around him as he lay at the forest edge. His right arm was just hanging on below the elbow. Albus had no idea what other injuries he had, but the ones that he could see where bad.



So lost in his worry over Severus Albus did not see that Poppy had finished what she could do for him until she lightly touched him on the shoulder. Looking up at her he asked “Is he going to make it Poppy?”.



“ I really do not know if he will make it though the night Albus. His injuries where sever and he lost a lot of blood. I managed to get blood replenish and bone minding potions down him and they seem to be doing there job. The internal injuries are healing well and should not give him any trouble. My main concern is his blood lose and his right arm. I just do not know if it will heal. I would say that if he makes it to morning then he will recover just fine. But Albus do not get your hopes up just yet, it is along way till morning. Go sit with him ” Said Poppy. With a nod the Headmaster did just as said.



After an hour of sitting there holding his loves hand the Headmaster fall asleep not to wake until morning.



All through out the night Poppy keep a check on Severus. She was pleased to see that he was improving each time she scanned him.

At 8 o’clock the next morning when Albus awoke and Poppy came to check on Severus they found him awake and staring at them. Seeing that Severus was awake Albus smiled and said “What happened to you Severus? How did you end up hurt? And don’t you ever scare me like that aging”.
